I know! That level was a pain in the rear. ~shudder~ I hate them so much!

LAJ_FETT, that's really odd. I died on that level once when I had no idea what I was supposed to do, but once I saw the tunnels, it was very easy. The best thing to do is to jet from transport to transport gradually down, only one level at a time. That decreases your chance of plummeting and gives you more jet boost. Once you get to a relatively low transport, ride it to the other side, and once there, keep going to lower and lower ones until you're on the bottom one. Then fall down into the tunnel using jet, so the game doesn't think you're falling.

    If that doesn't work...hmm.

I just rented this game and I am very impressed. Like someone said before I went ahead and decided to play bounty hunter rather than vice city. I am definatley going to buy this game. Good job Lucasarts. But I was wondering if someone could help me out a bit. I'm stuck on the level in the first chapter where your with all the conveyer belts. I keep tryin to get to the top of the atrium, but I keep sliding off because one of the conveyer belts that I'm trying to reach is too high. Any help here would be hot. Sorry if this has been asked before.

Katarn15 - I found this level a bit of a pain as well. Your objective is to get to a belt way up where the magnetic field is not working, so you can use the fuel barrels to blast your way through the door. (Look up - you can see it sparking). Under no circumstances go through one of these fields!
I basically ran up the belts to get to a point where I could easily jet up to the next, looking out for bad guys all the while. I eventually made it up, but not before quite a few trips to the bottom. And just a note - once you do get thru the belts
and a corridor, you will enter a hangar area. Watch out for the ship!
YoungJedi11 - thanks. I think I am riding the first transport too far over to the opposite side before switching. I am not a gamer so this has been a learning curve. But I am a major Fett fan so when I heard about this I bought the PS2 just to play it. I will get there in the end - just a lot later than you experts. And having the Strategy Guide does help a lot.

Well, I inadvertantly found a rather unique solution to the nerf chasm. Jumped down to a transport 2 levels straight down as it was going out, rode it all the way across til almost the last minute, stepped off the side with the middle tunnel straight below and just hit the jetpack thrust in bursts. As I fell past the middle pipe I gave it forward thrust for all it was worth straight through the continue point and then shot the bad guy in the pipe. Lost half my life so if you use this controlled free-fall method make sure you have a full life and a few continues. And I think the middle pipe has the only continue point of the 3.

..all three are the pipes are connected..

The continue point is at the front of the middle pipe, but you would be able to access it from the other two pipes...

I know they are connected, but if I was going to try that maneuver and die doing it I wanted to make sure I flew thru the continue point before I died! Hence the only choice was the middle pipe. As it was I only lost half my life when I finally hit the floor. I knew the continue point was there - had seen it enough times plummeting past that pipe..

I'm stuck on the first level of Malastre. I'm at the part where you're apparently supposed to be covering Zam, though for some reason I can't find her. I would appreciate any help anyone has to offer.

You don't actually "cover" Zam until you're at the end of the second half of that level. That First Malastare level is in two parts--the second loads after you plop down into a hole in the ground inside the Gran villiage (you know, the dudes with the three eyes).

Near the end of that second half, you'll hear Zam calling for you--she's across a chasm where you have a good sniper view. You'll need to zoom in all the way and look for her (after you kill all the Grans on your side of the cliff).

You'll need to keep an eye out for Dugs that come out of their little huts and blast 'em before they blast Zam.

Yeah I know about the two parts and I'm at the end of the second part, anyway, how exactly do you zoom in with the sniper, after pressing Z to aim?

Use the right stick forward to zoom in, backward to zoom out, once you're in sniper view. Left stick still aims.

    EDIT:

Wow, can't believe you played through the level without using the zoom. How'd you hit anyone?

I've been trying to find the secret in the Death Stick Factory. It's the only one I can't find and I'm getting sick of looking. I've looked for some strategy guides but don't seem to be able to find any.

Overall I really enjoyed this game and all the challenges that it takes to beat. It definatly was a huge step up from Clone Wars.

Well, actually, I didn't use the sniper too much, I thought it seemed pretty hard to hit anyone far away though.

Darthmusic - if that is the level where you end up confronting Montross then it is
all the way around that circular structure
on the ground floor (before you start jetting up the levels).
Sorry to be vague but I don't have the Strategy Guide with me at the moment.
And there is an Official Strategy Guide. I bought mine in a Game store here in the UK but I have seen it both on Amazon US and Amazon UK.

Darthmusic - my apologies. Now that I am looking at the Strategy Guide I realize I had the wrong level. I posted the answer to your query a few pages earlier - here is the repeat:
It is near the beginning. You have slid down a large duct and have encountered a couple of Dugs. After you shoot them, you look down and see a chute opening. You go down that and you are supposed to head left at the end onto a piece of metal and then a ledge. You land on a balcony and take out another couple of Dugs. You then go thru a door to the left of the balcony and the feather is in an alcove there. The Guide says it is the most difficult to obtain .

Does anyone have any tips on how to beat Montross on Malastre? I just reached him today and I was a little low on health and continues so he beat me pretty easily.

Not that I enjoy telling people how to waste my namesake :)

But you'll find regenerating rockets inside that docked freighter that you can use to lock onto and blast Montross. It takes 5 to 10 rockets--can't remember exactly. And you can still hammer away at him with blasters. But be careful if you try to get on top of the freighter to keep blasting him, cuz there's a mean bat-creature zipping around. It's an omen of things to come when you get to chapter 6.

Basically just keep up the pressure on Montross, and remember to jump out of the way of rockets he launches at you.

Darthmusic: I had the same problem trying to obtain that secret. I got it now thanks to LAJ_Fett. ;) Its on the balcony in the second room. As soon as your sliding down the duct be ready to jet onto a small ledge to the left. Wait for your fuel to recharge, then hop on the balcony on kill the dugs. The secret is inside the door.

QuiGon - I will try to describe the layout in the Strategy Guide. There is a central hub with 3 outlying towers (the reactors) and an outlying hangar area. In the central hub are extra jetpack fuel pickups. There is a continue point in each corridor . The corridors to the reactors start in the central hub. It looks like you cannot go directly from one reactor to the next - you must return to the central hub.
Each corridor leading to a reactor has an Aurebesh symbol on the floor near the continue point that tells what reactor it is.
It looks like the colors are red, green, and white. If you go down a corridor and don't hit a continue point it means you have already been there. Hope this helps!
