I straight up don’t even plan on waking up, but I love the fact that my mind was so excited I woke up at 2:20 in the morning feeling like I slept 15 hours.

this has probably been the most excited I have been for a premier for a long time

Yeah, those were an OK set, seriously boosted by episode 3. Did not expect them to fire the gun they stuck on the wall in ep 1 in ep 3.

    Yes,
Omega is Force-sensitive for sure now.

And Crosshair's redemption arc continues, along with evidence he's probably dying (or that something is going wrong genetically).

I'm glad all 3 kid cadets survived.

But the island... I'm pretty sure the Empire will wreck it before the end of the season. If Omega flees there, they will definitely find it.

The cold, calculating, unemotional Scientist Villains are not something we've seen much in Star Wars before...and definitely appreciated.

I wonder how Emerie is going to fit into all this. Kill the Doctor by the end?

also.... I really hope we don't learn that Omega ends up being Rey's genetic grandmother or something. [face_sick][face_sick][face_sick] Though that's looking like the implication. At least it would only be genetic.

But also, if they don't get what they need from Omega... that could be why they're searching for Grogu, he's a back-up. And this could be why we have failed Snokes and the decaying TROS clone... it never fully works.

Though if Nala Se could do it with Omega (though the question is Why?), she could theoretically do it again. But she's definitely a goner this season.

I completely agree, I'm 99% sure it was that or it's highly related to that.

    My basic reviews:

    Episode 1
Interesting seeing a timeskip that really has nothing going anywhere as the days are more or less the same. Judging from the first set, she's been on Wayland about 51 days and by the time we get to the end of the episode, we're up to at least six months. First confirmed dating between S2 and S3 we can fill in with a well-written comic (minus lazy art-theft). I still really am not buying Emerie Karr's history. She doesn't strike me as a female Jango clone but Kaminoans have been cloning for a long time so wouldn't surprise me if she's from another source.

    Episode 2
I was totally getting rathtar vibes from the vine creatures. Hmmm...interesting.

I hope those cadets aren't one offs. Be good to see them.

    Episode 3
Hemlock's downfall in progress. I doubt Palpatine actually wants Hemlock anywhere near the power he craves. He'd sooner give it to Jar Jar Binks.

As to "is Omega Force-sensitive?", I think it's more she's a pure Jango clone just like Boba Fett and can hold and sustain the M-count. Don't forget that Lama Su mentioned to Shaak Ti they'd stretched Jango Fett's DNA to the extreme and with his death can't do much more without a pure source. That's why the clones' blood is not compatible. It's no longer as pure. With her as source while Boba is missing, she's key to whatever Palpatine has planned (and will likely move to Exegol in the future when Hemlock is out of the way -- or just replace Hemlock with the C'baoth substitute clone).

Nah, definitely Drengir :p Besides Rathtars are just cousins of the Sarlacc according to the TFAVD.

As for the "pure" DNA... you can get that from literally any person who's not a clone. It's not that. Besides, Jango himself wasn't anything special, at least in that area.

-Does Isa Durand have the same voice actress as the Sith Lady from Screecher's Reach.
-The Durand family guards have horns now, whereas they didn't in their first appearance. Interesting.
-Funny, the Pyke took the horn as a way of preventing an escalation of revenge...guess that didn't work out.
-Man, that planet's environment is screwed.
-Slithervines are resistant to blasters and cutting, but I wonder if flamethrowers would work.
-Interesting that the empire is using different alien dogs than they did on Daro
-For that matter, interesting that they have different security droids here than the ones used on Kamino. I guess this is the proto-KX like those were proto-DT Sentries.
-Imperial gunner helmets in use this early.

If the Sith lady was Angelica Houston, then yea. ;)

Don’t forget that the Season 1 premiere was also a 2-3 episodes-as-one-film drop.

I don't think I watched the season 1 premiere when it first came out. IIRC, I was still trying to get through the last season of TCW while everyone was talking about Bad Batch.

Seems likely. Hope that at least early TIE fighters will appear at the end of this season.

Timing of when you watched it doesn’t matter- that first episode is still 85 min long.

    Anybody catch...

The fact that Sith runes are etched into the floor of Hemlock's lab? This seems to suggest that whatever he's doing for the Emperor, it genuinely involves eldritch Sith shenaniganry and not mere Kaminoan cloning science.

While I think it's possible that Omega is Force sensitive (which would be weird on its own, but the Force works in mysterious ways), I think that's not what is actually happening. The phrasing was ambiguous about whose M-count (presumably Midichlorian) was being preserved by the process. What I think is happening is that they are trying to create a strand-cast (Ventress is the obvious guess from the trailers) and something about Omega or how she was created will stabilize the process. I don't think Palpatine would give them his own DNA for their testing process (or Anakin's!) - he doesn't need a bunch of Sheevs running around plotting against him, but he'd be confident that he could stop any successful Ventress clones that showed up.

Nala Se was destroying the samples w/o testing, so she already *knows* what they'd show. I'm betting that, in addition to making Omega female, the Kaminoans were doing more tweaking to Jango's DNA than they'd been letting on.

    That would be great.

I would especially love it if the TIE Fighter got an introduction similar to the TIE Defender in Rebels, painting it as a super ship that can easily dominate any clone wars era fighter. Show that the tie doesn't outright suck so much as showing its age by the OT.

Sadly, I wonder if we will have time for a sideplot like that with everything firing on all cylinders so fast.

Or its the Emperor's mood lighting. ;p

But yeah, interesting stuff. I wonder how much Hemlock knows about Sith Alchemy and the like.

    Speaking of C'Boath -
didn't Wayland have some sentient population in legends, humans as well as two native species I believe? Similarly, was the jungle there portrayed as dangerous as it is in this show?

Yes, Myneyrsh and Psadan. Maybe they will appear in this series and help clones to attack Tantiss, thus by mirroring The Thrawn Trilogy.

Okay, I caught up. Didn't take as long as I expected.

I forget, why did the Imperials want Omega? IIRC they sent a bounty hunter to capture her, then decided that just her blood was good enough? Then they decided they wanted her to force Nala Se to cooperate...then succeeded in capturing her, and that's where the last season left off, right?
