Welp the end will soon begin now.

 

Everyone be careful, someone posted on another thread that they have had some advanced airings of the first four episodes, and on the tv forum it is showing discussions for the episodes themselves... (at least the first two.) I would be careful of potential spoilers.

Has the last Rebels episodes premiered yet? It's 11.34 am Tuesday in my part of Australia and so far nothing!! It is so frustrating!

 

You know what they say about people who assume.

 

I'm in the same timezone. I think it should be around 1 PM for us when it goes to air.

 

It is 1 hr and 10 min from airtime currently (as of this post). And it is supposed to go live on the app after that.

All you Jedi are gone Yoda devotees can breathe half a sigh of relief now.

And they did just what I thought. Have Kanan and Hera finally verbalize their feelings and then BANG.

Overall a powerful pair of episodes. I really thought they would keep Thrawn off world for the remainder of the series to keep him out of harms way. I wish we could have seen the meeting with the Emperor. Hopefully that is setting up a string for further development post series.

Goodby Caleb. It was a fun journey getting to know your character. Sorry to see it end this way.

Thrawn goes to meet The Emperor in person... and Thrawn will be back on Lothal to order a bombardment of the city. This means the Emperor might have tagged alone to give that order and to have met Ezra in the flesh on Lothal. My over/under is over 70% that The Emperor is there in the flesh on Lothal.

For the record, Hera never telling Kanan she loved him doesn't mean they haven't been doing it all this time.

Jedi Night was good, but Dume was pretty boring, aside from Pryce being lectured by Thrawn.

Also, I hate how many commercials there are when watching it on TV.

KANAN! I teared up when we lost him.

Loved the lecture on Pryce and Ruhk getting his butt handed to him by Kanan and Zeb, despite his best efforts.

Is it me though, but everything the Empire wins, they lose twice as badly.

Lothal comm tower: Empire grabs Kanan but loses communications across the planet.
Atollon: Empire annihilates Massassi Group and Phoenix Squadron's fleets but fails to win because of Bendu ''helping'' the surviving rebels escape. Oh, and Konstantine getting his arse handed to him by Sato and allowing Ezra to escape in the first place.
Lothal factory attack: The Empire kills Kanan but disrupts TIE Defenders.
Scarif: Empire cripples their fleet but loses the plans.
Alderaan: Empire destroys the planet, loses the propaganda.
Yavin: Empire takes out many top pilots (i.e. Dreis, Vander), loses the Death Star and a majority of Imperial Command.
Vrogas Vas: Empire cripples starfighter corps but fails to achieve objectives.
Hoth: Empire annihilates their headquarters but fail to destroy the rebels.

Any more patterns?

 

I dunno man. "Don't wipe out their enemies to the last man" does not seem remotely similar to "lose twice as hard" And some of these are basically just "the empire failed to win the war outright because of this battle"

Since the Empire is going to lose in the long run, by these standards it is impossible for any of their battles to count as a victory.

• I love that Thrawn just comes in to demoralize her and then leaves
• God the music in this ep is great
• I still do not like that hair
• Wait so Zeb is not even part of the mission? Does he get anything to do anymore?

• Finally Death troopers speaking totally with the vocoder. I am ok with them speaking normally I guess, but I really like getting that voice
• Can we please stop treating death troopers like punks?
• Why did Sabine take her helmet off? Like I know they are about to break their cover but still it seemed pointless
• So we all saw it coming, and people sorta made me suspect it even more by talking about how this ep had a big spoilerific scene, but damn that was a good death.
• Can Kevin Kiner just fully take over SW score duties?
• I love how Pryce is still thinking like a politician more than a soldier, cause that's what she is after all

• I like that Ezra seems to 100% get why Mothma would not send more troopers. he is really growing up
• I like that the others are not in for Sabine and Zeb's suicidal revenge quest
• does Ezra understand that planets are kinda big?
• God Zeb does nothing but tag along occasionally and be oddly cowardly these days
• does everyone who dies in rebels become an animal later? Just asking not complaining
• Maybe DON'T announce that you are scanning
  
  On the whole I really enjoyed that second half of the first ep and the rest was solid. Kana's death was well done, though the second ep was mostly set up for the next two eps. The Hera stuff was nice though. otherwise I do feel like maybe we should have only opened with the first ep. Dume drags a bit too much

I'm so pissed they killed Kanan. Like, it was disappointing when Luke died, but I was expecting it ever since Han. I just accepted that would be the kind of **** we're in for. "Subverted expectations", all the old heroes die, **** happy endings, new toys characters to sell introduce. Whatever. No anger, just disappointment. But this pisses me off because there were so many ways they could've gone, and so much potential still in the character and the crew's dynamics together. However well done it was (and it was a 1000x better than TLJ, I'll give them that), I still hate it. We'll see if that eventually fades, but that's where I am now.

Kanan dying shortly after finally being told he's loved by Hera is a good analogy for the series in general- Finally manages to achieve a quality better than TCW only to end a few episodes later!

RIP Caleb Dume, you've been my favourite character in canon ever since A New Dawn and you went out like a true Jedi! In the EU you will live on forever!

Was it me, did these last two episodes turn Pryce into a real moustache twirler or has she always been that way?

Either way she deserves nothing less than death now!
