No one ever said being a smuggler was easy!

Before they ever met Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca had already lived a lifetime of adventures. In this action-packed tale, Han and Chewie are caught between gangsters and the Empire, and their only help is Han's former partner -- who may be worse than either!

Star Wars Adventures is a new series of graphic novellas designed for readers of all ages!

I bumped into this one at the LCS today. Nice surprise. Since it's all Han and Chewie, I'm interested to find out if it has more of an adult audience than the TCW digests.

ETA: Now that I have it, I have no idea where it goes on by bookshelf. Does this take place before Empire Vol. 1?

I enjoyed it. Classic Star Wars. Too bad they can't crank these out monthly as well.

And Randy announced some more a few days back over at the DH forums:

We have two more currently in the works -- just off the starting blocks, and thee other in development. The one underway is titled "Luke Skywalker and the Treasure of the Dragonsnakes." And that's all I can tell you now.

    Goodie!!! :)

Cronal's channeling Jeremy Barlow. Someone ought to de-meltmassif his office or something.

Page zero - one year before ANH. Page one - two years before ANH. Huh?

Really cool, otherwise. Very EU friendly, and Firefly-ish at the same time.

Which reminds me - hey, DHC lurkers! When's that Shepherd Book story coming?

Randy Stradley over at the DH forums (March 25, 2009):

Sorry. A bit of a screw-up on the dates. The script said two years before, but Leland said to place it at one year before. Unfortunately, the script didn't get changed.

I picked it up today. It's a really fun caper, with Jeremy's skill for deeper storylines also burying some really interesting stuff in there, doing genuinely new things with Han and Chewie's relationship, and exploring Han's past. Really a great underworld story.

Yep, a romping, fast-paced, fun little adventure. I always like getting a look at Hans pre-Rebel life and his dealings with Empire at its height. This one doesn't disappoint, with another look at Han and Chewie in the smuggling days and another figure from Han's past.

And now I know what a hoojib is.
