You guys do realize that Renegade Squadron is technically Battlefront 3

No, tecnichally it's the 3rd Battlefront game. It's not a sequel to Battlefront 2, so it technically isn't Battlefront 3.

Do you think Call of Duty 4 was the 4th game in the Call of Duty series?

Actually it was a spin off of the Battlefront series made solely for the handheld system.

"Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron is a video game that is a spin-off of the Star Wars: Battlefront series of shooters which is available exclusively on the PSP. Developed by Rebellion Developments and published by LucasArts, it was released in October of 2007"

I'm hoping they keep the customization of Renegade Squadron, but do away with the stupid tickets or whatever it's called. That was the most frustrating part of customization, having to do freaking math to figure out what you'd have to take away to get what you need.

Yeah the medical portion should be shored up, but i would like it if it contained a complex system, registering how far the bolt had to go before hitting the trooper, where it hit, and if it's deep or not. Then the medic would have to crouch by him and treat the wounded area, and get the wounded soldier away from the combat zone

he doesnt have to get him away from the combat zone. he can just heal him on the spot or just drag him where this is some cover

I disagree. The class system is more realistic, balanced, and fun (imo).

As a battlefield/front game, teamwork should be promoted. With customization, the opposite is being encouraged. People think more of personal glory than the success of the team. Look at modern militaries, why do you think they wear uniforms?

Also, if everyone is running around as a super-duper soldier with the best weapons and ammo, how fun will that be? It defeats the idea of being a normal soldier in Star Wars that BF is all about. It wouldn't make for a balanced game either.

I hate to use this word so much, but I think the customization in RS was a gimmick. They used it to be different, and to attract more buyers. If you think about it, Renegade Squadron, without the customization, is just a BF2 map pack for PSP.

i think there should be the Death Star map from SWTFU. it would probably interesting.

anyway there should be weather on some maps. Dust/Sand Storms on Tatooine and Geonosis, snow storms on Hoth and Renvar, and on all or most land maps it changes from night to day while ur playing or it starts at that weather randomly.

    For example: sunset at Naboo
    Night time on Tantooine
Dust Strom and Night on Tatooine.

im really starting to think that ranks get differnt colors, less colors, or colors on differnt part of their bodies. that way we dont have to really worry about customization.

I agree. I think that the only customization should be weapons, and perhaps something similar to the perk system from CoD 4. I want to see a Battlefront game that takes not a small step from its predecessor (Some people like me say that Battlefront 2 took a small step backwards from Battlefront), but a giant leap forward. I would like to see a Battlefront game that has a completely new game engine, a game engine influenced by other popular shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty 4.

    Yes, well said.

I consider BF2 a very small step ahead of BF1. While we did get decent (not great) space battles and some new features, we lost most of the best maps from BF1. The graphics were also farily identical.

BF3 needs to be a major improvement, taking into account that it has been exactly 3 years and 1 day since BF2 came out (Happy B-Day BF2!). And also the fact that a whole new generation of consoles has already hit its apex.

It has been well over 4 years since BF1 came out. I can't believe it.

Agreed. Different types of uniforms would be good.

Class (not individual) customization could work too.

maybe you should be able to customize your uniform based on the team
(i.e.:empire only gets empire stuff, rebels only get rebel clothes, etc...)
except cis: droids can't really have a fashion opinion. lol

By the way the picture at the top of the page is awesome :]

perhaps there could be Vietnam-style variations of armor where troops draw symbols and illustrations on their armor. Maybe not for the empire and cis, but a BIG maybe for the republic and a yes for the rebels

the Imperial and Republic's helmets or uniform should differ from every other lower rank.

Anybody seen the Battlefield 2142 First Strike mod? http://www.fsmod.com/
Maybe they could borrow some ideas from that for the next installment in the battlefront series.

I wonder what the SWBF3 commericial would be like. it should start out as 1st person view fighting on the battlefield. they should make 4 versions of that: Clones, Empire, CIS, and Rebels. it should be something like one of the WWII COD comericials or Band of Brothers commercial. something like that

Wow i am late here! hey still have not released BFIII so maybe i can put in a good idea, even though most to all conversation here is gone since the last post before mine was in 06 lol. Anyways, Im a big fan of the BF seires, i had BFI for my PC, although i had some bugs with it, and BFII for my Ps2. Im getting a PS3 and Xbox360 hopefully soon so if they make it for them im all set!

As for your space idea, if anyone has ever played Dynasty Warriors, What they do is they make an 'expansion' of a different disc. Like they have Dynasty Warriors 5, then they have the Two expansion discs. One is Xtreme Legends, where they add some different modes and concepts to it, but keep existing data from your memory card if you want. The other is Empires which is played on a strategic map and not on a career mode. By doing this they can focus on the main concepts they need or want to in the game(but its annoying if you buy the next version and almost nothing is new!)

So if Star Wars did that they could name it like an expansion disc off of it if anyone gets what im saying. Now i have to go back the read the last 7 pages lol. Wow i was looking at 10 pages, i didnt realize there was still talk about this! So correction to me i need to go read the last 180 somehting pages!

EDIT: Some other ideas i had were:

-For each soldier, they can have a set of weapons that can be upgraded as you get more kills with that type of soldier in the whole game or so. but not like the last one would be the best because it would get boring after awhile, but each weapon could have benefits to the soldier.

-Creating Mode in which the gamer may create maps, factions, classes etc.

-Add some new factions if possible, the old ones get old ater you play the game for a long time.

-Definitely some new maps, maybe create some whole new planets if needed.

-Add some new classes to the game for the factions, it would add more interest.

I just got an idea for using the DLC feature so you can download extra maps, weapons, heroes, and/or factions that the mainstream might not want in their game but the fanatics would. stuff like legacy era and the old republic era sith war stuff, as well as planets like Trandosha and Iktotch or Malastare and Boz Pity, etc. Guitar Hero uses it and Soul Calibur 4 brought it into fighting games, so now it's time for it to be utilized in a product label shooter like SW Battlefront. I don't know if Halo, Call of Duty, or any of the other shooters have done it yet, but it's a good way to give everyone what they want, and they can make some extra coin in the process. double plus

Or better yet have new weapons include in an online update which would be free, but map packs would cost.
