    Have they?
    Now it is possible that I missed something but so far what I have gathered about this new galaxy is;
It is another galaxy. The people that made the map-orb originally came from that galaxy. They did so in some ways connected to the star-whales going back and forth.

    That is pretty much it.

Are there any other space-faring races in this galaxy?
Is there some sort of galactic civilization?
If they mentioned that, I missed it.

Why have Thrawn not tried to conquer this galaxy?
If there are other people there, would they aid the heroes or the villains?
Why are there random bad guys on the planet?

    Bye for now.

The problem with Sabine's character at least so far is that they're trying to portray her as this irrational teenager when she's a grown woman who's supposed to have fought in a war.

Yeah, I wondered about this new galaxy. I know it's not hugely relevant to the plot of this series, so I guess it's an exploration for another time. As others have said, maybe this is Skeleton Crew territory.

I'd like to have these questions answered too. The best I can come up with is that Peridea is an out of the way, outer rim planet, and something like Dagobah where no one really visits. If all we knew of the GFFA was Dagobah, we wouldn't have any hint of a Galactic Empire or Republic or Jedi Order.

My best guess for why Thrawn hasn't tried to conquer this galaxy is his star destroyer is busted and can't hyperspace travel out of Peridea's system. Either that, or he doesn't have the star charts that will allow him to travel outside the system. Or perhaps he sent out some feelers and came to the conclusion he was hopelessly over-matched?

It's difficult to guess if others would get involved. The night sisters, and Peridea in general, seem to be long-forgotten by the rest of this galaxy.

I wouldn't describe the bandits on Peridea as random. They are native to the planet and they choose to fight to survive. Our heroes presented what appeared to be easy targets to them.

I understand your point, that you simply want these questions answered. Maybe, as others have suggested, we'll learn more in Skeleton Crew or Season Two. Or maybe this galaxy will be more fleshed out in novels or comics.

My questions were first about what we have been told about this new galaxy and I wondered if I had missed anything.
Are those bandits native to Perdia? What do they live on, the planet seemed a bit like a wasteland. Are there any cities? Farms?

The bigger point would be, this is a whole new galaxy that they can travel to. This is a massive addition to the setting. Now a galaxy is VERY BIG but now we add one other galaxy and if they can go there, why not others galaxies? Now the setting is even bigger.

But why do this? Adding a whole other galaxy, to me, would be to really expand the setting and add a lot of new stuff. And so far, I have not really seen that. Sure, this is the first time and it likely will get expanded on. But to me, what we have seen did not require a whole new galaxy.
Imagine instead if Perdia was in some area of the SW galaxy that you can not travel to using normal hyperspace. The area around it messes with hyperspace and ships get pulled out and destroyed. You need first a map and then some special type of engine. The star-whales can go there because they do not use normal hyperspace. So we have the map and all that but we stay in this galaxy.
You could even have that the witches of Darthomir we imprisoned there by the jedi long, long ago and they want out, same as Thrawn. So the Jedi of old might have been responsible for making the area around Perdia this strange.

In closing and I am likely worrying over nothing, but if they leave this place and go back and nothing more comes from this, they it would be a bit of a waste. They have a whole new galaxy, do something with it.

    Bye for now.

I think that’s one of the odder things about the show. Especially as it starts with her being celebrated as a war hero. The reason they’re going this is to obvious, too, and a little disappointing: they felt they needed a teen protagonist for their target demographic. And that this audience wouldn’t care enough about a couple of middle-ages women (Ahsoka and Sabine) as the protagonists. So they made Sabine a teen at the heart of the show’s narrative conflict, they made Ahsoka still struggle with events from her adolescence, and then they gave us a middle-aged mother as a tertiary character - Hera. I wish they’d had the guts to give us a Sabine struggling with more middle-aged issues than teen ones, but here we are.

I still really like this show, mind you. Especially on a visual and tonal level. But I do wish some different narrative choices had been made.

Outside of Baylan's story, here are the two things I want to see:

    • Ahoska's coffee cup. It's been far too long since we've seen it! Give it to me!

    • One last shot of Ahsoka crossing her arms! There was a lot of good arm folding action earlier in the season but not so much lately. Let's have it!

This adventure has had some high and low points. Here we are on the eve of the last episode of season one. I think most will be tied up here, maybe not with a bow on top but we'll get some resolution of these long drawn out stories.
I would be happy to see a confrontation with Thrawn at the temple/Star Destroyer as he's about to head out. Him getting away to the GFFA will make me happy actually as now the story merges even more so with HTTE.

I need the show to show more Shin Hotti and her conflict. I would like to see the show NOT end with Baylan looking away at some distant power. More rock turtles for my son and I would assume we won't find out what's in the caskets until the movie.

I felt this show could have been trimmed to a solid D+ film. I feel like it was unnecessarily bloated and took too long to get to the point or start offering answers for the sake of padding out an 8 episode season and setting up future shows. And some of the characters’ behaviors just seemed frustratingly unbelievable in avoiding certain elephants in the room for the sake of kicking the can down the road to address them later.

Really, I’d put this a step above TBoBF and behind just about everything else.

