Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes General Discussion [Wii/360/PS3/PS2/DS/PSP/PC]

Eh, looks okay.

I'm still holding out for Republic Commando 2 with Crysis level graphics, bu it just aint gonna happen

 

I need something specified for me on Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes. Is it going to be released on 9/15 or 10/6?

 

I'm pretty sure the latest reports says that it has been pushed back till October. Most likely a marketing move to coincide with Season Two.

Still hoping for Wii-Motion Plus support.

 

The demo is absolutly horrible.

 

What happens in the demo? Why is it horrible?

 

I hate to talk negatively, but the game(demo, at least)just doesn't cut it. Teeny, tiny characters, awkward game control...side scrolling that looks, and plays like its from ten years ago. I'm sorry to talk it down, I know lots of people worked hard on it, but I would expect more from Lucas Arts. I really wanted to like it. But with games coming out, like Wet, Batman:Arkham, or what ever, you cant compare . And this isn't about it being a game for kids,its about quality. IMHO.

 

I love the demo. The controls are simple yet satisfying, the graphics and art look great, and it feels like Star Wars. I'll definitely be getting this.

It's much more pleasant than the Force Unleashed that's for sure.

 

Welcome to the post-Clone Wars(the show) videogame world. This game is bad. Really bad. If you thought TFU was kinda weak, don't even bother with Republic Heroes. I wanted to like this game, was probably gonna buy it. Thank God for this demo. I wasn't expecting a 10/10, but this...this?

 

It's obviously very based on the way the Lego games play, but without the twee Lego humour it's hard to be as forgiving of its shortcomings.

 

Seems like expectations were pretty high for this game. Luckily I had no expectations, probably why I like it.

 

I agree completely. It's like Lego Star Wars without the Lego charm, and with poor graphics. I thought it was an all around terrible demo.

 

Poor graphics? It looks exactly like the series. What were you expecting?

 

No it does not. The 360 demo looks like it belongs on the PS2.

 

Well, I think they wouldn't spend a lot of money trying to deliver good graphics to young players that care more about fun gameplay than high resolution graphics. And I'm pretty sure that the PS2 version is worst than the XBOX360 version.

 

Awful demo. I cannot believe that there is no animation for the Jedi battling aside lightsaber bolts.

Also, the story instantly irritated me when Ahsoka could sense something and Anakin couldn't. WTK? Made of dumb.

It looks like a Lego PS1 Game sans Lego. The clone mission was a bit more alright but not being able to aim? Jesus. The Jumping is horrible, I must have died 10 times trying to line up Anakin to a center platform. Does the world still need side scrolling?

 

Wow, so far it's gone from looking like a PS2 game to a PS1 game. How long before it starts to look like a SNES game?

Apparently not.

 

Well, Sonic games need side scrolling. Since Sonic 3 & Knuckles that sonic games are crap...

 

Played the Demo today.

The clone missions are laughably horrid in design and implementation, and the control scheme, designed to be simple, constantly had me going, "NO! I want to use my other weapon!"

The Jedi levels are less horrid, but I expected something other than Jedi Power Battle with slightly improved GF/x and less powers. Yes, LESS powers.

And since I mentioned the GF/x...I think someone was lazily sitting around, and the deadline for this game came up, only half polished/designed, and he got the nerve to basically say, "Well it looks like the show, we were shooting for that right? I'm going on break."

I swear my 360 thinks less of me for playing this.

 

The XBL demo was horrid. I had high hopes for this game and was seriously disappointed. As others have noted, this thing reminded me of lego star wars or ROTS. Side scrolling, really? I was disaapointed with character control, camera views and generally the whole gameplay. This game was either severly rushed or was always intended for 5 year olds. I'm just hoping that TFU USE is worthwhile. And as long as i'm on topic, when are we going to see a new Jedi Knight game with updated graphics? I'd love a new one in this series.

 

Saw it. Passed.

Lucasarts has robbed me enough times with their buggy, half done games. This one was so bad it was apparent from the demo. I'll rent it maybe. But that's it.

 

Not out here for another couple of weeks.

I'll be buying it, I love the series.

 

Why is star wars coming out with crap games? Why can't there stuff be any good.

 

Well for a start, "Star Wars" doesn't make games. Many different people make Star Wars games, and it's hard to make a universally praised game no matter the subject matter.
