Stargate and Stargate SG-1 Discussion- "Children of the Gods: Final Cut" out now on DVD!

call best buys corporate office and raise hell. A dvd set missing a dvd is not unheard of. My season 7 disc 5 was messed up also. I exchanged it for another season 7 and it worked fine.

 

Alas, when your Boxed Sets are Torrented Sets...there is no one to complain to...

I had a similar problem with the last disc of Season 7. I also bought it at a Best Buy in IL while on a work related trip. Glad I watched it within the 30 day return policy. I didn't have a problem with the last disc in my replacement set. Who knows about the other discs though.

 

If anyone cares or didn't already know, they canned the SG-1 game. Apparently there were quality issues and the publisher called it off. They may look for a different developer once they get all the code from the current publisher but since there will undoubtly be some legal fighting over that its going to take more then a little time for a SG-1 game to see the light of day.

 

That sucks. I was looking foreward to an sg-1 game.

 

If you saw it, you should be happy they stopped it. It looked awful. I would rather play the Half-Life mod Stargate TC than that game. It is of higher quality.

 

I had been keeping up with it on IGN. Nothing I saw looked that bad. It definatly wasn't breaking any new ground.

 

So its deffently been cancelled? I keep on telling another kid i know and he doesent believe me even though i keep sending him sites. His been looking forward to the game for ages and he just keeps saying thats its been postponed.

 

I thought it looked good (especially for something only half finished). 'Tis a shame.

Well I guess that isn't entirely true.

The publisher (the people putting up the money, among other things) basically fired the developer (the people writing the code and what not). It would be like a producer firing the director, writer, and actors of a movie. It doesn't necessarily mean the movie is actually canceled but it sure as heck doesn't mean that you'll be seeing it anytime soon.

Same thing here. I guess it isn't really canceled but at the same time you don't have anyone working on it so it isn't going to get made anytime soon. Add to that the inevitable legal fight over who is owns the code, what part of it the publisher is entitled to and what if any of it the developer gets to keep and its not going to be coming out in the near future.

 

thanks for clearing that up I'm not a big fan of the show but i like the general idea and i could see it being a very fun game. I actully have the one on snes

 

That was a fun game. Its on my list of games to buy a snes for if I happen across the game.

 

I dont actully have the game on snes but i do have the rom of it on my computer. I played it a few times and it was sorta fun but annoying using a keyboard and watching on a small screen so im sure i would enjoy it a lot more on the snes console and on a tv. Actully now that i think about it i probly wouldnt because i dont even like stargate

 

The Stargate looked awful in the game. AWFUL. The 2D gate effect in SGTC > The Gate in the official game. Not to mention, the whole rest of it looked complicated.

On the subject of the Alliance video game there was another interesting development. We all knew there would be a legal fight over the rights to the game but Perception issued a statement in response to JoWooD's statement. Its pretty funny and pretty child-ish when you get right down to it.

I wish they would just drop it. That game looked so awful I wouldnt even download it illegally.

Seriously, the resemblance is freaky.

 

Tonight's episode was awesome. I really liked Valla, she's an interesting character because you know she is selfish and greedy as they come, but she did show a softer more caring side in tonight's episode that i always thought was there. She also looked hot as hell.

Why isn't teal'c using a staff weapon any more?

Mitchelle was the only member of sg1 to get infected. I'm surmising that daniel and teal'c were protected because they had been cured of a similar disease in season 6. I think Valla may have been imune because of the left over go'ould(sp)stuff in her.

I'm looking foreward to having carter back.

 

Eh, Carter is just a walking Deus Ex Machina. I was enjoying the "technobabble" free episodes

I'm probably one of the few people not looking forward to her return but I'll give her a chance to see how she fits in with the new themes and members. Then again if as soon as she opens her mouth Mitchell tells her to use plain English I might just give up on this season (probably not buy maybe).

Another very good episode though. It was good to see the softer side of Vala. (current episode spoilers) I'm also glad to know the connection between Landry and Dr. Lam, 'cause I was getting a little weirded out thinking it was some kind of failed romance. I wonder if the reason that only Mitchell got sick was because the Prior is petty. Making Mitchell sick would of made things hit home a little more for Daniel and he would take back all the mean hurtful things he said about the Ori. I'm sure we'll find out more as time goes on. Future episode spoilers: Especially since the same plague effects earth in the two part mid season break.

Edit: BTW looks like the SG:A wormhole effect maybe here to stay. A change I'm pretty much indifferent to but I know there were people on other sites that were quite upset.

 

Can someone update me on the Landry/Doctor thing? I walked in right when he said, "Excuse me" and left, and missed everything else during that scene. Please clarify, because I was getting weird romance vibes, and that is disturbing.

That's a big sigh of relief, let me tell you. Phew.

And I really don't want to see Daniel and Vala together. Friends, maybe, but nothing more. Myabe if Vala didn't irritate me as much, I would change my opinion.

 

How can you find Vala irritating!? She's hilarious!
