Not really no. And honestly, George (if and when he sees it) would find that skit hilarious. Heck George would be happy he is even mentioned still. The guy is 99% retired and is really spending his time raising a family (God for him btw at the age of 70 plus to give it another whirl) and building his museum.

I remember very long ago seeing an SNL skit that was making fun of possible actors who could have been (from the same era) in Star Wars, but weren't. I remember there were impersonations of Christopher Walken as Han Solo and Richard Dreyfuss as C-3PO.

I'm pretty sure this skit is a follow up to that one. It's the same skit, but with impressions of different actors.

Meh, most of those sketches were not funny at all.

The skit it copied was funnier.

I have no idea what the Shaq one was even impersonating. That was really far off the mark and people know what his personality actually is.

The Vergara impression is funny even if you don't know the actress. The Vergara and Bublé (crooning, of course) bits were probably the most successful because they were spot-on with how those celebrities are perceived and a bit ridiculous.

Not half as funny as the Walken as Solo and Dreyfuss as 3PO impressions due to the rather pronounced vocal tics of those actors.

And speaking of lazy recycling of material... The Javier Bardem skit is straight out of Spaceballs with the phallic lightsaber jokes.

Well, the Chris Tucker Ruby Rod and Beckham, Leslie Jones moments were funny.

Otherwise, no... poor Daisy had the worst of it.

Just watched the SNL fake TFA auditions. Not many of them were funny but I liked:

    *Beckham kicking BB-8 [face_devil]
*Leslie Jones thinking he was auditioning for Star Trek

I think GL would find it amusing. It was a funny impression, imho. After all, GL included about 90 minutes of SW spoofs on the BD box set of the saga.
He seems to have a healthy appreciation for humor, even if it is directed at him.

Reall good GL impression. Classic casting from 1997 was the all time best, though. Kevin Spacey really owned it.

George Lucas is not the Egyptian Sun God Ra, and we do not live in ancient Egypt. Comedians can therefore poke fun at him without being accused of attempting to assassinate his character.

Seriously, find something better to do than complain about how Lucas is portrayed in a comedy sketch.

    This is humor, not warfare.

I have seen many funny Geoge Lucas parody skits, but I don't find it very respectful when something like this is officially endorsed by Disney, especially on top of everything we've learned about their deteriorating relationship. Besides not being funny in the least, it was unflattering on purpose. Another way to get on the good sides of a certain part of the fandom, and to drive home the fact that George has no say in anything anymore.

Not very funny . . .and the worst was Daisy and John. They were there just because they are the new SW leads, but nothing they did was even remotely memorable. Although if Daisy gave me the look she gave to Bublé, I would've melted right there.

I think it was a lame attempt to recreate the hilarity of the old Star Wars auditions with Kevin Spacey imitating Jack Lemmon and Christopher Walken. Now THAT was funny. SNL these days is just an unfunny platform for the agenda.

Yeah, unfortunately it wasn't very funny. SNL just hasn't done it for me since Will Ferrell left. The Lucas bit was harmless, though.

Then again, even as a PT lover and Lucas supporter, I find the Mad TV skit where he looked at himself as a god of a Star Wars religion to be hilarious.

Yeah, well, MAD TV was much funnier than SNL is today, that's for sure. I love George stuffing that french fry in the reporter's face. And Jar Jar's aunt. And drunk George in the Ewok costume. And the reporter speaking Gungan. Just brilliant.

whats funny is I found nothing in the old MAD TV skit except Aunt Jar Jar Mimma. The TFA Auditions were much funnier.
