Interesting developer team-up here too. I rarely go for these now, but a long time ago Shining Force was my intro to them.
If I have a system that'll play the game, I'm probably in. I love the CW era and hope they have put in the work to fit these missions into the campaign we all know and love
Confirmed for PC/PS5/Xbox Series https://twitter.com/eastarwars/status/1911816230908121249 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It’s being made mainly by Bit Reactor, who AFAIK haven’t published anything yet but they were founded by Firaxis vets (makers of XCOM). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking forward to this. Outside of Battlefront maps and some brief Flashbacks in Fallen Order, Disney Star Wars has not involved the Clone Wars in their game until now.
Star Trek Section 31 killed the whole Guardians of the Galaxy misfit trope for me, so I hope this is more Republic Commando and less that in tone
I could do without the trope of sticking a lightsaber in the hand of a pre-existing character design. (I guess that's what Vos is but shh.)
Nice. Very cool to have some Clone Wars story content, especially with a crew not just of clones and jedi but a rather diverse team. The Umbaran is especially interesting for the reasons pointed out by others. Though I have seen some speculation that the story might be Dark Times instead, especially since the Clone's armor is pretty beat up and mix-and-matched, and there was that leaked shot of Bo Katan vs phase 2 clone troopers though that could easily be test stuff without story implications, in which case it could be fun to have a story of ex-separatists and republic loyalists joining forces against the empire.
The OS says it's based during the Clone Wars: https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-zero-company That said, it could pull a Squadrons and jump temporally. I would not be surpised if it's based toward the end of the CW, given how they don't look like novices and the Umbaran's story would probably be stronger after the CW episode.
Oh yeah, that settles that. Still, you are right it could be near the end, and it would be interesting to see a loyalist Umbaran in that situation. Or maybe cover the whole war and even beyond a but, like how Republic Commando opened with Geonosis at the beginning of the war and ended with Kyshhyk near the conclusion of the war.
Going by the panel at Celebration: Set during Clone Wars. Customizable characters and recruitment options. You can make your own D-Squad if you want. Team operates out of "The Den" on Ring of Kafrene. Will include the most detailed and interactive map ever used in a SW game. Anaxes teased as one location. Team's starship is a new design. And is called the "Kazon" (not sure on spelling). Has a droid pilot named "Meevo", M3-VO (or M-3VO)- looks like a mix between 2-1B and FX-7. PS5, XB, PC.
The panel starts around 6 hours 28 min into this video. And this article on sw.com has some info other quotes from it. The quick character description for the Umbaran character states that this is after the Umbaran invasion, so we have a rough timeline placement. Planets include Serolonis from BB, Vandor from Solo, Mapuzo from OWK.
