Got this as a Black Friday deal but only started this weekend. Even with everything on lowest setting/off and the dot in the center (which I don’t think helps, but I’m keeping it on just in case it actually does), I can only play for short bouts because it makes me motion sick. But I really like how easy it is to pick back the controls and how you (re)learn different abilities. And, right now it’s annoying because I have not amassed enough skill points yet to do much, but I like how extended the acquired skills are.

do you get more points for kills the higher the play setting?

Only played on Story but I doubt it, I think those numbers are set.

There's a fractured rift challenge where you have to hop on the balloon things and avoid red energy and other obstacles. I could not figure out how to get passed the 2nd red energy area right as the start of the challenge. I searched on Youtube for the solution, and I just learned that you can hold L2 which allows you a few seconds to plan your jump from your balloon. This would have been really helpful information to know a long time ago.

I loved Survivor and think it's probably the best SW game I've played, but yeah, I couldn't do a lot of that side stuff.

POINT IT TO ME WHERE IT IS ON MY MAP, YOU ****S

Survivor has a weird system where to get the things that point to stuff on the map you need to unlock said things. It’s really bizarre.

My problem isn't about the side stuff though. It's about getting from point A to point B IN THE MAIN STORY. Give me the puzzles to solve once I get there, not before.

Finding where to go is an issue, I agree. Good game though, however I am ready for an experience similar to Outlaws now.

This is why Capcom went with yellow paint splashes as a way of indicating what is and is not interactive. In J: O I found it often blended in with the other, detailed graphics.

I'm "enjoying" the side stuff and trying to find and collect all the things. I do not like the one hit kills from the Rancor and Oggdo (giant frog) creatures and then they give you one fracture each where you have to fight two of them. Those took a while. The reward for beating all the fractures just unlocked where to find upgrades on the map. I still haven't unlocked the seed map upgrade and I know I'm missing a lot of those so I might complete this game collecting the seeds or I'll peace out like I did in Zelda with the Koroks.

If I was a completionist like it sounds as if some people are, I know I'd invest more time into the side quests for collectibles and such (and of course gaining trophies on PSN). But I'm only playing the game now for the story alone. It's on the easiest mode, and if I have to grind somewhat to gain experience, so be it.

If I'm having fun playing, which I mostly have been with Jedi Survivor, then I'll continue and complete a game. At this point, I don't even know if there's an associated trophy with collecting everything, but I'm having fun doing it so I'd have to check. Personally, I believe I've platinum'ed GOW:R and recently I've got platinum in Spider-man 2. And for the $60-70 price tag, I'm going to get the most bang out of my buck.

No offence intended, but difficulty-wise, I always play on Normal. I don't want the game to be too easy that it's not rewarding when it starts to get challenging; conversely I don't want it to be so hard that I'm getting mad and no longer having fun. I trust the developers that normal will be the most balanced experience so that's my desire.

You definitely should do the bounty quests.

It'll still be there after I've met Merrin again, right? Tbh, that's really the only reason I'm eager to continue playing this game in the first place lol.

In a perfect world I could do it with the friends I've met in the game, but I'm willing to bet that's not the case here.

At least I have the trusty little droid who can open cases and I can use as a zip line ;)

I mean the other members of the party like Merrin, Cere, and maybe even Greez to a lesser extent. I hadn't played JFO in a while since completing it, but I don't recall much in the form of Cal joining up with members from his party in actual gameplay.

Jedi Survivor is the only game where I actually had to bump the difficulty level down for one boss encounter from Jedi Knight to Jedi Padawan

Vader fight where you don't play as Cal. Good drama but when playing as Cere I only have like 5 health upgrades. When I'm Cal I am rolling deep with 8 or 11 stims! I needs it. So yah kinda dopey that the game takes away your health upgrades for that particular Vader fight. You can't do that, videogame! Only thing I think was ever similar was when you play as Ellie in Last of Us but even that isn't a perfect comparison

Ah, I see. I suspect there probably isn't due to how the companions work in the levels you have them.

I love the cross guard stance. It’s an addition to the franchise that I’m glad exists, particularly in gaming. Winding up like a heavy baseball bat is tons of fun.

I only played crossguard for five minutes or so. I did a lot of blaster mode, good for range attacks and seems unique to Cal's character

I didn't like the slowness of crossguard especially when they want to throw you in a room with 12 enemies all trying to hit you at once. I liked blaster at first because of being able to hit from afar, but I didn't like the thrust stab as it brought you in close and made you venerable. I liked the single stance and the dual wield because both had the throw and I liked to do that. I didn't play much of double-bladed, but what I did I enjoyed.

Double blade is good if you just want to wreck a lot of folks. I maxed out the skill trees in both double and blaster and left my TK force powers rather unattended to

My standard package was blaster and double-blade. The blaster is a fun dueling setup and the “bullet-time” makes you feel like Cad Bane, while double blade is great for crowds and can deflect as many blaster shots as needed. Nailing the timing in the deflections feels great every time
