Seeing the young Duros on Bane's side reminds me of that one comic where a childhood friend of Bane impersonates him leading to a confrontation to the original and some insight into Bane's motives and origins. I doubt this is based off that old comic, but still reminds me of that.
One thing about the Cad Bane stories means that we will likely start seeing Duros in the background of the cartoons now that they have the assits
No glimpse of Boba says we're still not getting an adaptation of the story where he shoots Bane, but that's fine, this looks great. I love cowboy stories and this is two sets of cowboy stories, one of which is a cowboy-girl with a lightsaber. Win!
Looking forward to it, hope it also means we can expect a Tales of Rebellion and Tales of the New Republic in 26 and 27.
Feel like Tales of the Mandolorians will be a thing at some point. I want to see Pre's fallout with Dooku. I also want to see how they would show TCW era Dooku in the current artstyle.
Oh man, you guys telling me that Thrawn isn't Duros? How was I supposed to know? There was only one to compare him to!
The plot twist is that the point all the Tales of and the other live action shows is actually in the goal of slowly building up the alien animation models for it. Which now I think about it actually explains why that one Yam'rii like species was in Bad Batch. I thought it was possibly for preparation of a Tales of the Seperatist's for a Grevious segment.
I was just starting to wonder when we’d see more of resurrected Ventress. Time is an interesting concept when it’s in great abundance. Over a year has passed since Ventress first appeared in TBB Season Three.
Seems like those are Nightsisters ghosts, maybe Ventress will occasionally see them as a sign, that she does not completely belong to the world of living.
It's cowardly storytelling in the simplest use of that phrase (non-incendiary). It demonstrates that creatives are scared of closing off story telling potential with a particular, popular, character rather than backing themselves to create new interesting characters, or creating a compelling enough backstory for a character that a tale is interesting despite knowing the outcome. Case in point Andor when first announced was met with skepticism as we 'know how Cassian's story ends' but it has been a huge success because of the rich storytelling. They didn't need to make up some convoluted way he survived the Death Star attack in order to justify a series about him.. I have no issue in this very specific instance of Ventress being alive because she's literally a member of a species known to use magic etc. but as a general point it seems that all three of the franchises you've mentioned have a character/creative issue where they're terrified of moving on from a popular set of characters because of fan reactions. SW happily killed off Han, Luke and Leia (after the EU spent literal decades refusing to move on from them) but have struggled with how to move forward since.
in regards to Luke, Han, and Leia Star Wars is struggling to move on because they turned the force awakens into a shortsighted new hope remake and then realized too late that tech would have allowed them to build from the immediate ROTJ era onward if they had waited a few years rather than rushing into episode 7, I think Star Wars would be in a much better place
Perhaps, but I for one am happy to see side-stories given animated love, especially on May 4th. Ventress is a good addition.
Yep, as I said, in this specific instance it is ok, it was more a general comment about the normalisation of resurrection.
Well, Luthen has parts of Mortis gods murals in his shop, maybe he, Cassian and Jyn are yet another set of Father, Son and Daughter avatars and thereby can be saved via World Between Worlds.
Luthen is someone who believes in all this Mortis and WBW, you got a character who believes in the fantastical but is in the grounded
The idea of Andor ending with Ezra coming out of the World Between Worlds and yoinking Cassian from Scarif has me cackling. I love that Star Wars has such a breadth of tone/content that that is technically possible even though it's so far outside of Andor's wheelhouse. When watching Mon Mothma's grounded political/marital drama scenes I like to take a moment to remember that all of these people personally know Jar Jar Binks.
