Some stories are being told by Maz I believe and therefore they perhaps are exaggerated as a storyteller, in the same way the story of the chappie from TFA all creatures great and small - it's canon insofar as the story is being told, but not the story itself

Yoda? Interesting choice.

 

Young Yoda? Last time I got excited for a pre-TPM Yoda comic I got very disappointed. But, call me cautiously optimistic on this one...

 

It seems the target audience is for younger kids than Marvel's. I wouldn't worry too much and just enjoy the ride.

 

I guess that would be the best approach.

I see S3 Ezra and Kanan, Ventress and Padme. Interesting how Ahsoka is not there considering her importance to Anakin's story. But there will be Ahsoka stories so that's good news for her fans at least. And they misspelled her name.

I got a free preview copy of this at my comic shop today. No spoilers really, just C3PO and R2 telling "stories" essentially previewing what some of the issues will cover. Young Luke on Tatooine, pre-TPM Anakin acquiring 3PO's eyes, Ventress, pre-TFA Finn on a First Order mission, plus a couple others. This looks like it will be a lot of fun!

 

Any details you could share on the Ventress story?

 

She appears to be being held captive above a steaming vat of red liquid surrounded by robed figures, one of which is holding a box with one of her curved handled lightsabers in it. She breaks free and uses the force to retrieve the saber which she then brandishes at the robed figures. That's it. She is dressed much as she was in the micro series

 

So...they won't be on Marvel Unlimited?

So... I thought it was an exaggeration from bitter fans, but it really does start to look like they're aping the micro series.

 

Is this free preview copy the same thing as the SDCC "ashcan" issue?

Just going to point out the obvious: Ventress is wearing her TCW outfit in the preview NOT her micro series one

(Shame though I'd have liked for her to have had a canon adventure in that outfit as the costume is canon as it was briefly worn in the first Dathomir episode)

Could that Twi-lek be the same twi-lek that is part of the corsairs crew during the lost treasure of count Dooku story? Maybe that bearded man is Kix? Whatever the case I'm excited for more of Sidan Ithano!

 

I'm still somewhat confused as to how I ended up with a copy of this when everything I've read about it says it's a SDCC exclusive. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to have it, just a little confused is all. Did copies get sent to comic book shops as well?

 

I grabbed one from my comic shop last week, and they still had a stack this week. Free with purchase of SW comic

Kix's survival. Though in that concept art, even with a beard, he doesn't look anything like a clone.

Edit: Actually went back to the actual comic preview and he admittedly looks a little more accurate.

 

I'm really glad there's going to be a story here continuing the Crimson Corsair's adventures between the short story and TFA. That was probably my favorite of the Journey to TFA short stories.This is the first announced part of this comic I'm actually excited to read.

What's the symbol on Kix's shoulder? And was Reventh mentioned as being a cyborg in the original short story?
