...which is both good and bad as we don't know how Pratt or anyone is going to sound like until maybe in the teaser.

My assumption: it's going to be like 2022's Chip & Dale where John Mulaney was Chip but sounded like John Mulaney. Andy Samberg was Dale but sounded like himself. Their voices were their "real" voices and the voices we heard in the old 90s Chip & Dale cartoons was them doing a jokey voice for TV because to them the 90s show was also a show in universe.

I did like Pratt and Day as Emmet and Benny respectively in The Lego Movie, so I kind of feel it's going to be essentially the same thing here.

 

Jack Black as Bowser? Yeah I can see that. He’ll do a good job.

 

So Bowser as well as Donkey Kong will be in this SMB movie? That's interesting; considering after the original arcade game, Mario wasn't really "affiliated" with anything to do with DK. They went their separate ways.

Yeah but I was referring to story-based games. Those MK games are mish mashes of different games. Don't they even feature both Princesses Peach and Daisy? There's also the sporting games like Tennis and the Olympics (that feature Sonic lol).

 

Mario Kart is not in same category as the sports games made by smaller companies within Nintendo. It is main franchise, it features characters from the main stories like Rosalina.

 

It's main franchise, but is there any sort of a plot among the characters besides just racing against each other?

 

Who said it has to have plot to be main?

 

Maybe they can include the original Princess from Donkey Kong, for good measure.

I meant in the new movie.

 

I liked Pauline as mayor in Odyssey. I didn't know she was in MK 8; I thought she was only in MK Tour. It would be cool if she made an appearance in the film. Heck, throw in Princess Daisy from Super Mario Land and Rosalina from Galaxy in too.

 

I’m pretty excited for Chris Pratt’s voice to be a terrible fit. Just two more days until they can’t hide any longer.

 

DK is in Mario Kart and Smash Bros. The two still work together regularly.

 

They're also in Mario Golf, Strikers, Rabbids, and probably many more examples I'm sure. We'll see if they're friends or enemies in the movie. I assume friends.

 

I wonder if we’ll get a Luigis Mansion Horror spinoff.

Okay, after watching the trailer: I'm in.

Chris Pratt doesn't sound too bad, Jack Black is sounding great with a more serious tone as Bowser, and it all looks great! So from the way Mario reacted, it's his first time big there, so an origin story per se.

Now I keep reading about spin offs and such but how would you do a Zelda movie? Like what timeline would we even follow in that? What the heck even is the timeline?? lol

Yeah, I think that movie will earn a few dollars.

IMO this is how the Sonic movies should've been. The live action/CGI mixing is just outdated. I just feel like it ruins the plot of the original games.
