Yeah, I've got my fingers crossed something happens. There's another Star Wars kids magazine coming out, maybe they'll migrate there?
Does anybody know where I could find the Rebels magazine in San Francisco? The place I usually go to doesn't carry it, only SW Insider.
Star Wars Adventures Magazine has so far only republished Legends stories, both from other Egmont UK magazines and from Dark Horse. I think three issues have come out so far. I'm not getting this but I am trying to find out what each story is to see if any new original ones will come out.
Good news for US fans-i found a copy of Rebels issue 2 (dated January 2016) and it contained both Learning Patience and The Fake Jedi. If this continues, we'll be getting all the comics here despite the bimonthly schedule.
So the Rebels Magazine has been discontinued here in the US, meaning we're not getting any of the remaining comics. It looks like it's still going via Egmont overseas, so we're 12 comics behind and counting. The email Titan sent out did mention that there's another kid's SW magazine coming in 2017. Any chance it picks up the Rebels comics? Is Egmont doing a different kids' magazine similar to the Jedi Master comic that we might be copying over here?
The UK version has been discontinued too. The German version, however, keeps going. Martin Fisher's Rebels comics are now exclusively published in German.
Wait -- did issues #23-25 ever actually come out even in Germany? I don't recall seeing any release announcements.
The German magazine is up to date with the latest comic, the line of duty. That continues onwards. The rumours are that in the UK at least, the comics will be continuing in January in the star wars adventures magazine. The next edition of that is late January.
This makes me very sad especially as a completest collector of canon stories We should start a petition to get some English TPBs
Bumping this thread because with the demise of both the US and UK versions of the magazine, and the continuation of the German one, the title of the thread is a valid question I'd like to pose again. Anyone have any ideas on how fans in the US can obtain copies of the German issues? By my count there are now six issues that are exclusive to Germany and haven't been reprinted anywhere else as of yet.
I've asked several people with no luck. It is extremely frustrating especially as a canon completionist. Also, the comics are actually pretty good and a lot of people are missing out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've checked a number of web sites, also with no luck. At this point I'm not even sure how people in Germany are getting them I'm hoping these comics don't fall too deep into obscurity because they're quite good and deserve a bigger audience. I wonder who we'd have to talk to to suggest a hardcover collection in the vein of those gorgeous OT / PT graphic novels that came out recently...
There was talk of the Adventures magazine continuing the rebels comics. The next one is out next week in the UK. Hard to check without opening it up mind. The comics have been very solid, especially the one featuring Zare. the last German edition featured Ketsu
Let us know, the US doesn't have a release date for the Adventures magazine as far as I know. I'm a canon completionist and I'm getting really antsy about these unavailable comics.
Germany has trades too: Ring Race through Ezra's Vision Senate Perspective through Ice Breaking Of course, they're in German
I thought I was about to make a breakthrough this weekend when I finally located the website of the German publisher and discovered that issues could be ordered from them directly. Unfortunately, to order issues you have to sign up for an account, and to sign up for an account you need a German postal address. So, that effort ended up a no-go. I'm a canon completionist as well and am definitely starting to get worried about these great comics disappearing into obscurity. If anyone hears anything about a US release date for the Adventures magazine, please let us know...thanks!
If you google something like "virtual mailbox germany", you can find various companies that gives you (for a fee) an address in another country and have it shipped at your home.
Huh, I should have guessed services like that exist. Thanks so much for the info, I will look into that!
I have received a response back from Egmont UK when I contacted them today asking them about the continuation of the rebels comics in their Adventures Magazine. "Hi Nick - thank you for your kind words regarding the SWR comics. Continuing them in future issues of SW Adventures is an option we are currently exploring but this is under discussion with Disney and Lucasfilm. EGMONT" So there could be news incoming soon.... fingers crossed.
That's good news.... ish. Not sure why exactly that would need to be just "an option" when it's a perflectly good opportunity to (A) make this material available in English and (B) easily provide new content for the Adventures magazine.
