Armand without the skunk stripe is unacceptable. Some things are just not done. And I really doubt the villain is going to be someone who's alive in ANH, especially considering there doesn't seem to be any effort to make Mendelsohn look like Yularen. He's probably the ISB deputy director.

Considering he has more rank placks than ANH Yularen, Yularen could have been demoted due to failing to stop the plans from being stolen.

The rank plaques appearing in ANH are a mystery in themselves, anyway. Considering that the plaques were also all wrong in ROTJ, the only time they were portrayed in a sensical way was in ESB.

Rebels has been showing some "one-row plack" characters (Kallus, Admiral Brom Titus from the Interdictor episode) as well as the more TESB style placks.

Yes. Although I understand why they did it, I still don't like it. You'd think that, with a clean slate of canon, they could have thought of a coherent system. But no, apparently, people are still just creating rank plaques at random.

Making him Isaard would further merge aspects of two DS plan theft stories- the obvious DF angle and Interlude at Darknell.

I can't see the guy being Yularen- not only due to recasting but also he doesn't look anything like him(plus Yularen looks much older). And it's not Yularen without the 'stache. I can't see them going out of their way to explain why he looks so much different than he did days/weeks later in ANG despite looking almost the same during TCW.

There is zero chance that is Yularen.

If you pronounce Isaard as "Ice-hard", it could be said to be a "cool" name, so to speak. Perhaps Pablo is being cheeky and playing with words?

Please, could you all stop misspelling Isard's name with two As? I'm surprised Jello hasn't objected to that it. :p

But... what happened to the wonderful adventures, the places I had planned for us to go? :(

Speaking of Titus, why does he wear a black shirt when being an Admiral suggests that he's commisioned and isn't a Stormtrooper officer?

Could be he's transferred to some sort of special weapons division (that Interdictor may be experimental).

Guys it's Kren Blista-Vanee. He was in Tarkin and he was obviously promoted to ISB Director after his successful work in blazing hyperspace routes through the Core; Luceno wouldn't have included that bit of new info about him in the novel for no reason!!

The tall-hatted advisor was probably that guy in Aftermath. The ROTJ advisors are slowly taking over the new canon!!!!!2

TCW did have a lot of cool new planets, but it also bugged me that they went back to one of the Episode III Order 66 planets every five or so episodes. "Felucia, again? The hell?"

Wow, Boba Fett is more incompetent than I thought if there's a Jedi right in front of him and he's not taking him in. Obviously all those Imperial officers and stormtroopers are off-duty so it's not their job, but man Fett get it together.

Stephen Stanton said that -- the VA for Tarkin. I don't recall Pablo saying that.

There's no reason Stanton would be in the know unless this character shows up in Rebels, so the question is how reliable we think his information is...

I doubt it's Yularen. And I doubt it's Isard, just because we're not that lucky. If it's ISB, it's probably Ison.

But Harus Ison doesn't exactly sound like a "cool name." I mean I guess he has a corridor named after him so that's cool, but like.

Though his uniform resembles ISB uniforms as seen in ANH, the cape seems really, really odd for a mere law enforcement official. Even if he's a higher ranked version. His presence on the DS overbridge, and walking through a battlefield gives me more of a military leader vibe. And the intentional use of a fleet admiral rank plaque -- while ISB do seem to have military rank equivalents, seems to suggest something else.

And mostly I'd just prefer him to be a grand admiral, even a bleedin' moff (doubtful) than ISB. I want him to be cool, not some goosestepping fool :p

I love how a barely-related voice actor saying "could there be a clue in Tarkin?" in the course of a day or two becomes "Pablo said that specific guy is a character in Tarkin".

    You'll go far here.

Didn't realize it was Stanton on Twitter that said that; I was going off of Captain RX's post.

Kinda off topic, sorry about that, but it's really weird to me how often I see this version of the destruction of Alderaan in gif form, seeing how it's from a fan production, not the actual movie. You'd think the one in the film would be more ubiquitous.
