Yeah, I shall own this. I was sold at CV when I saw the deleted scene from Jedi. Bring on the Saga marathon!
Yeah it looks like I need this! I will also need to upgrade my sound system but thats what credit is for.
They didn't post one extra disc, disc 9 containing scenes from the upcoming new trilogy episodes 7-9.
I am mostly interested in the "deleted, extended and alternate scenes" on 7&8 and the video quality of the old documentaries that were previously only available on laserdisc and bootleg DVDs.

upgraded my tv for this...since my birthday IS the same day as the release i figure it is a bday present to myself. hehehe [face_alien_1]
From TheHDRoom.com: Also new to the Prequel Trilogy will be the long-awaited CGI Yoda. He's confirmed, though unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see him during our time with the films. There are likely some other CGI fixes and tweaks sprinkled throughout the Prequel Trilogy that we'll have to wait until the Saga set is released to discover. Read more here.
Via TheAVClub.com (the YouTube clips are embedded in the story): George Lucas? quest to correct the mistakes of his past continues, with the upcoming Blu-ray editions bearing the computer-generated fruits of his labor and the true, final realization of his vision for Star Wars, depending on what time it is. And in addition to banishing puppet Yoda to the primitive age of the late ?90s, recipients of early review copies (as collected by io9 and confirmed by Badass Digest) say they have noticed that Lucas, as promised, has also made a few other minor tweaks here and there to the original trilogy. First up: Giving the Ewoks in Return Of The Jedi eyes that actually move and blink?a disconcerting addition at first, perhaps, but one that?s relatively benign, especially considering Lucas could have made them somersault and blow raspberries if he wanted them to, because they?re his and he can he do what he wants to them. Secondly, Obi-Wan Kenobi?s famed ?Krayyt Dragon? call to scare off a band of Tusken Raiders in the original Star Wars has been enhanced, by which we mean it now sounds as though Obi-Wan accidentally sat on the pointy end of a walrus. Here?s the new audio synced with footage from an earlier, now-inferior DVD copy. And last and perhaps most controversially: In the climax of Return Of The Jedi, where Darth Vader at last regains his humanity after witnessing the torture of his son, turns on the Emperor, then throws him to his death in an act of ultimate defiance and self-sacrifice, the revelatory drama of this internal conflict is now more acutely expressed by Darth Vader yelling, ?NOOOOOOOOOO!? a couple of times. >> Why? Just...why? The worst offender is the Vader "NOOOO"-ing. What a big ol' stinking pile of crap. Do not want!!!
Don't waste the college fund! This set is a total waste of money (it's basically all of the Special Edition with all it's interviews and lots of stuff on youtube for free!). NO THANKS!!! I'll keep my original theatrical release VHS set (VHS player still works). Han shot first! Spend the money at CVI instead, not on this crap.
I actually canceled my Amazon order for this cuz I think it's very little extra for too much money and I am not buying a Blu-Ray player just to have this and now, NOW with the hideous Vader "Nooooooooooooooooo" added to ROTJ, I am disappointed cuz quite frankly... IT'S BETTER AS IT WAS TO BEGIN WITH ORIGINALLY!!! All the money he has and he choses to continue to mess with what already works and worked soooooo well. I Want Something NEW!!!
I can totally understand the anger over noooooo and Greedo shooting first. But the worst part of this Blu Ray set is the crap known as Episode I and half of Episode II.
Excellent points, gentlemen. I do think the Vader "Noooooo" thing is just a hoax however....or at least I am hoping that's the case. I'm still on the fence. I lost my DVD copies of I-III, but then again, maybe that was a blessing in disguise. The Japlombian college fund is safe.....for now.
I hear where y'all are coming from, but 90% of the Star Wars movies are still awesome (percentage debatable), so I'm buying it. I want my Star Wars in the highest, best resolution possible. I want to watch the special features. I will ignore the parts I don't like. I won't be an apologist, but will enjoy the movies and not fret about which version is the best.
I love the movies and I want to experience them in Blu Ray. About the changes... who cares, don't you think that Van Go, the Beatles or Fritz Lang would go back and fix their works of art to their own liking if they could? I sure do.
