Damn! This baby gets tough really fast! Got to the snow planet and am helping with the evacuation. LOTS of enemies, and now they've got what seems like an endless supply of dropships! I can get through it up to the point where I have to go evacuate the Jedi outpost, but then when I come back to base and the CIS has the base surrounded, they manage to punch through and kill Obi Wan every time no matter how quickly I take them out.

A game that's not a total cinch... nice!

And this thing looks really good too. Framerate seems fine, and the few slowdowns I've seen don't bug me much.

Hey Patrick, I'm stuck at the exact same part as you. Obi-Wan always dies.

...i just finished that snow level...

***MISSION SPOILERS FOR THE SNOW LEVEL***

The trick is to concentrate SOLELY on the
dropships and tanks that appear on the farside (relative to the direction that you return from after rescuing the jedi), since that's the side that the evacuation transports are parked on..

Take out all the tanks on that side, and then just fly back and forth, taking out the two dropships that continue to appear BEFORE they can drop more tanks.. It's pretty easy, once you figure out that there are two dropships that you don't have to worry about..

Particle beam and missile like crazy, and you'll get those evacuees out of there..

This was the first mission on which i completed ALL of the bonus objectives...

It's official: I love this game..

"Anakin, wait, we should call this in!"

".....You're right, we should call this in."

"Anakin, wait, we should call this in!"

".....You're right, we should call this in."

Y'know, when a videogame is sporting snappier dialogue than the movie it's based on, there are issues afoot. ;)

..ya know, i was thinking that as well, Patrick..

That line really made me smile..

Wait until the next level.. There's a nice little tribute to "Return of the Jedi"..... :)

There's a nice homage to ROTJ later in the game too, during a briefing sequence.

I won't spoil it, but Anakin gets some good dialogue in with Obi-Wan at the end of the game, as well as with a hologram of (somebody who'll I'll keep nameless to avoid spoilers) mid way through the game.

What makes it even better is the aforementioned fantastic voice work in the game- with the voice actors sounding so close to the movie actors, it makes these moments of great dialogue stand out even more ::)

Everyone does a good job except the guy that plays obi wan (He does an ok job). He trys so hard to sound like Ewan who is trying to sound like Alec Guiness its almost impossible, but Obi Wan has like a lisp in this game. Its close enough for me though. Mace and Anakin do a really good job.

Enter the code: chosen1 to get infinite ammo.

That's right, never run out of composite lasers on your gunship.

    Bwa ha ha!

That's an awesome code, Rogue. I will surely try that out after I beat the game. Right now I'm stuck on the level on Kashyyk where you escape that pink cloud of dust on the speeders...

I beat it on padawan mode the first night I had it.

And that STAP level is crazy! As well as the speeder bike level. That is some fast flying.
It took me a couple of tries to get past the fog of doom but I luckily made it.

And if you want to totally skip it, try the code : fragfiesta

    or maybe it's: yub yub

    I forget.

..yeah, that STAP level was pretty crazy..

Fun as all get out, though.. Love the speed (i'm startin' to get used to the lightsaber levels, now.. They're still not GREAT, but being black-gloved Anakin is pretty cool)..

The only advice i can give with the STAP is "Don't hit those trees, and turbo boost whenever you can"...

I LOVE the storyline of this game.. You ACTUALLY feel as if this could be a continuation of "Attack of the Clones"...

And *slight spoiler* it's pretty nifty to actually see Obi-Wan doing some general-type stuff!

If i have ONE complaint, it's that the level of difficulty of the bosses seems to fluctuate to much. One boss will be a joke (The Harbinger), while the boss from earlier ON (Protodeka) leaned more to the "man, i'll never beat this thing" level......

Superblasters are the first powerup in a long time that i actually find myself going "YES!" whenever i pick'em up...

I thought the Protodeka was fairly easy. The trick is to stay behind the big building in the middle and just kind of creep around the corner to where you can hit him and he can't hit you. Eventually the building will blow up. At that point you fire the remainder of your rockets and turbo boost to the next refill of rockets. After that just keep firing all your rockets at once then turbo boosting to health and more rockets.

The Protodeka was pretty nasty the first couple times... the Harbinger seemed to take forever to kill (just couldn't seem to get my weapons to lock onto the targets on that thing without getting really close to it). The superlasers really help out on the twin-Protodekas... Tank-based enemies like Prax and the Dark Acolytes are fairly easy. The Dark Reaper IS pretty hard though.

Anybody know how to enable the progressive scan on clone wars for gamecube? They had it in the options menu in rogue leader but I can't find it anywhere here. It doesn't say in the instruction booklet. I even tried the trick where you enable prog scan with rogue leader and then switch the disk and it didn't work. I get the feeling that lucasarts just dropped the feature even though it's listed on their site. any ideas?

Just either hit start during the game, it's in there, or go to options in the main menu. It's easy,

Try the code: rogerroger for the use of a battledroid in the arena.

I haven't confirmed if it works yet though.

It may be: roger roger (with a space between 'em)

Sorry, no infinite lives code yet.

...hmmm, see i tried the strategy of staying behind that building in the middle, but it seemed to take the Protodeka about two seconds to destroy it, so i stopped bothering after awhile (note: What difficulty level are you playing on? I started off on Jedi Knight.. If you're on Padawan, maybe you have more time to hide behind that thing before it blows.. Honestly, though, on Jedi Knight, you have maybe 10 seconds at the most to hide behind it)

Eventually i'd just do turboboost-assited Circle Strafes to try to get around behind the thing, then i'd missile it to death until i didn't have anything left, and then i'd turbo boost away to nab the next set of missile-reloads..Seemed like the Protodeka could turn awful quickly, though.. You'd have about 7 seconds in behind it to unleash hellfire, and then you'd have to start circling again....

    In other news:

Anyone else frustrated by the controls of the walker?? Sure, it's neat to be able to turn the head of your turret, but after becoming so dependant on the circle-strafing technique, i dunno.. It's just a heckuvan adjustment... (I don't know how often i've gone head on at an AAT tank, blasting away, and then, as i see the cannon charging up, i smugly hit the strafe button.....and my head turns.......Boy, did i lose alot of walkers in the early going :)

I beat it out of luck I guess. I think turbo boost is the best asset you've got against this thing. Try circular straffing by straffing 1 way and pushing the joystick the other way.

It helps when its blasting but not with the missles.

With some of these bosses, it seems blasters are just effective as missles.

Its pretty hilarious at the end when he tells obi wan to shove his reinforcement up his ass and can take the last boss by himself.

    LMFAO! That's Anakin alright!

    :)
