So it's Matt, not Ben. The plot thickens...

This was great. It's not canon though - he's not doing his actual Kylo voice from the film!;)

I loved the '00 days without an accident' sign and the apology card.

It would be amazing to see the rest of the cast get together for more stuff like this. You know John Boyega would kill it in a comedy sketch, and Daisy and Oscar would probably do well too.

<<<< Liked it, even changed my avatar to fit.

    My favorite part was:

Kylo Ren: "A buddy of mine saw Kylo Ren take his shirt off in the shower and he said he had an 8 pack. That Kylo Ren was shredded."
Stormtrooper: "What?!?! Your friend is a liar man, Kylo Ren is a punk b!tch.. That guy looks like he weighs 30 pounds soaking wet under that black dress."

Ya I seen SNL last night. Kylo ren was hilarious. My favorite part was when he took out his lightsaber to show everyone. And I really enjoyed seeing Adam Driver sing n being Aladdin singing with Jasmine.

Kylo Ren in his Matt disguise is just epic... Shows how versatile Adam really is then - being able to play BOTH the main TFA villain and a bumbling wireman in the same skit is just so amazingly good!

    "Dude, Matt straight up sucks!"

That was comedy gold. I'm definitely a Kylo Ren fan, and I think that skit should be canon!

I thought Disney didn't like these kinds of parodies? Why was Star Wars Detours canceled?

I love this skit because Driver is playing it as Kylo Ren, not playing Adam Driver in an SNL skit playing Kylo Ren but it really seems like the character with all the quirks and line delivery.

    anyway, youtubeable link embedded

Watched this skit at least a half dozen times...it rocked [face_laugh]

The only negative thing I noticed was Driver's botched line when that lady yells at him while he's working on the calcinator... "Will you stop yelling me?"

"I see what's in your mind. It. Is. STUPID!"

I can't wait till StarWars.com posts an article about Lieutenant Colonel Zack and the tragic loss of his son...plus a detailed description as to what the heck a calcinator is. :kylo:

EDIT: Double post thanks to EHT's thread merging :p

Lauren Michaels couldn't care less about what Disney thinks. My respect for Adam driver just went through the roof.

    Funny stuff!

The other beauty of this sketch was that it wasn't spoilerish by any means. You'd enjoy it even if you didn't see the film (with the knowledge that Kylo Ren is one of the bad guys), but you'd enjoy it much more if you did see it (the subtle references to his "I see what's in your mind" line, the lightsaber tantrum).

Dude, they also did an "Aladdin" parody in the same show. Come on now.

First of all Lucasfilm has always encouraged parodies of Star Wars (George Lucas always seems to enjoy them), and I think Disney pretty much lets Lucasfilms do what it wants as long as they bring in profits.

Anyway did any one else REALLY want that Stormtrooper to say: "Are you kidding? Kylo Ren got his butt kicked by that little girl!"

Rewatched the bit, there's this genius part at 2:07 where it starts with "Matt" just hovering behind the troopers and Bobby Moigahan's trooper jumps like "what the hell?!"

Solid episode overall, they had Driver play weird in a lot of skits which as fun.

Daisy and John popped up in a skit earlier this year (not the full skit, there's a bit where Michael Buble is singing to Ridley and she just smiles at him, pretty cute). Might be fully on youtube for American viewers, though, but not me :( anyway, still gold!:

I can think of 3 Star Wars skits SNL has done this year, the Kylo Ren one, that one, and this bit about collectibles

That's exactly my point. There was this whole thing where Disney didn't want to show Star Wars characters "out of character"
