The new Insider has quite the lowdown on the characters that make up this series. Looks darn exciting!

I will catch up with you soon DH

I picked up a few extras at Mile High this weekend. No biggie since they're only 25 cents.
I'll bring them to the meeting this weekend for anyone who wants one.

Love the background on the charactors, can't wait to see how they pull this all off.

Not that I've put my hands on the comic, but I was able to look over someone's shoulder when it was read.

That Insider article was a good teaser for the series.
I'm interested by the fact that Darth Krayt broke the rule of 2 Sith and has made it the rule of 1. That was done before by the Sith before the rule of 2 and it ended in a complete slaughter of the order with only 2 left standing, thus there is always 2. Lots of potential for in-fighting amongst the Sith. I get the impression that Darth Talon will be much like Darth Maul, she seems like a dangerous opponent.

Not a one in issue #0. It is just the character and vehicle artwork. It does explain who the major players are and some of their motivations, but no actual plot yet. Although I like the idea that [SPOLIER] the Vong tried to atone for their planet shaping and started to fix some of the planets, but when it went awry (due to Sith sabotage) the galaxy was plunged into civil war. Those Vong just don't get a break!

Just got done reading the first issue...

It certainly opens up just like the beginning of a Star Wars film. Major action in your face from the get-go!

Lots of new characters with much potential.

Cade is certainly a Skywalker. The Force is strong with him, in one panel in particular. I was surprised for one so young to exhibit such power levels. Much like Anakin, he is. Perhaps stronger. Head Strong too!

I'm very interested in Cade's Father.

It was very different to see so many Darths together.

    Love the new tie fighters.

The Imperial Knights? Hmmmmmmm... want to know more about them.

I believe that John and Jan have breathed some new life into the Star Wars universe. I will look forward to watching this tale unfold.
I'm curious what you guys think.

... and how about that killer cover by Adam Hughes. Such a GREAT figure drawer.

I know this is the LEGACY thread...

but some of you who dig Dark Horse should check out REBELLION.

it's cool that they have two books right now surrounding the adventures of Skywalkers.
Rebellion is the stories of Luke's beginning adventures as part of the alliance and Rogue Sqaudron. The twist is he finds an enemy who used to be one of his best friends.
Remember the line "That's what you said when Biggs and Tank left"

Tank is a Lt. for the Empire and he comes across Luke leading the rebellion in an attack on an Imperial instalation. I like it so far!

I read it today. As I expected I loved the art work, but the rest wasnt that good. another skywalker, the empire lead by jedi (rly now, WTF), the multitude of sith. Cant they be more creative. look at tyhe succsess they had with Vos.

I'm just the opposite IB. I've read it a few times now and studied the artwork.(i always do, no matter what book it is)
I'm totally into it. Try not to judge based on the first issue. They threw a lot at you to set the story up but I think this is going to bud into a great chapter in Star Wars. One can't really be true to critique of a comic til, like the 6th or 7th issue. That has been my experience with collecting comics. I wasn't too sure of Vos when I began to read him but the more the character was fleshed out, the more I loved the character.
It so kicks butt that he survived the Clone Wars!

I long to see a future comic that has an older, more wiser Vos. That would be great! [face_praying]

Finally picked it up (as well as Tron, G.I. Joe vs. Transformers, and a few other titles)...

First off, I'm shocked at comic prices nowadays. Boy, I remember when comics used to be 75 cents and I could fill my room with comics by budgeting my lunch money...[trails off and yaps for another 15 minutes]

ANYHOO, I surprisingly don't have anything that bad to say about the comic.

The "Sith war paint" bothers me. Darth Maul looked the way he did because it's customary as a Zabrak to get a full-body tattoo. His was just overly extreme. Now we have a galaxy full of guys painted red with black tattoos? I'll admit -- everything's been so overdone anymore that it's hard coming up with a uniquely cool-looking character, but painting everyone red and black is not the answer.

Conversely, they do look cool. Everybody looks cool painted red with black tattoos. I'm a fickle fanboy, and if you paint anybody like that, I'll worship them.

Darth Gothboy-in-a-kilt-with-a-stupid-mullet. Black and white tattoos? Please read above comment. And a kilt and he fights with a Claymore lightsaber? AND A MULLET??? He must die in issue #2, and his hillbilly creator must be fired.

Darth Talon. Hot. A little too butch for me, though. The "beard tattoo" is a turnoff.

Darth Krayt. Hm...Krayts only exist on Tattooine. Why does the Galaxy revolve around a barren rock in the Outer Rim? Oh well -- at least they were somehow able to keep the Vong in the story...even if the whole storyline was kinda lame to begin with.

Stormtroopers. During the Clone Wars, they'd update their armor every 10 years. It's been 100 years now, and the best they can do is swapping out their kneepads for Clone Wars-era kneepads? Whatever.

The story. Really can't say much...but the Galaxy-wide gubmint run by Jedis, just so some Sith goober can come usurp it is getting old. Haven't they been doing that for the last 5,000 years?

BUT...It's a comic about bunches of Sith killing bunches of Jedis, so it's gotta be worth buying. It won't win any awards, though.
