Hoth would be hard to do, what with the tow cables and all, at least i'd think it would be don't know alot about programing. I think i'd be cool to see some famoues EU battles, but at then again hoth is hoth.

ARG! I got to the end of the trench run, and I missed!

Do you just use lasers or is there a different button you press?

    Right Mouse Button, Night? :p

Also, for those having trouble with Vader, I find that by 'Using the Force' and turning the Radar off, it's ten times easier to dodge him.

Also, if there's a highscore table anywhere, mark me up with 1884925 and 16 surviving wingmen. //grins

This is a fun game, but is too hard. I finshed it once, but thats it. There are some unfair parts in this game that I will list. First there are to many fighters. Second, the enemies can shoot through walls. Finally there are not enough wings. The minimizing problem is becoming really anoying. Right as the Darth Vader part began, it minimized, but before the window was restored I crashed into the wall and lost the game. I know that Bruneras already talked about this, but didn't he fix the problem in Battle of Endor. I definitly like this game and hope that he continues to make more Star Wars related game, but at least give us a chance.

Ok maybe I'm stupid but how exactly do you "Use the force"? I got to the Vader part but died almost instantaneously, it's alittle annoying when you spend 40(or so) minutes getting to that part then dieing only because you didn't know how to do something...And yes I read the readme but I don't remember what he did in the movie so I wouldn't know what to do...

There are two theroies of how to go:

Turn off your radar and it becomes easier. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's possible.

Counter-Clockwise circles. Makes it much easier. This is how I did it.

Woo Hoo!! Just finished it, and by just I mean I was down to my last life with only a quarter of my energy left! A cracking game...when's the next one out!?

My score in the end was 2171275, with 14 wingmen left.

Err... 2 posts back, I said "Also, for those having trouble with Vader, I find that by 'Using the Force' and turning the Radar off, it's ten times easier to dodge him.

From what I gather, when he does hit you, it decreases his laser power, or something. Recommend you circle around too.

Hey, I think the game looks great. I have tried DLing it, as well as the Battle of Yavin. I get the same problem with each game. When I start it up, it comes up, but then almost flashes and then goes away. When I press Ctrl+alt+Del, to see what is running, it does not show on that menu. I just wondered if you had a suggestion for me.

    Thanks

wow, i loved battle of endor, but this one is 10 x better!!

i actually felt like the fate of the rebellion was in my hands as i made the trench run, the music was great!!!

shame though, i lost my last life at about 50000 feet from the end. didn't even get to vader. will try more later

oh man, i finally got to the end with darth vader, he is so impossible. I even turned off my radar like you said, but with 3 lives left, he completely destroyed me..

It doesn't help that every time you die in that part you go back to 20000 feet... In the movie he didn't shoot that fast!

Also maybe you could add in biggs and wedge to take some of the fire like in the movies.

The game is still freaking cool, but that last part is near impossible. even with radar off and going counter clockwise

I love these little games, even though I haven't made to the trench yet. I'm so glad LucasArts/Lucasfilm haven't gone after you for this, since it's arguably more fun than some of the stuff they've come up with lately. I've donated a little bit of cash, thanks for the wonderful gaming gifts. It would be great to see more from you using this engine. The flat shaded polygons are simply gorgeous.

The game is beautiful Bruno. The music is really well done, and programmed in great loops. I've had the minimizing problem, but after turning other programs off it's virtually disappeared. I've not beaten Vader and I've been up against him maybe 10 lives so far, but I've not turned off my radar. I'm not a big gamer and I'm able to get to the trench often so I don't think the game is too hard- and it's too early to tell about Vader.

I really think you've captured the feel of A New Hope. There are so many times when I look at the screen or hear a TIE fly by and it's like I'm flying in the movie. Very well done. Anybody at LucasArts listening? Throw Bruno a bone! -Campbell

    thanx everyone for your praises.

I've little free time for making games due to my full time work. but for those that are speculating with a third game, don't worry, there will be a battle of Hoth to complete a trilogy, with animated AT-AT, AT-ST, speeders, TIEs, TIE bombers, SDs, and oviously... Asteriod field. But that certain won't be before cristmas.

being involved in a "similar" project (a SW mod on the fs2 open source engine) I want to congrat with you for the excellent job you've done, I have a vague idea of how much hard it should have been for you to do all this job alone.

BTW I have to report a problem here.
I was able to play at your BOE 1.1, but none of the further versions work here, and unfourtunately BOY doesn't work too.
I see the small loading image, but then nothing happens and I receive an illegal operation error on D3D8.DLL
    My system is a bit outdated, p2 400, 256mb ram, w98SE, dx9.0
Battle of Endor 1.1 is installed and still working fine

Bruneras, take a bow my man. What fun it is to play this stuff for hours!

One request though: cheat codes. Yes, call me a wuss, but I can't make any headway at all and have been playing day and night. If not cheat codes, something similar! PLEASE!!!!!

I have a question for you users of both the Battle of Endor and Battle of Yavin games. I'm having a heck of a time trying to play them on my PC. Based on previous feedback, I adjusted my video image to 32 bit. Now, the game looks like it wants to load, but before it fires up, I get hit with a pop-up box that reads:"TrueVision3D Error: The device has not been created" message. After hitting the space bar, another box reads "Run-time error '91': Object variable or With block variable not set."

Now, both the Battle of Endor and Battle of Yavin games are the latest available from TFN. Oddly enough, I must also have had an older version (1.1 I think) of the Battle of Endor, so I loaded that up after I received the series of errors, just to see what would happen. Well, the new versions of the games still acted the same, but the old Battle of Endor did start to run but the image of the opening screen was shrunken down to a small box in the upper-left corner of the screen. The music kept playing, and the game actually started up (with a proper full-size screen) when I hit the space bar. (I was just randomly hitting keys at the time because the little image in the corner was too small to even read. I tried to take a screen shot, but it wouldn't take for some reason.)

Here are the specs on my machine if that would help with the troubleshooting:

    > Compaq Presario 5868
    > Windows Me
    > ADM Processor: ADM-K7 600 MHz
    > 128 MB RAM

I have also downloaded the latest version of DirectX. Any ideas guys and gals?

Holly crap this is brilliant fun. No problems getting to the end with Vader, but he TOTALLY wiped me out. After spending well over an hour getting to there, it was a little frustrating! Oh well.

will try tips from peopel to get past Vader and not get totally vaped. Well done, this rocks.

Hrm...I'm getting the minimizing problem more often too. Also, when I look at the Death Star from a certain angle, it doesn't show up, which is especially funny at the end when the big explosion comes out of nowhere.

    YES! I beat it!

Wow. I was wrong. The difficulty level is perfect. I just barely made it.

When they say you have to make counter clockwise circles, they aren't kidding.. You have to practically get 2 inches from the wall.. I almost crashed when doing it. BIG circles..

    Anyway, you rule Bruno.

Wonderful game! I just beat BoE an hour ago, and now I'm instantly addicted to this one. I've heard mention of a cheat code that was used in BoE and BoY...for those that know it but don't want to post it, could you send it to jorrankale@yahoo.com ?

    Again, fantastic game!

    Hi Bruneras,

the two new versions are still not working on every PC. Will there be a patch so that we can play them like version 1.1?

Did you try them on a win98SE pc?
