Gaming Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) & Battlefront 2 (2017) [Mod Approved]

so in one year we get battlefront 3? sweet.

 

While I also hope you can switch (I prefer first-person generally but I like the option), I'm actually surprised people are talking about the FPS thing as news, considering I always remember Battlefront I and II being considered a first person game and I never knew anyone who played in third-person.

However, I always played the game on PC, but I remember playing BF2 on PS2 once and it defaulted to playing in third-person. So maybe console players experienced most of it as a third person game?

 

It didn't default to third person unless it was specifically set to do so.

 

On PC First-Person was default, I believe Third-Person was default on consoles. I was expecting DICE's Battlefront to be first-person as it is their forte.

 

Well, if it was third person by default, I changed it in a heart beat.

 

Well they lost my support, i need a new ps2 now.

 

I could be wrong but I think BF2 defaulted to third person. One way or another, I prefer first person. My guess is the new Battlefront will be first person and MAYBE have a third person option.

I wonder what DICE will do for the game's campagin. The older games didn't have a story and were mostly the best of star wars battles, while recent battlefield games tend to be really big graphical showcase stories. My guess is were going to be playing as a group in the rebel army, who show up in the major battles as well as stuff made for the campagin.

 

The 2nd one had Rise of the Empire.........................

 

My guess is it will likely be similar to how the Battlefield campaigns are, short and action packed. I doubt we'll get a story worth remembering but it will probably be fun entertaining in any case. In the end, Battlefront will be all about the MP.

 

Which was actually an ok campaign. It wasn't cool enough to get me to play through more than once but it was fun to play as the Empire during Hoth.

 

I hope the instant action mode is back in the single player as well. I've never played Battlefront online because I don't have the stuff to connect the PS2. I just play Instant Action all the time.

 

MAKE IT HAPPEN!! Instant action was something I was stuck to as well. I didn't have the items to connect my PS2 online. Even though I was just playing with and against bots, I still had lots of fun. I even feel as though that instant action was something unique to the Battlefront games.

 

I'd love Instant Action as well, but I'm sure if it'll happen. BF4 doesn't have it; I'm not sure if other modern shooters do or don't though.

 

Yeah, I know the Battlefields don't have it. Although, the newer COD games do. COD: Ghosts, I think COD: Black Ops I and II have it. It's not called "Instant Action" rather it is the private matches in Ghosts, and from what my friend tells me, Combat Training in Black Ops.

 

I'd also like something like the Firefight in the Halo games where you fight off enemies that get harder as it goes on and has split screen to play with friends.

I've done some reading, and there have been people saying they want something like the COD zombies, surviving waves of zombies, turning the power on, and surviving as long as you can. I personally find this to be an absolute train wreck of an idea. Zombies in Star Wars? As Dr. Evil would say...

One feature I hope they include in battlefront 3 is the option to choose what hero you can play as on whatever planet your fighting on (that's if they do keep the hero feature)

 

Agree on hundreds of levels. One thing I've always wanted.

 

I hope they let the enemy team have a hero if you're one, it's too unfair if you're just slicing through their whole army with no effort.

 

I can agree with that. After you hit a hero in BFII you pretty much won yourself the game. Having an opposing hero would be pretty cool.

 

Hope hero assault mode comes back too....though it'd need to be available on every planet and a little fairer I mean has anyone ever won as the villains?
