It's not just old timers. I'm 21 and I'm chomping at the bit for a high quality OOT release. My friends feel similarly as I do, and they're all relatively casual fans. My brother is high school aged; he and his friends also prefer the OOT. I'm sure demographics heavily factor into OOT/SE preference, I think primarily because of availability more so than anything else, but some people just prefer the OOT on its own merits regardless of their age, just as some people who saw the OT in theaters during its initial run prefer the SE for their own reasons.

Agree with both you and PymParticles...to be honest, about the ONLY change(s) that I like from the SE's are the updated effects for the Battle of Yavin in ANH. And that's it.

The OOT has such a timeless look that it continues to be enjoyed and loved by every generation that discovers it. My 14 yr old son who had no interest in SW at all agreed to watch the OOT first with me a month before TFA came out because I wanted him to see it with me in the theater. He absolutely loved it. The only thing that looked bad to him was when they blew up Alderaan. He giggled during that scene and said it looked like a firecracker going off. Other than than he thought it was great and looked way better than the effects in the PT which he doesn't even want to finish watching (yes I actually encouraged it :D).
