New footage shown at Gamescom. Looks good! Don't have a link; it's streaming live right now. 90 minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqDS7KWjAPKv-7ZSlro9OiQ EDIT: Also shown, Star Wars Batuu integration with Sims 4.
Yeah, I may be getting a joystick next month. It looks very updated Wing Commander style mixed with Freespace but in the SW universe. It'll be a PC purchase not a console one this.
That trailer was quite reassuring, showed a bit more assist than that magazine article suggested - might be able to play this after all.
It felt like the new trailer had this British lady yelling at you the entire time. When @Darth Punk plays this game, he's going to feel right at home.
Barring any surprise EA shenanigans...I'm genuinely excited. Rogue Squadron, specifically the Gamecube ones, was something I played the hell out of back in the day, and this looks like a close enough successor. Glad they're not messing around with the SP and just doing separate campaigns as they should've with BF2. This is also the first game that's genuinely tempted me to try out VR!
I enjoyed that. Normally CGI trailers are meh, but I like that they used it to both show how the cockpit instrumentation in the game works while combining it with a short story.
Yeah, I already have been slowly updating my desktop for gaming (and more work-at-home work) with more RAM and a new gaming monitor, plus better internet and Wifi6/Mesh routers... but this actually made me buy a (relatively inexpensive) joystick...
I need to get some of that banker money cuz there's no way my pc could handle this. I'll be playing on xbox But they announced joystick support for consoles so I can get that at least PS4 will have VR support as well, which rounds out to about $650 I think. I haven't gotten into VR gaming but this seems like it would be perfect for that. I did the Secrets of the Empire VR and it was amazing.
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/predator-gamingchairxosim It's not out yet, but Mavis owes me a few birthday/Christmas presents so she's aware of where this is going... (as long as it's not Thronos money, of course -- that ****'s ridiculous...) Yeah, I mean I think I didn't upgrade my desktop for like 6-8 years... and then I do interim updates like monitor, etc. Laptops I tend to do more like 3-4 years because I traveled heavily to Asia for weeks at a time, so having a good laptop to handle gaming and streaming from the hotels was a necessity for me to survive... also, I tend to do financing (12-18 month no interest).
This looks incredibly fun I kind of doubt my PC will be able to handle it though, I also have a hard time in general with first person flying/shooting/racing/driving games, I kind of wish there was an option to play third person perspective, my understanding is there is not? But it does look great, the visuals, the vibrant colors of the various locations, it seems like there’s a decent single player story as well, which is basically my primary interest.
I like the real life aspect of the first person view. It should be especially good in VR Takes getting used to, but if I can drive a car without having to see all around it surely I can fly a space ship simulator. It seems somewhat like Elite Dangerous, which I'm OK at
Theres a difference between driving a car. A tactile physical thing with 100% real time sensation around you and a virtual simulation. VR does not agree with me. I can play games in 1st and 3rd perzon but VR is just not going to happen for me.
I'm surprised there isn't a Collector's Edition announced, with some kind of special themed joystick & some models etc That would definitely sell
That New Republic scum is super mean to the TIE Pilot. "War's over, Imp." Yikes! What'd the poor TIE pilot ever do?
