Another fantastic issue. Vader is absolutely ruthless!

There were many great moments but one of my favorite is when Vader says, "The Force will never be with you, boy."

    Queue Empire Strikes Back.

Yeah, that’s it I am bored beyond hope with this series already. Let me know if they start doing something interesting down the line, as it is, just more of the same. [face_sigh]

It's a subspecies of Togruta which doesn't speak... it just bleats.

I find myself lying somewhere between the two extremes: I don't find the whole thing appalling, but I fail to understand why everyone seems to think it's so wonderful.

Oh not saying it is terrible or anything (unlike Star Wood which got so terrible it was kind of funny), just that I cannot get myself to care because there is nothing special here.

Like the first issue, it was ok. On the other hand at least Vader was pretty awesome so I'm fine with it so far.

Great issue. I'm new to comic books, but I found myself looking forward to this issue since #1's release, and now I'm looking forward to #3 just as much, if not more. Aaron is really making Vader out to be a badass in every sense of the word, I'm loving it. That's the second time he's stolen the show, and it's looking like he could do it again, especially with his own comic coming out next week. A great start by Marvel.

Quite the range of reactions to this one. :)

One thing I will bitch about--in HttJ Luke pretty explicitly hasn't actually seen telekinesis happen yet. He works out logically that it should be possible based on what Obi-Wan described, but if he'd actually seen what he sees here his POV should be very different. But then, if HttJ happened before this, Luke being so shocked when Vader yanks away his saber doesn't quite work either.

It could still go either way, to be honest, but now it's a little awkward no matter what.

Yeah, that's the little bug I saw when the preview came out, I alluded to it in the other thread. srd5090 and I hashed through it a bit in a PM thread, it's an awkward contradiction, but I'd lean toward this issue happening first, and HttJ being later.

Thanks again for rubbing in that you have this book, and we don't. [face_monkey]

That being said ... apart from the telekenisis reaction, and there anything else that would suggest HttJ happens after this arc? I understand that other things seem to strongly suggest it must be before. (not having heard Ben's voice, etc).

Trust me, having it isn't that much of a privilege. ;)

Like I said, I could see it going either way, but in my opinion? HttJ feels earlier. FWIW, though, the voice thing is way less definitive than people make it sound (unless there's more that I haven't seen yet--still have a third or so to go). Certainly less so than the TK issue.

Following the events of Yavin is the context.

    p6, from the online preview:

"I thought I heard Ben's voice a couple of times during the Battle of Yavin, but I'm wondering now if that really happened. Maybe I only thought it did; maybe that was my subconscious speaking to me - a kind of wishful thinking. He's been silent since, and I don't feel I can talk to anyone else about the Force."

Oh, okay, I forgot the "he's been silent since" part--the first sentence suggests he hasn't spoken since without confirming it; that's all I remembered. Anyway, it's from an advance copy, so who knows. :p

I'm not that suprised that grandfathered EU is being a source of issues. Sad, though.

I already said it in the first issue thread, but I loved the book again this month. This is exactly what I want out of a Star Wars comic. Big action, big characters, quips, lasers, vehicles, aliens. . . all fantastic.
