WELCOME TO THE STAR WARS LINE BY LINE SCRIPT ANALYSIS THREAD!

In this thread will be studying, analyzing and discussion in depth about the scripts of all the beloved 'Star Wars' films line by line; Just like Moleman1138 has his series of threads studying the films scene by scene, this thread will bring fans of all genders, ages, cultures, nationalities, creeds and view of the world to study and analyze the lines spoken by all of the characters in the Star Wars film. As Host of the thread, I will post a random line from one of the six films each week and we will discuss everything about the line from it's function in the plot and story to what aspect, intention and personality it reveals of the character who speaks it, to a critical analysis of if the line works and what you think about it, if it will be remembered by the general public, etc etc; From Behind the scenes perspective to an in-universe point of view; From a study of metaphoric subliminal meaning to a observation of logic and reason. This I feel will help bring us together as fans and develop an even deeper and in depth detailed understanding of the characters, the films and Star Wars as a whole, and also it can be very fun and geeky and gives us something to do as fans in this time of nothing new from Lucasfilm and also give us a new perception of the films so when we watch them for the billionth time, it will still feel new and enlightening. I certainly hope you all will enjoy this thread. :)

STAR WARS LINE BY LINE ANALYSIS LINE NUMBER ONE:

"I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi. The Dark Side of the Force surrounds the Chancellor." Mace Windu; Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

    Critical Analysis:

Is this a cheesy or good line? Why?

Is the delivery good or bad? Does it make or break the line?

Do you like the line? Why? Why not?

What purpose does it serve in the narrative, the story and the plot, if any?

    Character Analysis:

What does it say about the character?

What aspect does it reveal about the character?

What would make the character say this and how do you think he feels about it?

    Metaphorical Analysis:

Is there a subliminal message in the line?

Does it say something political, spiritual or socially?

Does it have a deeper meaning?

    Emotional Analysis:

What emotional impact does it have for you, if any?

What emotion does it make you feel?

What do you think the characters are feeling when this line is said?

    Context Analysis:

What impact does it have on everything that has come before it and everything that follows?

In what way does it drive the film forward?

What ramifications does it have for the saga as whole?

    Improvement Analysis:

How would you make it better?

Would you have cut this line?

    Why?

    AHHHH!!!!! So...much...analysis...thingies.

Okay, I think it was just a "filler line." The story needed this line to introduce the fact That the council had suspicions but was unable to do anything. I would say it is a very dry line though.
