Good evening meme thread, I’d like to give you all a friendly reminder that we discourage using hotlinks. This has been a rule since the beginning of time.

You must use a hosting site for the images you post, do NOT just copy and paste. We have had instances of the images being changed on people to one that violate our TOS, not to mention other issues.

There is a thread in Comms currently on this issue. We will take down images and give warnings if this continues.

There is a thread in comms discussing this right now. The short answer is no, that doesn’t count as using a hosting site. Copy and pasting any image that you are not uploading your account on a hosting site is a hotlink. You cannot be sure that the link stays what you want posted unless you have uploaded it.

 

That is perfectly fine.

If you scroll down this page alone the majority of the images were not hosted by the users. Many were hotlinks from Reddit, that’s a risky gamble and asking for trouble.
