Nice trailer, terrible studio and people creating it and most likely not for every player or PC/Mac users, so big boooooo from me! Storywise, I think this deals indeed with the Rise of the Trade Federation in the Outer Rim. But as for their main nemesis, I think the soldiers we have seen might be Zygerrians and the TDF facing off with the Zygerrian Slaver Empire big time! Zygerria is located on the galaxy map between the Corporate Sector and Sith Space, close also to Malachor, Almania and Makem Te. I think we are dealing with this entire region of the Rim in the game primarily. Makem Te is known for spirituality akin to Jedha and likewise places may be near by this spiritual region of the galaxy, including some dark side cults of course given the closeness to Sith Space and Almania! Maybe Malachor will come into play in the High Republic Era big time with ties to its ancient past and some crossguard lightsabers the Rebels found on it belonging to the High Republic era? Anyway, the triangle of space we are dealing with here is interesting: Future corporate sector rich in plenty of ressources, Sith space for manipulations, religious groups, Mon Calamari, Zygerrians as an empire and nemesis locally and Malachor for ancient ties? That droid was not C3PO though... but maybe some parts of him will end up being used for 3PO? Loved the crashed N1-Starfighter in the ocean too! When were they introduced? Maybe that helps more with the timeline than the Lucrehulc. The Jedi Temple reminded me a bit of GE's ILMxLabs Baatu temple but it probably is another one and not that. I also noticed some Sequel Concept Art being reused for world building here, like an abandoned concept for Ach-To and Luke's First Temple in the background of another scene. PS: Mggnal-Mggnal or Typhojem are not in the trailer as much as we would like that. That black goo probably is some dark side bacta.
Or earlier, on that basis alone, since Yoda's just on a sabbatical from the Council as of Light of the Jedi.
I have seen people saying that in a few places...but then where are the big ears their helmets are built around? Not sure myself. They might help place the geography though - not like there is a lot of reason for a N1 to be far from Naboo after all... Also I spotted a Courscant Freighter from episode 2, the kind that Anakin and Padme traveled on in disguise, docked at not!Jeddha, so the more I think about it, the more it seems at least close to the PT timeframe, maybe like 50 or so years before. Or a lot of ships are far older than originally thought.
The ears can be folded flat to the side of the hat probably... But... if it is a Nightmare? Pity it wasn't golden goo... or else we would scream WARU all over the place. Unless it is Waru in his early goth phase! I think Mggnal-Mggnal would not be a good nemesis for the High Republic. Been there, done that. The Drengir basically were green goo with tentacles that can grow into shapes... repeating that in black, nah. Keep Mggnal to the UR and use it better. Maybe the black goo pit is kinda like FOTJ's Lake and Font that can turn people into gods and a cult uses them to empower their leader into godhood? Not the God of Rot though.
I don't think mnggal mnggal would be a repeat of Drengir its different enough from them. Waru woulda be great. the lake and font hmmmm
had the same thought initially, but if we might get some Tionese or other areas local cultures and life action designs it may be as cool. Also thought these guys might be Falleen but other options stuck more with me.
I think the timeframe that makes the most sense for this game is between 92-82BBY. The last years of the High Republic era (fitting with Eclipse title) Good reason to have prequel era ships that are still in use by 32BBY (TPM) while still having ships unique to the HR era, did not pass over into the prequels. Maybe we could even see some ships from 232BBY (year HR books began in) still in use. This game has to feel like it’s near the end of the HR era while having enough visual differences to separate itself from the upcoming prequel era.
Ooooh... that means we could get Baby Palpatine and Dooku! Cuuuuute... byebye BabyYoda, I want Sith Babies! Hope nobody hurts Baby Palpatine.. he is so innocent and cute! (and maybe even played by Matt Smith)
Great observations. The black goo is probably dark side bacta as you said. We just saw something similar in SW Visions.
I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but at about 0:48, behind the Mon Calamari, I think its a Mandalorian Neo Crusader????
I don't think so. If notice in the background, the troops are marching out of one of the Y shaped battleships that the Trade Federation ships were fighting later. Though I did notice that instead of droid fighters, the Federation (or allies? Someone fighting against the Y faction) seem to be using...well, hard to see for certain, but something like looks like a combo of early concepts for Naboo and Federation fighters.
So what other faction enemy are we thinking, it seems like the grey voldermoth aliens and this alien faction fighting the trade Fedaration are two different enemies, also jedi fighing a small army in a snow planet of natives.
Depends on the year- closer to TPM the more likely we could see a Gunray. But, at the same time, I don't think its ever been implied that the TF operates with a ruling family line, and would make more sense for opportunistic Neimoidians to have more rotation in their leadership positions over longer stretches of time.
I would say this is at least 100 years before the Phantom Menace. Far enough from books and movies could be prequel to Acolyte in a way.
