Ever since getting the ROTS DVD, I've been entertaining the idea to get some video-editing software and put the deleted scenes back into the film, then check it out to see if it fits (for me, anyway).

My question is, where are these deleted scenes supposed to go in the movie? An exact location would be great. Kind of like in a:
    ________________________________________________________
    Original Scene - description

Deleted Scene - title and/or description

Original Scene - description of the scene that follows (which... I guess.... wouldn't be necessary... duh)
    ________________________________________________________

    format.

If anyone has a good idea, or definitely positive, please post it here. I have some general ideas about where exactly they were supposed to be, but I'd also like to get people's opinions on where they think these scenes fit into the rest of the film. Thanx to all!

When Padme says she wants to speak with a Jedi she trusts, does she mean Anakin or Obi-wan? I think Anakin because of their marriage and how they keep secrets, but Anakin is friends with Palpatine and Obi-wan would probably be more helpful and supportive of her cause.

Good theory on the Obi-Wan aspect, but I think it's Anakin. I think this scene your describing takes another scene to a whole new level. I'm talking about the scene where Anakin and Padme are "looking" at eachother from across Coruscant, when Anakin is contemplating what to do, while Mace and the posse are going to arrest Palpatine. Beforehand, we only see Anakin in turmoil, but with this new scene, we see that Padme is also in turmoil, wanting to tell her husband about the growing unrest that gives birth to the Rebellion.

Which I think makes that scene a thousand times better. Too bad they took out the complimentary deleted scene, but oh well.

It's definitely Anakin that Padmé is speaking of in the Seeds of Rebellion deleted scene. George says so in the intro.

As for where the deleted scenes fit into the film, I know most of them:

    1) General Grievous Slaughters a Jedi: I don't know where this takes place.

    2) A Stirring in the Senate: takes place after the scene in which Palpatine tells Anakin he is being made the former's personal representative on the Jedi Council, i.e. after "They need you... more than you know."

    3) Seeds of Rebellion: fits in after the Battle of Kashyyk.

    4) Confronting the Chancellor: happens after Grievous flees in his wheel scooter and Obi-Wan gives chase on Boga.

    5) A Plot To Destroy The Jedi: Don't know when this fits in either. I think it was substituted for the scene in the Jedi War Room where Mace says the line to the holograms of Ki-Adi-Mundi, Aayla Secura and Commander Cody.

    6) Exiled To Dagobah: takes place after Padmé's funeral on Naboo.

    Hope that helped. :)

actually in the script it was obi wan, there was one scene, not restored, between padme and obi wan that showed that was who she was talking about. part of that scene is in one of those webdocs, dont remember which right now.

Yeah, you're absolutly right! (like u did'nt know that:)) I had forgotton that she wanted to confide in Anakin, but shocked even herself by thinking of confiding in Obi-Wan instead. Good call.[face_peace]

I know this is a scene in the book, but I was hoping it would be in with the deleted scenes - it should have been in the movie: Palpy tempting Ani with wealth and possessions, and more about following his own will, instead of the Jedi's or the Force.

Just my opinion. Didn't mean to interrupt.

General Grievous Slaughters a Jedi: I don't know where this takes place.

Aboard the IH, after Obi Wan and Anakin leave the hangar.
GL says that the original opening was an hour long, so they
had to make a lot of cuts.

Anakin and Obi Wan drop down into the fuel tank of the IH
and make their way up the superstructure.

The fuel ignites (what kind of jackass ship engineer puts sparklers
in a fuel tank?)and blows a big ole hole in the hull of the IH.
Anakin and Obi Wan then make their way up to the tower to confront Dooku.

    Hope that helps.

Should the Cave have had a cameo in the Dagobah scene?
It sounds stupid, but I am actually being serious.

The Grievous/Shaak-Ti scene is one which does not fit into the chronology of the film really - and it was finished specifically for the DVD
The scene was dropped during pick-ups in favour of a new death for Shaak-Ti (much later, in the temple), and a scene where the General's Magnaguards face Obi and Ani, rather than the General himself:

    10 INT. BRIDGE-TRADE FEDERATION CRUISER

GENERAL GRIEVOUS enters the bridge of the TRADE FEDERATION cruiser followed by his TWO BODYGUARDS. He walks to the front of the bridge and stands in front of the NEIMOIDIAN CAPTAIN.
(What's the situation, Captain? etc etc)

The Shaak-Ti scene would have gone here - but was replaced in the shooting script (which saw Shaak being killed later in the temple) with this:
    11 INT. HANGAR-TRADE FEDERATION CRUISER

ANAKIN and OBI-WAN head for the elevator. A door opens in the hallway and two of GENERAL GRIEVOUS's BODYGUARDS confront the JEDI.

BODYGUARD I: General Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker. We've been waiting for you.

OBI-WAN: We are here to relieve you of Chancellor Palpatine, not join him.

As a dozen more droids join the group, the JEDI ignite their lightsabers and stand back-to-back.

    OBI-WAN: Anakin. . .

    ANAKIN: Ready.

ANAKIN and OBI-WAN use their lightsabers and cut a large circle in the floor.

This was also dropped from the movie during editing and led into scenes 12-19 (the fuel rooms scenes, which are brutally edited down and tacked onto the end of the Shaak scene on the DVD)

The next scene (20) is the one where the Droidekas arrive.

Strictly speaking, the Shaak-Ti scene shouldn't be put back into the film, as it does not follow continuity (especially as Shaak is alive later in the film as a hologram on the Council).
But if you really want to put it in, that is where it should go - just before the scene where Ani shouts "Destroyers!"

The rest of the deleted scenes slot in as Anni_Padme describes above.

    :)

    Spreading Rumors

In a scene cut from the movie, Anakin Skywalker greets Chancellor Palpatine at the Senate building, where the elder statesman casually discusses "unfounded" rumors of Obi-Wan Kenobi carrying on with a female Senator.

You know i hate how anakin keeps folding his arms like that in that last picture. He keeps hugging his cloak. He did that at the start of AOTC when he says "Why? Why else do you think we were sent here? Secuirity is for local security..we're jedi its over kill" something like that. He's got his hands inside his cloak and trying to hug himself with it. Like he's cold.

Then in that very cool scene in ROTS when the emperor is talking to anakin about "stopping the ones you love from dying" and "have you ever heard of darth palagius (sp?)" During this whole cool scene anakin is huging himself again with his cloak. He's rapping his hands inside.

Can you imagine darth vader sitting like that? Anakin, Sit up straight man. Have your hands on top of the chair. be confident. Stop hugging yourself.

You know, as I watching one of the documentaries on the DVD, I noticed in one take it was showing Mace and Palaptine fighting and who was walking behindthem as they fought? None other than Anakin.

I also one saw a picture of Anakin/Obi Wan/Mace/Palaptine in something like the pciture with Palpatine/Mas/Royal Guards.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

In the original version of the fight, Anakin was present. The lightsabre used by Palps was his.

Also, you can see in the same doc that the "Sith will rule the galaxy" speech was done by Palps in his Devil Chancellor make-up and not his traditional Emperor look.

This was all altered in the reshoots.
