Well, I could stand to lose some weight, and plan to start dieting and working out more this summer (at the start of July). Knowing that there are bizarre diet plans out there, I decided to surf the web and see what ones I'd some across, when I come across this:

    The 3-Day Diet Plan:

"This is the 3 day diet plan it is to be used for 3 days at a time. If you follow it correctly you can lose up to 10 lbs. in 3 days. After 3 days of dieting, resume eating normally for four to five days, do not overeat. You can start back on the 3 day diet if you like.

You can add herbs, salt, pepper, lemon, vinegar, Worcestershire, soy sauce, mustard & ketchup to your foods. Drink 4 glass of water or diet soda or any diet drink without sugar or use only diet sugar

The 3 day diet is a calorie diet, as long as you eat the same amount of calories in any type of food you will lose weight fast. You can switch the diet food around any way you wish or replace the foods you see for another with the same caloric value"
    :

    Day One:
    Breakfast:
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
    1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 slice toast with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter

    Lunch:
    1/2 Cup of Tuna
    1 slice toast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

    Dinner:
    3 oz. any lean meat
    1 cup green beans
    1 cup carrots
    1 cup vanilla ice cream
    1 medium apple
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

    Day Two:
    Breakfast:
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
    1 egg (any style)
    1 slice toast
    1 banana

    Lunch:
1 cup cottage cheese or tuna
    5 saltine crackers
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

    Dinner:
2 beef franks or hot dogs
    1/2 cup carrots
    1 banana
    1 cup broccoli or cabbage
    1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

    Day Three:
    Breakfast:
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water
    5 regular saltine crackers
    1 oz.(slice) cheddar cheese
    1 apple

    Lunch:
    1 hard boiled egg
    1 slice toast
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

    Dinner:
    1 cup tuna
    1 cup carrots
    1 cup cauliflower
    1 cup melon
1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream
Black coffee or tea (Sweet & Low or Equal) or water

Hmm, what do you make of this? Normally I don't buy into these diet plans (most of which sound too unbelievable to believe), but this one grabbed my attention. What do you think, is there any merit to something like this? Is it possible? The only thing that seems a little streched is the idea that you can lose up to 10 pounds in only three diets, just following this diet. Seems a bit far fetched, but none the less, do you think it's possible?

10 lbs in 3 days? Hello. It costs over 3000 calories to lose 1 lb. On that diet, I'd be eating just as much as normal. No way in hell I'd lose weight.

    Impossible.

The only way that would work is if you exercised a lot everyday you were on the diet. However, if you did exercise you would need to eat more then that. So I don't think it will work.

    ridiculous...

seriously if you want some help pm me... i work out alot and read alot of magazines about it.

i have found the easiest and most do-able way to lose fat and cut is moderation.

    for example:

breakfast: glass of water and english muffin with a little butter

lunch: turkey sandwich, protein shake, glass of water

    dinner: chicken or a burger

    snacks: protein bars or vegtables.

of course you could vegetables and fruit anywhere in between. the key is to not eat fast food and to just think before you eat.

do you really need those slices of cheese on your burger?

do you really need to eat all that food?

dont just eat something because it is there in front of you, eat something when you get hungry.

i just finished a intensive 10 week lifting program and am trying to now cut the fat i gained. i was eating anything and everything and lifting hard for those 10 weeks.

so today to work i brought 3 chicken breasts and a protein shake.

wake up a little earlier and plan your day out. i try to make a lot of sandwiches or chicken breats and put them in zip lock bags in the fridge.

also i haven't checked your profile, but what type of person are you? old, young? slim, medium, overweight? active, semi active?

side note: i have bad asthma and have a hard time doing cardio, so i have to lose most of my weight by diet. so i try to keep myself to 5 to 7 small meals a day. and by meal i consider a chicken breast or a protein shake to be a meal. and i space em out at about 2 hours... that keeps your metabolism really high and continually processing rather than bulk of food ----> slow down repeat... as the normal 3 meal a day does.

edit note: i just reviewed my post and i want to apologize for the rambling and stream of consciousness manner that i post... and apologize for the hard returns between lines... i know all that makes my posts hard to read... but thats just how i post once i start trying to type as fast as i am thinking and stuff starts to get jumbled and rearranged and new thoughts lead to thoughts i wanted to post originally and then spark newer thoughts... see i am doing it again... sorry.

I'm almost positive my father tried that same 3-Day plan. And if I recall, it worked.

    Amazing.

Did the weight actually stay off? A lot of the "lose weight fast" plans involve dehydrating or starving yourself, and the weight comes back when you start to eat and drink again.

It was several years ago, so I have no idea. He was recently on a new diet, but I don't know if that's because the old weight came back or if he gained new weight.

    Amazing.

To think, if you use that diet AND excersize, you might lose even more weight.

I excercise frequently and my diet is okay, so I don't have to worry about gaining fat. Well, it also might have to do with my naturally-high metabolism... ;)

If you're losing ten pounds in three days, well, that is just not healthy. Any doctor would agree.

The safest rate to lose weight is 2-3 pounds per week.

I don't think that diet would work in just three days, maybe if you continued for a week, you could lose 2-3lbs, but definatly not in 3 days. Besides as said above, it's not healthy to lose that much weight in so little time.

If you want to lose weight fast get on a low carb diet. Read into the adkins' diet. I did that once for 2 weeks once and really toned down. After you do a low carb diet for 2 weeks, switch to a balanced, low fat diet. In conjunction with all of this, work out at a local gym 4 days a week. In the morning before you go to work (or school) or in the evenings. I work out 4 days a week and just eat low fat diet and stay in great shape. It may take a few month for the difference to show, but once it does and you see positive results, you'll stick with it. And it's actually an ongoing process for it to stay with you -- so you have to change your lifestyle if you want to look great continually in the future. A 3 day diet? A flash in the pan. You'll look good for a week, maybe...
