I’ve never actually bought a Blu Ray. Up until a few years ago I just used an old playsation 2 to play dvds. After that I’ve pretty much just gone digital for movies and shows.

I still prefer physical copies for books, but even then I do a fair amount on mobile devices.

I would love to say no blu-ray, no sale but I can't. I will still pick it up. Im not planning on subscribing to Disney+ and have yet to see Resistance. the thought I buying a DVD though sends chills down my spine. If I had my way, DVD's would be banned such is the picture quality!

I read a good point that the S1 Trailer of Resistance didn't drop until Mid-August last year as well, so hopefully if they follow the same schedule will get one next month and maybe it will start in either late September early October, which would make good timing since that will tie in with the Rise of Skywalker stuff were this season will more or less take place in terms of post TLJ.

It's pathetic, that's what it is. Of course Disney+ will have it in HD (with lovely high compression and possible pixelation) that is exactly why they are doing this. Want to watch in HD? Must subscribe to Disney+ [face_sick].
Hey Disney why not dump DVD as well and just release SW: Resistance to own on VHS tapes?

You know it is quasi scary, quasi fascinating to think that the HardCopy of a thing might go the way of the VHS in the next ten to twenty years.

And it's also given Vonreg's TIE a designation: the slightly silly-sounding Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems TIE/ba Baron Space Superiority Interceptor.

I bet Soontir's mad he wasn't given a special TIE fighter just for barons.

That’s neat, I also like the black and grey x wings for Saw’s partisans.

A thought came to me watching Resistance episode 10 "Station Theta Black:"

Is it just that Kaz himself is a goof and only really good in a starfighter, or is Republic military training at this time just this pitiful?

He'd never handled a real blaster before Poe tossed him one! How is that a thing? Even for a pilot?

Yeah, it sometimes feels like the show will go for a joke at Kaz's expense even against his backstory and established skills (we know from his dart skills that he should at least have some excellent hand-eye coordination)

But it might be inferred that Kaz being a senator's son might have helped him pass even when lacking in certain skills, or that his skills as a pilot were enough that they were willing to overlook his deficiencies in other areas.

Alternatively, he might have fired a real blaster before, but as part of a training simulation and not in actual combat, since the republic has been at peace for decades.

Kaz confirms he never helf a real one, only in sims. Which tbf could mean more so that he has just never been in a live fire fight and that's why he is nervous. And like MercenaryAce said, Kaz is implied to be subject to nepotism. he is a legit great pilot, but likely was kept out of other stuff. Plus he is not unimaginably bad in the shooting sim in "Holograms". I assume the NR has higher standards for infantry obviously, and may even have seriously limited the use of blasters among pilots due to mass decompartmentalization.

I don't find it that odd for Kaz specifically to be a bad shot

That was really my issue with the show early on. Even nepotism would have only gotten him so far. His piloting skill aside I would have preferred him to be portrayed as a young straight laced NR officer out of his element than a complete spaz who just happens to have the 1 redeeming quality of being a great pilot. Specifically...military training would have gotten him proficient with the NR military's standard issue sidearm. Not just some sim shooting but actual range time with the real deal.

Kaz also has ingenuity, you see this a bit more later on, but he is actually quick on his feet for someone who is always stumbling over himself. I am fine with Kaz being goofy, cause he is more or less in over his head. When things really get serious like in "core problem" he is really letting the seriousness get to him. I think Kaz just gets caught up in his own world to often.

Kaz is goofy, Poe is suicidally overconfident. No ace is perfect.

And here we are, a week or so away from the release and can I pre-order it online in the UK? Of course not.

I know Disney and Amazon have an eternal pissing contest that screws that all up but this is pathetic.

I'm getting to the point where all the TV isn't going to matter to me because it's too much aggro to work out how to access the stuff, with Disney continually ****ing around on it.

    What particularly irritates me is:
    • Those who watch at time of transmission
    • Streamers
    • BR/DVD buyers
These are not audiences that will cannibalise each other! They are not competitive. All Disney are doing by screwing around the DVDs and BRs is missing out on a load of cash.

Entirely agreed. If Season 1 were releasing in Bluray format here in the US I'd be picking it up on release day without hesitation, whether or not it's available on the streaming service (and I've now read one report that suggests it actually won't be available on Disney+, at least not right at the start). I don't understand at all what Disney gains from making HD releases, worldwide releases, etc. so difficult - all it does is stand in the way of us giving them money for their product!

Apparently Disney is in crisis due to failures in Marvel and Star Wars as a whole.

Youtube commentators are going nuts over it.

Youtuber dosen't know ****. And no crisis just misinformation. No failures unless Solo has happened.

With all due respect to the commentators making these claims, the only crisis going on at Disney is that they don't have a vault big enough to store all the money Star Wars and the MCU have made them over the past ten years.

And even if the financial disappointment of Solo is still causing headaches, I don't follow how that would connect to Resistance or these issues with the Season 1 release.

I'm on the fence over this. I love Resistance and am ignoring the rumours of TROS. My dad just can't help but play the videos loud for me to here.
