I'm looking forward to this. Christopher Lee voicing DEATH again, woo!

    Also really liked The Hogfather.

And as for the actual colour of magic, I say greeny blue.

I got the March Sky magazine today and it also has an article on the show. As far as the air date/time, it also has it placed 'over Easter'. However, they also list a 'Making of..' show on Sunday Mar 16 at 5pm on Sky One.

I'll have to try to get someone to record it. The Hogfather was quite enjoyable, although Susan wasn't exactly as I always imagined her. I'm hoping this will be good, 'cause smite me but somehow Rincewind is not really my favourite.

I just saw some footage from it in a Sky ad as well. What I saw looks good. I haven't read the book though so I'm not familiar with the story.

I'm must admit I'm a little disappointed that they've re-used David Jason as Rincewind, I always pictured him as a younger, useless wizard, rather than the older looking wizard he's seen as in the new show.

After all, he has to outrun the Dungeon Dimensions. Also, anyone seen images of the luggage yet?

Lastly, it will be interesting to see if they have combined The Light Fantastic into The Colour Of Magic, as they are essentially a two-part story with a definite cliff-hangar ending in between them. I could see them combining them, as the original books are easily the shortest of all of his stories.

This month's Sky Magazine has a Behind the Scenes article on pages 12-13. One of the pics shows Twoflower's luggage (with all the feet).

Also the article in the March What Satellite magazine says the show is based on both books.

Been seeing an ad for this all over Sky Movies. It starts at 6pm on Easter Sunday on Sky One.

There's also the 'Making of..' special on Sky One today from 430-530.

The 'Making of' special was pretty good. I know it's repeated on Sky Two or Three. It's worth catching!

Agree completely, and it laid to rest some of my concerns seeing the making of show. I'm now really looking forward to this on Sunday and Monday.

I just won't be able to get to grips with Rincewind as David Jason, to me he will always be Eric Idle because I loved the first 2 discworld games! But am looking forward to it

I am really looking forward to this.

And if you wanted the authentic Discworld Game experience, shouldn't they have gotten someone who sounds like Jon Pertwee?

    It's about to start!

Remember, if you come in late and you have Sky via satellite, it is on multistart - just press the red button.

Am I the only one who thought the Hogfather was pretty much unwatchable?

Great design and production, but a story that is about as interesting and fun and a fungal infection.

Watched 20 minutes of The Colour of Magic and could tell it was going exactly the same way the Hogfather.

While its great that such a popular British story should get the small screen treatment, its just a shame that the stories are so bloody awful!

I'm sorry, but they're slow, dull, lack any real drama and suspense and if you took away the production design and famous "Discworld" name, they would be slated for being the poor TV movies that they are.

I actually liked Hogfather more than Magic. I thought the villain in Hogfather was especially creepy.

This has always been the big problem, I think, with a Pratchett story being adapted for the screen. What makes the Pratchett story work so well in book form is the word play and literary techniques that he uses. It is very hard to transfer that to screen very well.

Their biggest issue here is that The Colour Of Magic is basically four short stories, with The Light Fantastic being an actual book length story. This was really clear in the way that the two episodes played out. The first half on Sunday was disjointed, half of the first book was missing, and it just did not flow well at all. The second half on Monday, that was mostly the adaptation of The Light Fantastic, worked much better for me, and even made me chuckle in some places.

I still feel that they need to re-look at the books that they consider adapting. Obviously Hogfather was chosen because they wanted to do a Christmas story, and then they went back to TCOM and TLF as that was the starting point of the whole series. But so many of them are just not really suitable.

Personally, I would like to see an adaptation of Guards! Guards!, as this one appears to be the closest to a classic 3-act story that could be converted into a film/mini-series.
