ST TFA Tickets / When and where are you seeing it?

Is this on Fandango?

 

All I know is I'm going to be hitting F5 a lot tonight. I need good seats. NEED.

 

I wish we could get a confirmed sale time for Fandango. I'm a nervous wreck.

 

I'm not sure about that part of it, but at the box office they'll be on sale at 7:30 pm tonight. I'm calling back in a few minutes to check on the first showing and see if they'll be doing a marathon.

 

Word of warning to anyone in the UK who wasn't planning to pre-order - the IMAX 3D I'm going to at midnight has now sold out for the entire first day. You're already too late to see it on release day, so get your tickets while you can! If you just turn up on the day you will not see the film in a decent seat until after Christmas, most likely.

This is all assuming you want to see IMAX, which is the only way to watch a film IMO.

The discussions that pop up in here about whether this film will be a success are looking fairly hilarious right now, by the way.

 

I wonder when Cinemark's will go on sale...I need to get my tickets ASAP! The excitement is real!

 

I'm in Chicago, and have been refreshing Fandango periodically throughout the day.

Still nothing...

I always sit in the very back, on the outside seat closest to the door.

 

My theater (Cinemark) has those "double" rows where there's the primary row with a walkway, and then a "ground floor" below the walkway closest to the screen; the entrance is a hall that leads to the middle walkway. The best seats in the house are the ones at the bottom of the primary row, right at the walkway. The people on the "ground" row are way below so there is no chance of any heads blocking the screen, and you're at an awesome distance–close, but not so close you have to crane your head to look up at the screen. I'm going to try to get there ASAP and get in that row. I'd love that.

 

The sad thing is I do know a couple of friends who only heard about the tickets late this morning after they had sold out at midnight at our IMAX. They were pretty gutted. Very very sad for any of us to miss out on this, so I feel really bad.

 

Our local AMC theater here in Cupertino, Ca says they are not able to tell us when tickets will go on sale, and that this info will be announced with/after the trailer. My impression is that they have been told they aren't allowed to say, pending an official announcement. Likewise, Fandango link for this area has no announcement in when ticket sale start, just the generic "sign up for an email alert" thing.

 

Still nothing...................

 

My brother and I are aiming to get tickets for that same theater, I think- Valco. I just called them up and they said tickets go on sale right after the trailer drops during MNF. I had been hoping they would miraculously say the tickets go on sale a little earlier or someting... no luck!

 

The person I talked to said we would _find out_ about sale right after the trailer. That could mean that they go on sale then, but they could not confirm that.

I am debating the merits of trying to get them there in person versus going on fandango.

 

Just had the most stressful morning.

- Tickets came on sale at 8AM
- Bought tickets for the 12:15AM session on the 17th in 2D, but the only seats left were on the side.
- One of the tickets was a 'student' ticket, and about 5 mins later to my horror I realized that my student card expires 5 days before.
- Worried that they wouldn't be able to change my booking without me losing my seats (as it says on their website), I went back to the ticket website and found the 12:15 3D session with really good seats still available so I decided to buy them as well, this time with full price tickets.

So now, $100 later I have double booked tickets for the Midnight sessions in both 2D & 3D where I have the choice to risk seeing the 2D session with bad seats and hope they don't check for my card, or see it in 3D and try not to let it distract me.
Now I feel really bad that in one of the sessions there are going to be empty seats that somebody else could have used

 

My theaters FINALE have (some) showtimes!!!

 

I got my tickets after paying twice. (they will refund me for the first try, I'm told). They're fall a smaller theatre and worse seats, but still 2d and subtitled, not dubbed. Hooray!

 

So they're selling out this quick? I'm a little nervous because I'm not sure if I can get any until Thursday!

 

Huh. So for a brief time, Fandango was showing showtimes for Thurs night for several South Bay Ca theaters, though purchase wasn't open till 7pm tonight. But now when reloading page I get once again the page with no info/sign up for alert. I wonder if it isn't supposed to go live yet, and it was a glitch?

 

For those who are interested, theaters listed were Saratoga AMC, Eastridge, Mercado. Many Showtimes throughout evening after 7pm.

Huh, and now it is back up. Weird. In any case, one can start getting ideas on showtimes for planning. Says sale at 7pm PST, though I plan to check earlier.

News here for me is that Thurs evening WILL have showings that aren't part of marathon, and it's more than just the one 7pm I'd heard about.

 

Fandango is also showing availability in my area, but it won't let you purchase until 10pm EST. They currently only have AMC theaters on there, with the earliest showtimes beginning at 7pm on the 17th.

 

got tickets for the first 8 days lol!

 

Just snagged 2 tickets for the 7:00 showing at one of our IMax theatres! Beyond happy right now!

 

Just got my tickets for Thursday night at 7:00 PM on Fandango!!!!!!
