The Rebel Base always seems to be on the last planet.

My largest fleet was the Katana Fleet. I built all 200 Dreadnaughts, and put Talon Karrde in command! :D

At the moment, my main fleet, that protects our base on Coruscant (you suck, Empire! :p )is as follows:
    ADMIRAL Drayson
    12 Squadrons of X-Wings
    4 Squadrons of A-Wings
    4 Squadrons of B-Wings
    6 Corellian Corvettes
    9 Corellian Gunships
    6 Nebulon B Frigates
    4 Alliance Dreadnaughts
    4 Assault Frigates
    3 Alliance Escort Carrier
2 Medium Transports (they were there at the start, why remove em?)
    4 Mon Calamari Cruisers
    1 CC7700 Cruiser
    2 Liberator Cruisers

I have no idea how many troops I have!!!

2 CC9900 Cruisers expected on line in 50 days. They only just became available, and Ive yet to get Bulwarks!!! :)

Only problem is, I can't find Vader, so I can't teach Leia Jedi tricks.

My favorite tactic probably the Bulk Cruiser Rush -- at the very start of the game, just start cranking out Bulk Cruisers. A fleet of 40+ will drop ANY planet, and kill ANY fleet the Empire has at the time, hands down. It doesn't matter how many fighters they have for cover, or how many GenCores they have protecting the planet. It WILL fall.

I recall when I played as the Empire, on a Large Galaxy... the game took me FOREVER, because Luke and Mon Mothma would just hop from planet to planet. The game took 9,200 turns to complete, and I got Vader's diplomacy rating up to 1015. :D

Thanks GrandMoffTarkin. Now I feel so stupid because I didn't figure that out myself.

Largest fleet? Well I combined all my fleets to Coruscant so I got:

    1 Death Star
    15 SSD
    23 ISD mk.II
    25 VSD mk.II
    40 Strike Cruisers
    30 Lancer Frigates
    14 Interdictors
    9 Assault Transports
    6 Imperial Escort Carriers
    1 Star Galleon
    9 Dreadnaughts

477 Starfighter squadrons (mostly Interceptors, rest Defenders)
    252 Dark Trooper Regiments.

Unfortunately I didn't find any challenging rebel opponents for this navy.

an easy way to flush out the rebels (or the emperor if it comes to that) is to mass produce fast small ships like gunships or lancers and send a couple of them to every system and flush them out quickly

In my 9200-turn empire game, I had fleets patrolling every sector and when i finally found the Rebel base, I combined all the fleets and then totally blew the planet away. I'll key up a list of the uber-fleet later.

Of course, you could always blow up all the planets until the only planet left period is the Rebel base....

What's your tips for training jedi? I can't get anyone but Luke up to jedi knight.

    Evader99:

Well.. what I ended up doing was all-out sieging every planet, one by one, and then using Vader and Bin Essada to crank the planet's popular support back up until they absolutely loved me. I did this until I owned EVERY planet in the game except for the Rebel Base (which was random luck -- the LAST planet in the game happened to be the Rebel Base. I never found it before that point. It pissed me off). That's how I got Vader's diplomacy rating up above a thousand. :D

Training Jedi requires a lot of patience. Often, you need Luke at a high level before you can even begin training other Jedi.

Send them on lots of missions.. if they suceed, their stats go up. If they don't, then their stats still go up, if only slightly.

Who would want to play with rebels? I've completed game once with rebels and about 20 times with imperials. The Empire is a lot cooler than Rebellion. Although strategies are basically same.

I prefer playing as the Rebels since I like the characters better - Imperials are more fun and have better ships, though :(

They will probably make one after Episode 3. But I don't know because Rebellion wasn't really that successful of a game (business wise that is. I love it)

I like it too. Once I get the Death Star shield, I like to build one of those, then station the Death Star at Coruscant with a couple of SSDs and about 5 Interdictors. My strategy fi I'm outmatched and my opponent has an interdictor-type ship is to just go after that ship with everything I have, then retreat after I destroy it.

I prefer the Empire too, but once I was bored so I chose the rebellion and the only ships I made were Corellian Gunships. I had like 350 of them.
It was fun to take on star destroyers with 60 Corellian Gunships.

aaaaaaahhhh, those were the days when I had enough spare time to actually play and win.

I loved this game. It took me many months to be able to get anywhere. Those hit an run tactics really ****ed me up. The first time I built a death star I had to experiment with destroying a few planets here and there.

I wonder what happend if you destroyed coruscant, could the rebels never win? hehe

The only thing that bugged me was that by the time u had taken control of the core systems the enemy had about 5 ships left and no resources to buold up more. So it was kinda lame building up your attacking fleet to fight a ship or two.

I love Rebellion. I really, really, really, REALLY hpor that they make a second one. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the enemy is either very wimpy or very tough. The tough senario is better but if you wipe out just one big fleet the other side is wipped. I never could get the movie to play where they sabotage the Death Star. I've tried everything. I' ll get the Death Star and put in orbit around an rebel planet, or if I'm the Rebels the Empire never builds a Death Star!

Well, tbe game itself was a dud in terms of sales. The reviews hurt it a lot, and Force Commander too.

If only there was a Rebellion 2. Currently @ SWR.com, we have a programmer designing a Rebellion-like game, which we will mod for a sorta sequal.

Not so much a nostalgia bit this, but I've just started another game of it. I got one of those tidbits of info and found out where the rebels have been doing their research. I sent all my good capital ships there with Vader. With the blockade, nothing could get through so Vader slaughtered them. The rebels have lost all their starship research team on about day 150! [face_laugh] The've also lost chewie! He he [face_devil]

What I did in this game was basically send Leia, Mon, and the others on diplomacy missions non-stop for a long time. You *need* to get lots of planets early. Resources are key.

To get Luke to be a Jedi Master before he even trains with Yoda is fairly easy. Just send him on those espionage/sabotage missions non-stop. Be sure to make sure the planet isn't very secured, or else he might be captured, and you lose. Try keeping him with Han so he can get to planets faster and Han is less likely to be captured.

fannumber1 - the Sabotage movie is great. I never saw it in-game, but used a special program to extract it. Someone on here'll know how - I forget.
