Remember that Krynda Hulis had two sisters, and that gal has an awful lot in common with Kreia, from looks, to vision talents, to age, to Miralukan second sight. I also could have sworn there was something in the games themselves that completely turned me off Kae and Kreia being one and the same. Some discrepancy somewhere...

Dammit, where were those KotOR dialogue files again? I lost them after my machine update.

There is way too much to list here but the first embargo on the fan site summit has been lifted and there is a lot to read and listen to.

Particularly, people should listen to the Q and A sessions. Lots of interesting things about crafting, legitimate mount confirmation, and more. For example, Nar Shaddaa's main street are a neutral zone when it comes to combat and represent an area where players of both factions can interact.

No appearance tab, because the higher-ups ( meaning: the money guys ) wanted the game to be traditionally loot-based. [face_frustrated]

Cross-faction communication is still being tested according to one Q&A.

I always thought having no communicaion across factions, allows the players to act even more immaturely. Besideds it is not as if you have the time to type out a statement as you fight an opponent.

There are neutral areas. Nar Shaddaa was confirmed to have a neutral non-combat area in one Q&A.

Well, new video is up. While the focus was on the Sith Armor progression, I couldn't help but notice you saw a jedi with a Vader-esque breath mask this time around. Very unusual.

No appearance tab, because the higher-ups ( meaning: the money guys ) wanted the game to be traditionally loot-based.
Ah yes, the money guys. This vague, omnipresent group of people who go around making terrible decisions and passing off fans....because that makes money. Somehow.
Heaven forbid the idea that the actual game developers had their own reasons for wanting to do something a certain way.

Yeah, as interesting as I found this update and the jedi version, I would rather have them reveal the advance classes for the SI and JC before doing this type of thing.

We know the advanced classed for Inquisitors and Consulars. I assume you mean that you would prefer that they had released the class updates for them?

Wow! That was awesome! Sith Warrior will now be my first character. Originally it would have been the SI, but that class has gotten less and less appealing as they released more information. But the SW... =P~

You can download KotOR and TSL's .tlk files there, if you so wish.

As for Kreia=Kae, I think that may have been the case earlier in TSL's development -- there's the echo of a connection, there -- but it was eventually dropped. Avellone himself said, regarding people's speculation: "No comment -- but good catch."

There was more than an echo, surely. There was a post once which laid out the evidence in a series of images (mostly of Kreia/Handmaiden speaking). The penultimate image was of Handmaiden explaining that she had her mother's face, and the final image was simply one of Handmaiden standing beside unhooded Kreia.

I'm sure you know all the evidence backwards, but put together like that it was extremely persuasive. I really wish I could find that post, but my search efforts thus far have come to naught! I remember it very vividly...

    EDIT:

    Found it!

Okay, so it wasn't a post here and it doesn't end with the images I remembered, but I still think it's very persuasive. :p

I like the new droid designs. Like this dude:

I've not seen that before. Well, the photos at least. But then again, I've not been religiously following all of the updates on the game as they come out, so I'm not one to judge.

That's the great thing about "no comment" - we can take it whichever way we want.:D

Yeah, I recall reading that before. Hell, I was advocating Kriea=Kae for yonks immediately following my TSL playthrough. It's just, if I remember correctly, the dialogue that most firmly cements the idea (in which Kae is referred to as Revan's first Jedi Master) only exists in the .tlk file, having been replaced in the game itself by another one that implied Kae was just one of the many masters Revan studied under after leaving his first. So... I started to figure it was a cut plot point that they didn't fully exorcise.

    I mean, "Kreia" = "I R Kae". :p

But, you're right, there's more than an echo. And Handmaiden was TSL's female Luke-figure, to boot. ("I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like my mother before me")

Still... my guess is it went the same way as Atris becoming Darth Traya. (Which would have only further served to emphasise the "TSL is Planescape:Torment in SW" thing. I wonder who could be the Trias the Betrayer analogue. Hmmm. [face_thinking]:p)

Been reading the Imperial Agent article and watching the video on IGN. I think I will enjoy that class. But anyway, so you get two choices of class specialty; sniper or operative with the latter being used for healing. Interesting thing is that the person mentions that you summon a Kolto Droid for healing. Did a quick check on Wookiee and Bacta is already known to the galaxy by this era so seems we get some further instances of Kolto being used.

How about you check why I refered to them ( i.e. try to get the quote from Daniel Erickson ), instead of shooting off poodoo from the hip? Erickson specifically mentioned that the decision to not include an appearance tab came "from above", i.e. it was not the developers decision.

Gah that's rubbish. Still there is a good chance it'll go in afterwards, it's frequently one of the most demanded features in any MMO that chooses not to include it.

I will NEVER understand why such a decision is made though, how is letting the players choose how they want to look is a bad thing? Ugh. Loot hungry players/raiders only care about the stats half the time anyway.

SWG and LotRO have both handled the appearance thing quite well. SWG actually offered too many options in a way heh. LotRO meanwhile offers 5 tabs nowdays as well as a 'wardrobe' which lets you store a copy of an item for use only for appearance sake, letting you trash those rubbish but good looking chest plates and helmets you looted at level 5 without losing them as a cosmetic option.

While I feel confident that the game is going to offer a nice range of outfits/different looks and such, this combined with the lasting ambiguity surrounding whether cross faction chat is in the game definitely dampens my excitement somewhat. Which is a shame because it has been at an all time high after reading various impressions from fans and journos.

Basically I'm loving everything I'm seeing, but fear that BioWare will play it safe in regards to the cross faction and other more social aspects (or in other words, look to much at WoW for inspiration when those are the things WoW does terribly badly).

Because I've read the developers saying the exact opposite. They choose to do it because they wanted advanced to be both readily visible and that using the appearance tab to hide the quality of your gear was unfair in PVP.

There are also different layers of developers. "From above" could mean just about anything.

Been going through the fluff behind KotOR once more and been wondering on what kind of factions we might see beyond plain Sith and Republic. We know there are Hutts around who are doing "I'm on your side but selling to the other side as well" but who else? Black Sun? Czerka? I know we have that thing about a Czerka base on Tatooine but who's side would they be on or would they be neutral whilst selling to both sides?

Also, anyone think that Kashyyyk might get added into planets we might visit? Would be interesting to see how its fairing though I can't see the Sith being very interested in it since it had only recently shaken off Czerka's rule. Unless there are some Rakatan machinery by the forest floor that interests them....

Lots more planets are definitely on the agenda, IIRC, yeah.

On one hand, I'm tempted to say Kashyyyk seems a definite for its existing KOTOR usage and the fact we currently haven't got a "jungle planet". On the other hand, would Dromund Kaas sorta count as the token "jungle world" given it pretty much is one, but for Kaas City? That said, Kaas is a faction capital, so presumably end-game for the opposite side, which leaves me leaning toward Kashyyyk or some other jungle world.

Or... come to think of it... was Voss kinda jungley? I remember pictures of really weird trees, I think?

Out of season, maybe. Weird, maybe. But not really a jungle.
