I had almost erased all bad memories of those books, and I had to stumble into this thread. I only actually read The Lost City Of The Jedi (or whatever it was called), but that was way more than enough crap for me to swallow. I think the thing the stupidest thing about that book was that Grand Moff that wore blaster-shaped earrings (what the hell?), or that stupid Ho-din healer that could only speak in rhyme, or Han's stupid floating house, or all the silly acronyms (S.P.I.N comes to mind, can't think of the others), or the word "Zoochberry", or - gah! Why'd I read that stupid book?

The moff jokes had me ROFL earlier this morning.

So why is it that, while GL has gone to such lengths to bury the Holiday Special, the SPIN cycle continues in print?

Umm.. the holiday special is worthy of a thread for itself (Hint: Leia singing a christmasy song).

If you thought the "Glove" series was bad...

I wonder how I could ever (cheaply) get my hands on the Holiday Special. THIS I've got to see.

Now I want to run to my local library and bury myself in Moffell. Never read those Glove books...was warned away from them as soon as I started the EU. But "Mission from Mount Yoda?" Dear goodness.

I got the Holiday Special on ebay for $8 plus shipping. I've only watched it once. It is just plain horrible, and most of it isn't even horrible in a funny way. In fact, some parts are downright disturbing. The only good part is the cartoon which introduced Boba Fett. Also, the late '70s TV commercials were rather amusing. :)

I got my copy through a private purchase 5 years back. It cost my 25.95 but as I say it was between me and another fan. eBay is a better bet and yes it can be downloaded although why you would wanna waste money or memory on your harddrive for that stinkbomb is BEYOND me.

Download the Boba Fett cartoon and the part where Leia SINGS the Star Wars THEME. Thats right it has lyrics.

10 GONKS on the head for the first person to post the Lyrics to Star Wars.

I decided to read the whole series just to see how stupidly bad it is. I read the first two in like 20 minutes each and that was sheer torture. SPIN? WADD? Sky house? Jedi city? What's a Jedi PRINCE? BLASTER EARRINGS! Save the whales, save the rainforest, blah blah blah. These books are moffstrosities. Haha, aren't I clever.

Just thought I would raise the moffship.

The fact that this series says that Jabba's will was never found should be a good enough reason to let those EU purists know that this series should NOT be shoe-horned into continuity. It just won't fit.

Dagobah University? Hologram Fun World? God, must I go on?

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." --Obi-Wan Kenobi

I'm ashamed to admit that I actually read these horrendous...blashemies.

Of all the works in SW literature, they are undoubtedly the only ones that even approach the adjective "hellish".

    //Squirms and makes excuses:

Well, I was seven at the time, and the only reasone I liked them was because they were Star Wars. I have renounced the folly of my youth! Really, I have...

And people say that these moffstrocities aren't part of continuaty, when bits and pieces of them get used later. I say someone should string up lucasfilm liscensing if you don't want them acknowledged anymore. I was just reading the write up for the stories in the EG to character(I never read the books except the first one, I don't remember it being that bad, maybe I have to read further?), which doesn't really show how bad the books are, but it does talk about triclops escaping into the jungles of yavin. If the vong destroy yavin, you can be certain he will die with the planet(everyone pull out your popcorn it will be a great show). :)
