Does anyone here have Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: Prima's Official Strategy Guide? I'm looking for some help/info from it.

I tend not to buy guides for anything other than pokemon, so I don't have it. Have you tried gamefqs.com? It's where I go for help and stuff.

Same. I consider it one of the greatest Star Wars games. Creating your own personal Jedi was very awesome, and the gameplay was pretty much sound.

 

I had this game...plus the original release JK2 game with its large tin box, "lightsaber" flashy thingie and collected Dark Forces 1 and 2. Then I eBay'd both years ago. Yes, I know, an utterly Stupid thing to do.

And then I saw at a local Office Max a barebones edition of JK2 for just $10 and grabbed it on the spot. I've yet to install it and I know I still have a few CD-R's loaded with skins and mods, but I'm so sick of my Xbox right now that I think I'll go ahead and give it a spin. These games were truly some of the best offerings made by LA before the company went to utter $#!+.

 

Remember that first mod that came out, which was pretty much just a circular pit where loads of different enemies spawned while the Prodj's Smack my Britch Up played?

Good times.

 

That was pretty much every mod circa 2002.

 

LOL. Ain't that the truth. I came to hate that song after hearing it for the umpteenth time.

 

I totally agree, these games have pretty poor graphics but everything else about them was beautiful beyond reason. What happened? It seems like most LA stuff to be released lately is crap. I probably shouldn't say that 'cause I know that some people still enjoy LA stuff, but for me its like nothing brought out since like 2000 is that impressive... Force Unleashed had a good idea and story but the constant bugs! and The Clone Wars... don't get me started.

 

Hard to believe such great games are almost a decade old. Seems like just yesterday I was eagerly anticipating Jedi Outcast's release, savoring every screenshot. By the way, anyone besides me have trouble getting Jedi Academy to work on Windows Vista?

 

Nah, the real fail came after BF2 was out and LA realized people would buy a copy of Battlefield 2 (not a very good game to begin with) with laser tank skins. And would buy them in massive quantities.


But yeah, the first thing into my head when I saw TFU was "this really isn't that amazing compared to the powers you get in Jedi Academy".

 

I don't think I can play it through again. One playthrough worth of Rosh was enough for me.

 

I prefer the original Jedi Knight so I can perv on Kyle.

Yeah. Good times indeed. Very few recent game releases had me so excited as JO's did back in the day. I remember how excited I was when I got my tin can collector's edition, savoring every second as I checked its contents. It would've been absolutely perfect if they had included MOTS as well, but it was all good. Too bad I could never get Dark Forces installed properly.
