I disagree - you might as well say if someone can't do the platforming with slow mode active they should give up. In either case, shame shouldn't be part of gaming.

I think there are couple of areas they could have gone further on the accessibility, but the suite of options here say Respawn wanted to do a game that almost everyone can play and even complete.

I was a good way off yeah. I was trying to find a way to drop down from other side but I was all over this area yesterday and don’t know why I didn’t see this step stone way highlighted. I fought the dinosaur and it magically appears I guess…

Damn window! Ok amending, I was close to this area but not on that other side from the meditation spot. I was thinking of a different bridge so that’s my bad.

Im going through this forest area now and it’s pretty fun. Just killed another dinosaur and another Wampa knockoff(like I said no joke on Jedi Master lvl) which makes for a nice exp run route to beef up skills

    Planet 2 stuff
so I’m not a High Republic fan but I’m thinking maybe the meteor shower in vision could be from the hyperspace incident in book 1.

I took me about 20 minutes repeating but I did the Fracture eventually. But yah I also ended up with that Wampa knock off and it killed me dead. But finding the direction to the tricreatop to open the Forrest gate is pretty vague, I also trekked around the map for hours (kept seeing the yellow highlighted area and walking around it) and when I found the tricreatop I thought it was a too high level creature but use Force slow it should be fine

This is the exact part I was talking about when I was complaining about poor signposting.

Also, regarding the fracture, I’ve only encountered one so far. Are y’all talking about the one with the red laser barrier that moves toward you as you’re platforming toward it? Because once you figure out it switches sides every time you jump, it’s pretty easy. I found it to be, at least. Think my time was around 45 seconds.

    Lmao. Right on cue.

    Planet 3 spoilers:

One of the first things you see when you get to the big open area is some beast crawling under the sand and consuming some stormtroopers. Cal tells BD-1 that they need to stay off the sand. There are pillars that you jump on that lead to a room where an enemy is prowling. Obviously that’s where you need to go, right?

Well, after spending five to ten minutes in there trying to figure out how to access the upper level where there are wall run spots and ledges to climb on, I finally cave and look up a guide. Remember the sand beast outside that the main character of this video game narrated to specifically avoid by not going on the sand?

Turns out, you’re supposed to go on the sand! Naturally! Why didn’t I think of that? See, what should’ve been obvious, duh, was that I was supposed to ignore all the signs and Cal’s monologue and actually run on the sand to some nondescript metal gate in the distance that blends in with the rest of the landscape, and force push it open to find the area where I’m supposed to be. Because, I mean, DUH!

I think this might actually be a bad video game. I’m quickly losing patience with it.

Oh it switches every time you jump? that would have made it so easier if I knew that! I have no idea how I did it but I did hahaha

Found time to jump back into a short session of Fallen Order. And, while refamiliarizing myself with the controls in the menu, only now just noticed the "auto grab walls" option in there. Are you kidding me? That was there THE WHOLE TIME?! [face_laugh]

Not that it is that difficult to pull off (it's just tricky to remember sometimes so I end up plummeting to my death every now and now because I've activated my lightsaber by accident instead), but it was a really weird control decision that took awhile to get used to when I first started the game last April. I'm glad they at least anticipated people finding it to be a strange and unintuitive choice by including this menu option.

Sorry, Cal. Next time I'll look at all the menu settings so you don't have to pay the price quite as often. I'll get you an ice pack.

Oh, interesting! Looking it up, seems the accessibility update hit for Star Wars Day in 2020. So, for me, it's always been there, since I didn't start this until one year ago and didn't even own the game until 2 years ago.

I would assume that this was around the time Last of Us Part II came out and/or was making headlines about its accessibility features.

I think I played it somewhere in 2019.

Do need to take a closer look at the PS5 options, as every upgraded PS5 version of a PS4 game has had new options added. Spider-Man being a stunning example compared to its PS4 predecessor.

The PS4 version is good, nothing wrong with it.

The big PS5 difference for me is haptics - which is murder to convey just how good those are to someone who hasn't experienced it.

Yeah and idk why my controller was being dumb in the early game but now it’s doing some feedback for me.

XB needs to get onboard already with this…

Dammit i really hate the Indiana Jones puzzle bs in these games. They are determined to get me to put this game in my feed and have asshats spoil the game in the title tags.

Funny you mention that because, while I am ok with them, I wish they'd make it more apparent that they are side-quests.

Remember that wind tunnel puzzle with the metallic ball? I had no idea it was optional until I actually solved it. The reward was welcome, but it definitely disrupted the flow of the narrative as I was sure I needed to actually do it.

I've been so busy since last Friday I've barely started this game, but have a 4 day weekend ahead of me so I should finally have some time to get into this. I did get a change to replay Fallen Order a few weeks ago and still love that game as much as I did when it came out, hoping to feel the same about this one once I get going.

So I've hit the Hub planet, its moon and Jedha and although it says I've uncovered X%, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the planets.

It still misses at times when it shouldn't but overall, its a good step up from Fallen Order and its a game I'm actually wanting to go back to whereas other recent games with high ratings haven't made me feel that way (Looking at you Ghost of Tsushima).

Its a solid entry so far.

Well, my patience for unofficial copies to be released has run out, so I bought it, in spite of the reported problems on PC and the groan-inducing $70 (is this the new baseline for AAA games?). Hopefully the patch they released will have it in an enjoyable state. [face_praying]

Steam is holding a respectable download speed of ~50mb/s, so I should be getting into it soon, finally :D:bluesaber:

After a mildly infuriating launch failure that said windows didn’t recognize the files (smelled like Denuvo) I linked Steam account to EA app, and presto, it launches. I swear, the unofficial copies really do perform better . . .

Anyways, now to pick a difficulty setting, let’s start with . . . Jedi Master [face_skull]

Speaking of releases. I wonder when we can expect the first numbers of how many games were sold. I expect that it will do less numbers somewhere between 8-9 million units total. Still more then enough to justify the sequel. Hell. The first game itself selling like 10 million copies is more then enough to justify two more games.

That 10 million copies is from 2020 so the game has probably sold closer to 15 million by now.
