"Tales from Monkey Island" [PC/WiiWare] & "The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition" [PC/360]"

Well, the controls are slightly more user friendly than those of Escape from Monkey Island, although, I thought Guybrush controlled a bit rigid, and I desparately wished that the right mouse button bought up the inventory, instead of having to laboriously scroll all the way over to the right hand side of the screen. IT FELT LIKE SUCH AN EFFORT WHEN THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON WAS JUST SITTING THERE WITH NO USE. But, controls aside, the demo is excellent, the dialogue is wonderfully sharp and the game looks beautiful (if slightly slow on my horrid Intel Graphics Wielding laptop).

I just wish I had the cash to get a new laptop and play the game in it wonderous glory.

Are the flashing words at the end of the credits of SoME:SE, "Guybrush Threepwood will return", supposed to be a hint to get the Tales episodes, or the tiniest of teasers that they're doing a SE for Monkey Island 2, too? That's not old news, is it?

 

Finished it. It is awesome. Everyone go and buy at least two copies of it. There is no excuse.

Anyone prefer the early 90s interface than the new one? It spoils a good game for me. And is anyone else not able to change from the updated version to the old version?

 

Episode 2 of Tales of Monkey Island has been out over a week for PC, and is hitting NZ Wiiware on the next uptate.

Episode 3 of Tales of Monkey Island is released today.

Solid, solid episode - and no Jungle maze! Plus the return of a "Classic Character (tm)", who is even better in this episode than the previous MI Games he appeared in.

 

Oh really? Who is it? Stan? Murray? Largo? I have to wait a few weeks to get it on Wii cuz my computer is teh suxors. Tell meeeeeeeee!

Well, 4's ending really exploits the episode format, doesn't it...

I'm not sure limiting the whole thing to an island we already know was such a good idea. The singular new place in 3 worked better because it was new. Though I suppose nighttime is a nice touch and story-wise it makes sense, though more for LeSinge than for the actual titular Trial.
But I guess it was worth it purely for the digs at the "annoying" and "tedius" puzzles in 1

 

10 days left till the last episode, can't wait! EP4 was amazing and this whole series is a breath of fresh air in pc games these days. It manages to be "classic MI" while doing new plot twists and puzzles.

 

If I can bring it up here.
