Games *The 2nd and Hopefully Final Game of Thrones Survival Battle* WINNER : MARGAERY TYRELL!!

I like to think they actually just had beers together at the end and laughed at all the dudes they outlived

 

Who were the top 10 last time? I know Shireen won, and I think Sansa was in second?

 

in the first battle this was the top ten:

1. Shireen Baratheon
2. Sansa Stark
3. Davos Seaworth
4. Eddard Stark

6. Brienne of Tarth
7. Jaime Lannister
8. Arya Stark
9. Missandei
10. Brother Ray

so only ned and brienne finished in the top ten both times. in the first battle i was going for lyanna mormont as my first choice, but after wang chi mercilessly murdered her while i was on vacation and everyone else was fighting over hodor, i switched to sansa as my first choice. brother ray finished so high because i started upvoting him as my decoy character to distract from sansa. then at the very end, when it came down to sansa vs shireen i actually switched my allegiance. i think shireen might have still won, she finished with 13 points (same as margaery this time) but it would have been a lot closer.

anyway, i know this is all very fascinating lol, so i'm going to keep going. see, last time i didn't have a set top ten going into the battle or anything, and i was actually really surprised when some people revealed that they did. so this time i made one. i have the piece of paper right here in front of me and i will share it with you now.

1. Margaery Tyrell - and she won! yay!

2. Joffrey Baratheon - i just thought this would be a fun twist ending. and also i've come to really appreciate jack gleeson's portrayal of such an utter prick. it turns out that he was the most fun villain game of thrones ever had, and the show suffered a bit in his absence imo. but i quickly abandoned any hope that he would have a realistic chance of winning this so i don't think i even gave him one upvote.

3. Lady - maybe i'm just a sap, but this is still the saddest death in the series for me. i got her up to 99 points, but i realized that no one else shared my feelings for this poor pup so i gave up the fight when people started voting her down.

4. Arya Stark - i knew she was too much of a favorite to have a chance but i'm still a fan. i upvoted her a lot early on but mostly it was just to annoy arlon after every time he downvoted her.

5. Ser Pounce - making this list is what made me realize ser pounce wasn't actually in the game, so i put him in. and what a roller coaster that was, lol.

6. Barristan Selmy - love me some ser barristan. was planning on upvoting him if he got attacked, but it took so long for that to happen that by the time it did i was more focused on getting to the end and protecting marge.

7. Missandei - honestly thought there would be more support for her this time around, i gave up pretty quickly when i realized there wasn't.

8. Hot Pie - hot pie! 6th place? not too shabby.

9. Lyanna Mormont - she wasn't quite as high on my list this time because she wasn't a total underdog (in the last game she only started with 5 points). i figured she would get quite a bit of support this time and she did, mostly from diggy and jordan. glad she made it as far as she did.

10. Daenerys Targaryen - i'm a dany fan, so sue me. but she started with way too many points for me to actually favor her to win. characters like margaery and melisandre really started in the sweet spot points-wise, where they weren't automatically a target and you also didn't have to upvote them like crazy in order for them to have a chance, thus making them a target.

okay, that's my cool story.

Lol I brutally killed both your two first favorites and we ended up in a partership for the third

 

I wasn’t pulling for anyone in the battle. I just wanted to downvote whichever character pissed off the most people.

Marge & Talisa here, thought about going Sweet T at the end but revenge for the last game was too good to give up.

Also Talisa was practically dead a second time except @tom posted the resurrection a minute or two late:

I thought that you would have been my enemies anyway, so let's just kill her off once and for all. But I failed with the timing.

 

I did write a top 10 but i think I lost it! I never really set out with a victor in mind though, I more know the people I don’t want to win. Besides Hodor of course. And ser pounce this time round. But ultimately I know they were never gonna win, I just enjoy the battle and seeing how long they can last

 

lol timing goes both ways, I was actually resigned to her fate and stayed up late to give her the first killshot myself (in order to avoid that terrible Red Wedding gif). But you must have coordinated with @HL&S to do it together and I had to watch her brutally die anyway!

Temporarily, that is.

 

Wait, the SEX PERSON won?!?

 

Yes, I was coordinated with solojones and HL&S for Talisa. The idea came to solojones.
Then Jedi Knight Fett ended up being my most loyal brother in arms, and toward the end he promised to try to win with Melisandre. We discovered VLM only much later. It was too late in the game to try fancy strategies like what you did effectively with Talisa.
HL&S stopped playing more or less when he was not allowed to kill Lyanna after he single-handedly downvoted something like 200 points from her.

 

Funnily enough, I think Jabba not voting her up helped this time.

 

the funny thing about the resurrection wasn't just that i saved talisa, but also that i would have saved hodor if i had let the posts stand. it was a sort of survival battle sophie's choice, lol. but i honestly didn't care either way, i was just annoyed because i had the whole list ready to go with the cool night king resurrection gif and you guys have no idea how tedious it was adding 1 point to all those hundreds of characters, and i just assumed everyone would wait for me.

edit: i totally assumed i would have to summon wocky at some point, but yeah it would have sealed her doom.

My problem with the resurrection is that I had to explain my plans to too many people in order to keep Mel in the top ten and afterwards I didn't have freedom to play tricks.
