Star Wars characters vs. Lord of the Rings characters

I think I could only equate Boba Fett with 'the squint-eyed Southerner' from the inn. (That's only in the book.) He's a small role, but Fett was supposed to be as well, before Lucas found out how popular he was. Also, I'm pretty sure that the Southerner tipped off the Nazgul to Frodo's whereabouts, while Fett did the same with Vader.

Obi-Wan=Faramir/Boromir [good morals but gets side tracted abit, not to the extent of Boro of course]
Chewbacca=Gimli
C-3PO=Pippin
R2-D2=Merry
Vader=Saruman/Gollum [betrayer and wicked]
Yoda=Gandalf
Uncle Ben=Bilbo
Empeor=Sauron
Leia=Eowyn

 

Aragorn= Luke
Legolas= Han Solo
Gimli= Chewbacca
Gandalf= Obi-Wan (theve both inteligence and r strong
Bilbo= Yoda
Frodo= Anakin (he gets subduced by the dark side, while Frodo in the end was subduced by the ring)
Sam=
Merry= R2-D2
Pipin= C3PO
Sauron= The emperor
Saurumon= Suited vader
Gollum/Smegeol= Jabba the hut
Eowyn= Leia
Ring Wraths= Boba/ Jango Fett

 

I`d say Luke is more line Aragorn than Frodo.

Luke/Aragorn both know they have a dark family tree,and can choose to join it or become something more,they choose the later.

Palpatine=Sauron

Dooku=Sauruman

Darth Maul = that 'vampire'type guy who meets Aragorn at the gates in the Special Extended edition of ROTK!

Both mean nasty looking dudes, who get killed WAY too early!

Lando = Boramir - great warrior, good guy, but can you REALLY trust him?

Chewbacca = Faramir - Great Warrior, loyal, completely over looked!

Mace Windu = Legolas, warrior of legend, really kicks ass, and stands over defeated enemy with same 'I just kicked YOUR ass' look in their face!

Rancor = Cave troll
Sarlacc = Squid type creature from FOTR

Han = Aragorn - Cool guy, gets the chick!

Grievous=Witch King.

Both are subserviant to a higher power, both were transformed by that power, both command a vast army, both look cool and kick ass.

I think that's pretty accurate.


And now I'm gonna be picturing Mumakil in the background is there's a big ground battle with Grievous.

 

the notion that sam=artoo seems to be the most right on comparisson yet. clearly both are stout companions that never falter in the face of adversity. also, they both always carry all their gear around even when they don't need to. of course, artoo's gear is all built up within him, whereas sam needs a huge backpack. but both sam and artoo always have the right idea, and they're both very helpful.

 

Luke is more like Legolas - not the best actors but they are both ******* sexy!!! Frodo was BUTT UGLY.

Also Han Solo does not resemble Aragorn. That is Ewan Obi-Wan, because both are considered the action heros of their respected trilogies, not to mention both actors are underated. Also Ewan and Viggo's bodies are NOTHING like Harrison's. His is flabby in parts, while Ewan and Viggo have very tonned average sized bodies.

Leia is like Eowyn, because both actresses are underated plus they are tough and pretty, and don't need to wear over-the-top costumes to look good like Padme and Arwen do.

Alec Obi-Wan is like Gandalf, because they are wizards.

C-3PO & R2-D2 are Merry and Pippin, except Dom and Billy were actually attractive under that hidious Hobbit make-up and wigs. Plus they are funny.

You could also say Miranda Otto is a female Mark Hamill, and Bernard Hill is Sebastion Shaw, since both the Eowyn/Theoden scene and Luke/Vader scenes are IDENTICAL!!! The difference is a slight modification in dialogue. These LOTR vs. SW battles need to end, because it is obvious both series have ripped things off each other, making them equal.

Also with Artoo and Sam both of them are the REAL heros, when you think about it. I mean "Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam" and it's true. And how many times has Artoo done something that's saved everyone's lives?

AOTC: Stops Padme from getting killed
ROTS: ????
ANH: Finds out that Princess Leia is being held in the detention center
ESB: Fixes the Hyperdrive on the Millenium Falcon
ROTJ: Throw Luke his lightsaber, enabling him to fight and save everyone.



Also, nice list Angela_Russell. I wouldn't agree with all of them, but most of them are quite the hotties, aren't they.

Old Trilogy:

Sauron = Palpatine
Controls everything.

Saruman = Moff Tarkin
Overconfident. More like commanders. Both get an ass whoopin...

Witch King = Vader
Witch King hunts Hobbits, Vader hunts Jedi. Both hounds of the shadow.

Gothmog = Jerjerrod
Both servants of a greater power.

Aragorn = Han
Han helps out Luke, Aragorn helps out Frodo.

Gimli = Chewie
Closest relation I can manage. Both are bulky warriors, although Gimli is short and Chewie tall. Both are hairy too

Legolas = Lando
Closest relation I can make.

Frodo = Luke
Main characters with a quest, although Luke can fight and Frodo cries.

Sam = Yoda
Helps Luke/Frodo. Closest relation I can make.

Pippin and Merry = C3PO and R2D2
Purely comic reliefs.

Gandalf = Ben Kenobi
Obvious.

 

Grievous = Witch King

Siddious is Sauron,the big bad who has others do his dirty work

Vader is the Witch-King, both heroes that have been enslaved by their masters to lead their forces

Dooku is Saruman because they've both betrayed their orders and are both Chris Lee

Darth Maul is the Balrog;both were inspired by demons and both kill a jedi/wizard

Nute Gunray is Grima;both work the Dooku/Saruman character and use decit as their main weapon:

"our blockade is perfectly legal"
"saruman has ever been our friend and ally"

Jango Fett is Lurtz(movie only) They're both relenless hunters working for Dooku/Saruman and Lurtz is the first uruk of Sauron's new orc army as Jango is the first of Siddious' stormtrooper army

Grevious is uh...the Black Lieutenant because i got nothing else

Gothmog? Sadly, that makes sense. I still say that Grievous is the Witch King.

You're right in almost every except that in all honesty he didn't really kick ass. Both Darth Maul and Jango Fett killed jedi onscreen but Grevious just ran away. That's why he much less worthy than being compared to the Lord of the Nazgul in my humble opinion
