And technology info on the Yuuzhan Vong, I've not read many NJO books so what they use and stuff is news to me. Thanx for the help!

Weren't they the species in the Black Fleet Crisis trilogy? I remember they captured Han and tortured him and they were very vicious like the Vong. Here's something from the Unoffical Encyclopedia:

    Yevetha
a humanoid alien race which resembled animated skeletons, the Yevetha originally came from the planet N'zoth. Their facial structure was highly colored, with a white nasal ridge and scarlet cheek and chin ridges surrounding dark black eyes. The Yevetha had six clawed fingers on each hand, and a wicked dewclaw could be extended from their wrists. Having evolved in the Koornacht Cluster and never seeing other stars beyond their own, the Yevetha became a very self-important race, considering themselves the masters of their universe. All other races were simply vermin. The Yevetha had a hierarchical society, with the males being dominant. There were castes of males and females, and the higher classes alway dominated the lower. Lower-ranking Yevethan males were required to bear their necks in deferrence to their superiors. Yevetha were also extrememly quick to learn new things, and were particularly adept at assimilating technology. They never eat in mixed company, and detested the smell and feel of other races. They installed specialized bathing stations on their embassy ships, to wash away the scent of other races. The Yevetha had moved beyond N'zoth and either conquered of populated the nearest worlds when the Empire subjugated them and used the Koornacht Cluster as a base of operations for the Black Sword Command. Under the guidance of Nil Spaar, the Yevetha overthrew the Imperials following the Galactic Civil War, and created plans to purge the Koornacht Clsuter - and eventually the galaxy - of non-Yevethans. This plan became known as the Great Purge, and was initiated about twelve years after their defeat of the Empire. The New Republic eventually put a halt to the Yevethan aggression, and the Yevetha were forced to retreat to N'zoth. They remained a formidable threat, however, so much so that the Yuuzhan Vong traded a momentary freedom to the Fia in exchange for information on the Yevethan military. The Fia, who had been among the many races plagued by the Yevetha, were only too eager to agree. In an attempt to eliminate any threat along its rearward borders, the Yuuzhan Vong utterly destroyed the Yevethan homeworld of N'zoth, killing every last Yevethan individual and wiping the Yevethan civilization from the galaxy. What a coincidence! My stories are centered on the Yevetha too (links in sig). :p :D

It's surprising to see the Yevetha rise in popularity.

Reading the Black Fleet Crisis (and that Force Heretic book, although their appearance is miniscule) is essential if you want a grasp of their personalities and culture. I found that the Unofficial Encyclopedia was useful only in finding language bits, territorial information and cultural facts.

There are also several ranks amongst the Yevetha that the Encyclopedia (to my knowledge) doesn't have. There is the leader of the Yevetha called the Viceroy (or in some cases, the Blessed One or the darama). There are proctors (politicians and aides to the Viceroy) and there are primates (military leaders and commanders). There are also some essential Yevethan words (these are complied from numerous sources)...

    ?Etaias,?
This term refers to a superior.

    ?Mara-nas,?
This term refers to the birth cask which all female Yevetha carry in a mating ridge on the back of their heads. It is nourished with continual infusion of blood from the mother.

    ?Marasi,?
This term refers to a young Yevetha female who is ready to be impregnated.

    ?Nitakka,?
This term refers to a young Yevetha male. It roughly translates into ?The strongest of us all,?

The Yevetha also hold a strong reverence to blood.

Just remember one fact when you're writing them... they're xenophobic (although there's one in my fic that's not, but it'll be explained later on. ;) ).

So in all, I can only recommend giving the BFC series a read.

    Whew... hope that helps. :)

You asked about the technology the Vong use, and I've read all the NJO books so I can help you there.

Coralskippers-Those are the ships they use to fight. They shoot plasma balls instead of laser fire. They're alive, like everything else the Vong use.

Amphistaffs- They use them as weapons. They're long, and they have teeth that if they bite you you're poisoned.

They wear vonduun crab armor that protects them(and boy is it effective). It can even protect them from lightsabers. But it has weak spots, like under the arms, and I think in the neck?

Dovin basals- They use these to make black holes that suck up enemy fire, but they canbe overwhelmed or tricked.

Hope that helps, but I know of a link that might help you a little more : Yuuzhan Vong

*brings out Essential Guide* Alright here yah go.

Yevetha: The Yevetha are a xenophobic species from the planet N'zoth in the Koornacht Cluster, and isolated Collection of aboutu 2000 stars that hasx yielded very little intelligent life in its system. They are thin, tall, bony mammalian humanoids, and the males of the species have scarlet facial crests along their cheeks, jaws, and the tops of their heads. These crests swell up when a male is spurred to violence, and their primary head crest engorges when a male is prepared to mate. The females of the species exhibit no such features.

Each Yeventha has a wide-set black eyes and retractable dewclaws, one on the inside of each wrist above their six-fingered hands. Yevethan skin incorporates vestigial armor on the back of the neck and down the spine. Their brains are loated in their thoraxes behind thick b one b raincages, and a line of indentations along their temples contains fine hair cells fort auditory sensing.

Yevetha reproduce by laying eggs in birth casks-external wombs- often kept in special rooms. If the children remain in these birth casks tpast birth, the casks are then referred to as nestings. Unobron children feed on blood, preferably the mother's blood, although the blood of any Yevetha wil do. Often, Yevethan leaders will kill underlings and feed their clood to their unborn or nesting children in the caks, and hti sis considered a great honor for the citim.

This biological need for blood is the central focus of Yevethan culture and religious belief system, making them a violent people. They are a dutiful, attentive, cautious, but fatalistic species shaped by stictly hierarchical culture. Most male Yevetha live day to day with the knowledge that, at any moment, a superior may kill them simply for their blood.

Until their contact with the Empire, the Yevetha believed they were the only intelligent creatures in the universe. initially they submitted to Imperial rule, but allowd the EMpire to become lax in its control, then-without warning- rebelled violently, slaughtering every human stationed on N'zoth. As a result of their experience witht he Empire, their ethnocentrism turned to xenophobia, causing them to consider all other intelligent life morally and pysically inferior.

Their government is led by a viceroy, often called "the blessed" because of his role as both religious and political leader. He sits at the head of a complex hierarchy, served by military leaders called primates and administartors called proctors. all of these obey him wouthout question and will eagerly die for him. They are ruthless fighters and are unwilling to surrender, even in the face of certain defeat.

That comes from page 156 of The Essential Guide to Alien Species

    Now for Yuuzhan Vong technology.

Coralskipper: Coralskippers are Yuzhan Vong bioengineered starfighters made of a living substance known as y0orik coral. While no two coralskippers look exactly alike, they ten dto share some features, such as a tepered nose and an aerodynamic hull. They are roucgly triangular in shape, resembling an ateroid. Their canopies resembled natural mica more than transparisteel.

At the front of each skip, as they have come to be called by New Republic pilots, is a dovin basal that propels the coralskipper and creates black hols that absorban oppposing fighter ship's laserfire.

To engange the enemy, a coralskipper draws close to its opponent and asmall appendage ont he front erupts like a miniature volcano, spewing forth a burst of fire and a single glober of molten rock that can melt thorugh the hull of a spacecraft. In a circle of enemies, the coralskipper spins faster and faster, beniding an adversary's laser blasts into a field of gravity. Opeonents can't break free adn are forced to orbit the coralskipper until they crash together, at which point the gravity well dissipates and all of the ships, including the skip and its suicidal pilot, go up in a tremendous flash of energy.

The coralskipper needs to cgather nourishment in order to c
