    Hi fellow X-Wing pilots!

These games are absolutely great! What a pity, my new computer doesn't have a small parallel port for my Logitech Wingman Warrior. Think I will install my Soundblaster live to get joystick support. :)
I definitly need joystick for classic X-Wing ... reinstalled it yesterday ... graphics got worse ;) ... and no sound (IRQ? IO-Port? DMA? DOS drivers? good old times ...) ...

    Battle of Endor:
First I thought it was too hard. Falcon got destroyed and several times Mon Calamari before I could destroy the Executor. But now I get it everytime ... just destroyed all laser guns of Executor and watched my wingmen destroying it. ;)

    Battle of Yavin:
Vader is really hard. bruneras, what do you mean with the hint in readme.txt? Deactivating radar? Still died everytime ... Do I have to survive Vader with just one life (cause I start always at 20000)? Ok, let's try circling around ...

    Some tips for rookies:
    - avoid collisions ;)
    - use laser mode 4 for tie fighters/interceptors (got three ones with a single shot ;) )
    - laser mode 2 in trench for laser guns
    only BoE:
    - immediatly fire your torpedoes on star destroyers when they're reachable (stage 2, 4 and 6) to make torpedo slots free for new ones gained for each 5 TIEs ...
    - die shortly after firing your torpedoes, not before ;) , torpedo slots will be full in your new X-Wing ...
    - 3 torpedoes each energy pot for normal star destroyers, 4 for Executor
    - after that, try to destroy some laser guns to protect your wingmen and Mon Calamari (Home One)

    @bruneras: THANK YOU!!!
    Some wishes:
    - Forum or Guestbook on your homepage for instant feedback and community. Was really hard to find this thread here ...
    - enlight the red triangles of laser crosshair when they're ready to fire. Then you could even remove the laser mode text.
    - what about target selecting/locking like in classic X-Wing? with detailed information on your control panel and with a key/button to lock nearest enemy ...
    - remember laser mode between mission parts in BoY and after dieing
    - longer score list names ... 3 letters are really arcade :)
    - more statistics after game:
    laser shots/hit/friendly fire hit,
    torpedoes gained/fired/hit,
    destroyed TIE fighters/interceptors/star destroyers,
    survived wingmen, ...
    - don't let us wait until Xmas :´-( ... I don't need many new features ... just new missions for BoE ... fight two Executors ... play only with one wingman and protect him :) ... change sides and fly a TIE fighter ... destroy all laser guns on Executor and let some shuttles dock and capture it ... fly A, B, and Y-Wings ...
just to fill the space until Battle of Hoth ...
    - make it possible to switch to desktop (minimize) and back and continue playing
    - save game during mission? (to beat Darth Vader ;) )

Oh, have to stop now ... fighters coming in ...

I'm finally able to get up to level 5, but I'm still learning how to navigate the narrower parts of the trench. Haven't gotten to Vader yet. This game is awesome! Bruno should be working for LucasArts!

I've noticed a lot of people saying that they're having trouble getting past level 4. Hang in there and don't give up! The only piece of advice I can give you (and it's probably a pretty obvious piece) is focus on the TIE fighters, always. I always make the TIEs my first priority. The star destroyers and turbolaser guns aren't as much of a menace to your buddies as the TIEs. If I'm enroute to helping a mate out, I might take a few shots at a turret or an energy pod, but take those fighters out first!

I've made it to level 5 a few times and each time I've been able to carry about 5 or 6 of my buds with me. I can't wait to take on Vader! I hope this post helps, if only a little bit. Enjoy!

Awesome game Bruno! I felt a real adrenaline rush when I got to the final part of the trench, even though I got shot shortly thereafter. The game really draws you in. I particularly liked the music and the sound of the engines. That made it feel like you were really in the cockpit!

    Hello everybody,

had a lotta help from reading the messages and since
Han Solo saved my wing I will add a little to those gameplay tips:

    BoY - Level 1
I experienced that attacking the cruisers fast saved most of my wings - not that chasing too many ties.
Going in from behind, destroying the energy pods and then out for hunting - the wings finish the big ship alone.
    Level 4
Merely attacking those turbo lasers and deflection towers on the right side (of where youre approaching) makes much sense. Later on the star destroyer will show up somewhere on that side and the battle against ties would be much harder for your wings with that extra fire from the ground.
    Level 6
Yes. Counter clockwise. Another hint: Cause this rotating is hard to do (and show me youre able to perform a perfect circle when Daddy is that angry behind you!), take more care of using the heigth of the trench than the width.
My oval movement flying up and down was VERY helpful surviving this attack from those ties.

Ah.. those hints helped me to get through quite good; my score table though, well... lets talk about something else...
    Hoping having helped someone...

PS: BoH at christmas time ?
Santa Bruneras !! - Fantastic work..

Man! I loved Battle of Endor, and I can safely say I love Battle of Yavin. Bless you bruneras, you make awesome stuff, and waiting till Christmas is no problem, knowing that the end result will probably be just as awesome!

Man... Darth Vader killed all of my 3 lives in under a minute. When you dudes say 'turn off radar', how? Is there a turn off the radar button? I couldn't find one in the read me, and by the time I'd tried a whole bunch of buttons, Darth Vader killed me.

    Some father.

Anyway, I finished the game. The guy that makes these should be so proud - all I can say is that I can't wait till after Christmas. :)

    Well done!

*ahem* I don't think so 2tyler...your wingmen will shred the Star Destroyers to pieces if not for the TIEs. Actually, they do a really good job killing fighters too, but as long as you give them some help, you'll take no casualties at all =)

Everytime I played BoY I was finishing off the last of the tie fighters in stage 4 by myself. Last time I played it I finished with 3,901,550 with 20 wings