It's strange. I feel like this season could have been 8-10 episodes. But as is, it was also full of a lot of filler and slower moments. (And I rather enjoyed most of the slow moments tbh) and the season we saw could have been told in 5-6 episodes.

90% of Thrawn was repeating the same distraction strategy so that they could eventually, eventually, eventually lift off and go home.

While this season accomplished some baseline things, it simply felt like it had the potential for so much more, especially on the character front. When I think of every key character in this season, I can't think of a single one in which I was satisfied overall with their story. Everybody has missing gaps and motivations to some extent, or are otherwise too vague to be truly engaging.

Put more bluntly, while I do think this season had some very good moments, I think I would rank it behind every season of Rebels.

This show’s first season has an unconventional narrative structure but itself; it’s likely it will eventually slot into a more conventional one when the other shows wrap up and the movie is out, but it’s also not really designed to be a stand-alone story at all.

First off, you still likely require at least some of the previous TV shows to really invest in the leads of Ahsoka and Sabine. The show does a solid job getting them across, but their arcs in the season are comparatively small, though present.

Second, there is no one single clear cut primary antagonist. Thrawn nominally occupies the spot, but is distanced from the heroes even upon his later introduction, and while exquisitely acted, is mostly just trying to get the hell away from Peridea. Baylan is magnetic and dominates the first two acts as a villainous character, but fades from sight shortly into Act III. Morgan is the most present and consistent mover among the villains, but a middleman in function.

Third, we have very unconventional conflicts in the long run. The characters largely sidestep any major internal conflict to drive the show beyond some sparse ones, while a major recurring plot point of the Act III is how much Thrawn knows he can only play keep away with the heroes given that he doesn’t have the resources to actually stop them (…at least by the narrative rules; military fiction is not one of Filoni’s strong points, and there’s clearly some “narrative delaying action.”)

Overall, it’s a strong series by the standards we have for D+ Star Wars shows… but has a strong “Keep up with the other neccessary stuff to contextualize how this two-to-three episodes worth of plot slots into a larger cross media narrative!” that might, honestly, be more “one part of many” than most of the MCU projects.

Considering this is Filoni's first live-action show, I think it's pretty amazing how good it turned out. I personally didn't think it would be this good. I'll have to rethink my average scores now that I've seen everything, but there was only really one subpar episode out of the eight.

A real accomplishment for Filoni, and I expect that he will continue to improve.

To sum up the whole season, for me it's the full SW package and I got everything I was waiting for and that's why it's definitely the best series. The series significantly expanded the SW world with a new galaxy and potentially unlimited possibilities for the future, which is what I was really counting on. Once again we have the Gods from Mortis shown, which almost made me fall off my chair and shows what awaits us in the next season. The lightsaber fights were amazing and were some of the best in SW, which I really missed in other series. Anakin's appearance and his interaction with Ahsoka was amazing. Overall, I had a great time watching "Ahsoka" and my only regret is that it has already ended and we will have to wait for the next seasons. I am going back to watch the entire series from the beginning.[face_peace]

Overall a really promising season and it definitely succeeded in being both a continuation of Rebels and a post ROTJ story.

My two criticisms are that we needed to see more of this mysterious power on Peridea and I was disappointed in Shin’s ending. The general public will have no idea what those statues represent and I felt Shin should have returned with Thrawn. However, her presence on Peridea does provide Filoni with a resolution to poor Ray’s death. Shin could carry on the story thread intended for Baylon if they don’t want to recast.

Loved Ep 1-6, didn't love 7-8. Overall, season 1 of Ahsoka was headed into the stratosphere amongst my favorite SW projects all-time. Now, I am not even sure it's my favorite season of a SW live action show. Either way, it was good and I enjoyed it.

Episodes 1 and 2 were great. Hera became one of my favorite Star Wars characters. Then it went downhill. It's an abomination. There's no continuity. No real thought into anything except for how cool everything looks. And they did that really well. It all looked amazing. But the story and writing were atrocious.

I bet Elsbeth fights Anakin in the WBW thing.

5-6 is being generous. My overall review is while it was cool to see the Rebels characters in living form, plus some great artwork in CGI, it's yet another Disney+ show in which very little substantially occurred.

The big speculation point is how important the Mortis stuff is in Filoni's direction. And that is about the mother Abeloth. That is about will Ahsoka become the daughter. Who will be the son if Anakin becomes the father.

A LOT occurred. And Filoni put a ton of thought into things. But at the same time often felt...IDK ...hollow?

I wonder if the way he writes and directs doesn't always work well for live action.

At the same time, we do have a pretty cool interconnected universe going on here between these shows.

The story will continue in season 4 of Mando, I'm pretty sure, which is pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to what will happen next. That's honestly the best "metric" for me.

This is mindless, bull****, pulpy fun. As intended. I think people want it to be more than what it is. I can be guiltt of that, too.

But I have been enjoying it.

I don’t know how to place it. But this series cemented that Star Wars is totally unrecognizable to me now, and has been going this direction since 2017 outside of a few animated shows

Guessing yes. The only way she would come back is with more magic. And the Mother's seemed quite content to leave her behind because she served their purpose. Their noting of her death seemed quite final.
