Well isn't just being a case of being yourself... sometimes you might have to suppress that a little, just in the beginning (depending on the kind of person you usually are!). Actually the easiest way I've found is to go in there with no pressure and just get to know the girl. Aim to be friends with her before going any further. Worked with Andrea and the girls I've been out with since. Not only do they feel less intimidated, it means if things
don't work out you don't feel so ******

But I can hardly preach now, given my wonderful track record

Stability? Yes, that helps. It's always far more impressive if your would-be date / attacker can actually stand up whilst tipping his bad hat in your direction.

Unfortunately for me, that is where I usually end up.

Me, I'm about to start it all over again at the weekend. My best mate and his wife have set me up on a date with this girl they know. We're going for drinks Sunday afternoon.

She has seen a picture of me, and my mate's talked my up to her, and I know only three things, her name, her age and her height. Really fair there then!
