All day. Seriously, probably getting in line around 7 a.m. on the 17th for the 7 p.m. show. We will have a nice sized group with us and its just going to be a party all day long. Weather will not scare us off.

I'll try to be there as short a time as possible before the showing. Preferably around fifteen minutes before. I don't want to run the risk of getting spoiled right before the finish line (there are two or three showings before the one I'm attending - all in 3D which is why I chose a later showing).

For RotS got in line around 6 hours before it started and that was in WV, so if I had to wait in line for seats now in NY, I'd say I'd probably get in line around 8am for a 7pm showing. (If only because I wouldn't want to get up any earlier). Luckily they had assigned seating so I don't have to worry about it. I'll probably will still get there a little earlier than normal just to take in the fun!

One solution for that: Headphones! Before ROTS, I had my iPod loaded with some good tunes and pulled my earbuds out when the trailers started.

Just the movie boxes! Junior Mints seem to sell out quick at the Dollar Tree, so I'll try to scout out early for movie snacks.

A friend of mine and I were crazy when it came to smuggling for movies. One time we even smuggled in a whole barbecued kielbasa from the local supermarket deli counter. And I'll admit, I had been known to smuggle beer too, but about...oh 10 minutes into AOTC, some nitwit kicked over his empty bottle and it rolled, rolled, rolled to the bottom of the theatre. It was a whole lot funnier than it sounds, judging by how many people in the theatre were laughing

don't have to show up for awhile for the Star Wars Thursday night shows, reserved seating rocks. For Friday night, I plan on seeing it in widescreen 2D (the Thurs nighters are 3D) - no reserved seating! - so for THAT, if I'm ridding solo, gonna have to do, like, a half hr at least beforehand (only 1 seat isn't THAT hard to find but still want a good one!)

I don't think we have any theaters left in my city that have free seating. Maybe in very small, super independent theaters. But I'll be there about an hour before to feel the buzz. I'm sure others will too. I'm going to the first showing, so no worrying about spoilers for me. The local imax is in a mall, so I'll probably arrive early and buy everything ever SW related that I find while waiting. :p

For ROTS, we went to that same theater. It was the only THX screen in my city at the time and no reserved seating. It was chaotic. People from other rooms wanted to come to ours and they had to have security check ticket by ticket and kick people out. So other people played the Imperial March on their phones. It was so much fun. And there was the mandatory light saber duel up front.

That's awesome! I have a Storm Trooper one like that that I'll be wearing. And a Chewie backpack. And SW adidas shoes. And a shirt. I thought it would be over the top, but heck, it's only once a year in a lifetime.

My local IMAX theater has pre-determined seating. That is, you select your seats as you buy your ticket. Now, I am admittedly a procrastinator when it comes to these kinds of things - even for something as big as Star Wars Episode VII - so it was not until last night that I texted my friend asking if he wanted to see it. Being the good Star Wars fan he is, he had pre-ordered his ticket with someone else the night they went on sale. He told me I could go with them, but the chances of there being a seat anywhere near them would be pretty unlikely. Imagine to my surprise when there was one barren seat next to them at the theater - and it wasn't even a crummy seat! About 6 rows back, near the center right.

Truly this was the will of The Force. :yoda:
