Spoiler It’s showing a moment from the final TCW episode from her & Rex’s POV as they walk out to confront Jesse and the rest (the actual episode shows Jesse’s POV from the other side of the door). A moment that could only have happened thanks to all of the training from Anakin that helped her survive Order 66 in order for her (and Rex) to be there.
Stumbled on this by chance but really liked the angle it took on why the final episode is problematic: https://dorksideoftheforce.com/2022/10/28/lets-talk-about-tales-of-the-jedi-and-the-ahsoka-novel/
Yeah, this is a big reason why I had an issue with "Resolve". Especially since the Larte sisters have been in other stuff.
I am not really that deep into it...just that they made such drastic changes to canon like they did with Caleb/Kanan. I am not against Ahsoka fighting another Inquisitor...but just make it a different story than was presented in the novel. Same with Kanan...I would have loved and episode of Bad Batch with him and Janus Kasmir encountering the BB and seeing the Kasmiri in action on screen.
Season Two hasn’t aired yet. You may yet get your wish. I remember the Kanan comics quite fondly and I’d love seeing Janus and his notorious ship on screen.
Fair enough, thought the link was done pretty clearly in the ep, especially with the throughline to the following Ahsoka ep being set shortly later. Also through the ep the Clone armour changes and her lightsabers change too, demonstrating the passage of time.
I can't say I was watching it that closely. Even if I had I wouldn't have picked up on the armour changes though, bit too subtle for me.
You didn't pick up on the fact the Clones/characters went from their AOTC design to their ROTS design, that Ahsoka went from having one lightsaber to two, and then Rex having the markings on his helmet? Didn't think it was particularly subtle.
I saw that. I was expressing surprise that it was subtle full stop but all good, the question got answered about a page back so not much more to be said.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of this series, less for its quality but what it represents. The Ashoka episodes are meh (especially the second one) and I am also very disappointed that episodes 6 seems to be the so far worst example of a lack of interest on Lucasfilm/Feloni’s part to actually make the diverse SW media work together (much better articulated than I could in the article linked by Jedi Ben). The Dooku episodes are pretty good, but I really would want the character to get more time in general and for his actual turn to the Dark Side to be explored more; we still haven’t had any story in canon about how he ended up learning about/joining Sidious. I think I’ve developed a kind of “Clone Wars”-fatigue: the show ended almost 10 years ago, but Filoni and a lot of Star Wars TV (which is at the moment THE Star Wars medium) is still focused on the same characters and keeps returning to the same elements. Rebels at least began with a new core cast and used CW characters in new roles (and support rather than protagonists), but now the Bad Batch and Tales feel like just more Clone Wars. I guess, I kind of just want Filoni to move on or let somebody else with new ideas take charge instead
Spoiler Why does the tiger go after Ahsoka and her mother instead of just taking the (probably) more appetizing antelope creature? And also, are those lothcats?
Spoiler True. Heck, after all these years it is still unclear how one becomes a senator. Spoiler Only indirectly via whatever federal laws they vote into being I believe, with the states having their own governments including their own senates. Course, federal policy can have a big effects on the states especially when it comes to things like disaster aid or environmental regulations. Spoiler Likely it was originally trying to steal the kill from Ahoska's mom, and when that wasn't working it grabbed Ahoska because she was smaller and easier to carry away. Predators prefer safe and easy meals. Probably a relative of some kind. I can imagine there being many breeds of Tooka as they get spread around.
I can certainly sympathise with this point to a degree. At this stage I feel like the Clone Wars is pretty well worn ground and I don’t need for them to revisit it again. Seven seasons, and coda of sorts in Bad Batch is good for me. Let’s move on.
Lol don't think there was any tangent, much less a weird one, it was directly answering your question, but maybe it was too subtly done. Yes, it seems a bit odd to spend a third of this new series focussing on essentially Clone Wars content and not exploring new concepts. Maybe a way to ease people in? Just doesn't seem worth it with what we got..
I think it was probably Filoni wanting to give something to Ashley Eckstein and Matt Lanter, considering that most of Ahsoka and Anakin’s storytelling is going to be in live action. The Dooku stuff was so interesting because it seemed like there was a genuine idea behind it and an effort to do something new by exploring a character and a time period that hasn’t had much attention on screen before.
Spoiler The handwave on why Obi-Wan and Dooku have never met at that point felt more than a little weird to me with Dooku being in the Temple during TPM. Like.. just walk upstairs and say hi to him.
