Event specific dating apps ought to become a thing. Rather than speed dating at the event, try to connect with someone and plan a date ahead of time during the event. And it takes the pressure off the date as well, because if it ain't there, you just say alright well nice to meet you have a good con! And then you can maybe even set up another date if you are legit trying to find someone with this shared interest.

But yea, speed dating at a con, I don't know what would be worse, my actual pitch to someone, or if someone actually fell for my pitch.

There was a web series on youtube called Geek Love, and its about the guy who came up with the Speed Dating thing, running a program at NYCC. I dont know if the larticipants were really like that in real life or were told to geek/nerd it up for the cameras, but the participants for lack of a better term were obsessive about their fandom/tv show...

You know, something like that could work. Maybe they could even have like a social or meetup for people qho use the app like the day before Celebration starys so you can get to know the other person so hopefully you can meetup later throughout the con..

Hello, has anyone heard back on panel submissions for Anaheim? I know the application said they would notify starting March 1st.

Dang, another week goes by with no update. I'm really hoping we hear back on this before tickets go back up for sale.

Guessing (hoping) that we'll hear something this Wednesday/Thursday after the ticket sale. Maybe a panel, maybe first guests (would love both but let's not get greedy). At this point I'll take host annoucements!

There's that much potential content this year, what's everyone think will be the lottery panels this year? In Chicago it was IX, Galaxy's Edge, Mandalorian, and TPM 20th. So my gut is Obi-Wan, Andor, Mando (and related), AOTC 20th. I'm sure Disney Parks/Galaxy's Edge will have a panel but it doesn't need to be a morning lottery panel this time. Depending on guests (for the 20th) and planned announcements (for the future) they could switch the AOTC 20th out with a Future Film/TV panel for the lottery.

Think that will only happen if you host the panel yourself and track down all the cast. Maybe next time?

I imagine there will be a panel for video games or even just specifically the Fallen Order sequel. Did they use a lottery system for the first Fallen Order game panel in Chicago? I can't remember.

Yeah, Fallen Order was an afternoon panel like Clone Wars so it was just open to everyone (and always try the arena first, TCW screening room reached capacity before the arena!)

So this thread is pretty long, and with a title and tag for Chicaco. Maybe it's time to start a new one?

If you can't change the tag, then you probably should.
