Can we find a Tweet or something for this so this "theory" can be dustbinned?

But if we're going to hyper focus on language and logic, we have to point out that he is no longer her target because she has quit.

Once she has quit, the testing is over.

Osha is surely who the Sith actually want. Framing Mae, while constantly putting Osha in positions to grow angry, is only increasing their chances of turning her.

She still has a use to him, to turn Osha to the Dark Side. She will not survive the season, however, I am certain of it.

Why would Mae's mom want to kill her?

She thinks Qimir is her Master not just that he’s in league with him. Of course he’s not the Master (he’s the apprentice of Mother Aniseya who is the real Master) but Mae doesn’t know that part.

So Darth Mom doesn't want Mae? She really wants Osha?

I do have a feeling that Osha is far more poweful than Mae and has been like holding back or not in-tune with the Force/Thread to use it sufficiently yet. I'm trying to make the leap of getting Mae to kill Jedi, without a weapon, from a Sith Master that she doesn't know about, who's secretly really her Mom, in order to ... seduce Osha eventually.

Mae telegraphed her growing revelation of Qimir's real identity in every single individual scene. There is literally a moment in every scene. Before they even take a single step away from the ship it begins with "*You* went into that dangerous forest and tracked a Wookiee Jedi Master...? *disbelieving stare*"

You all would have been fun in 1978....

"What if Vader Is Luke's father?"
"Vader can't be Luke's father, wouldn't make sense"
"Maybe Obi-Wan is actually the Emperor? Weird how they couldn't catch him running around dat Death Star."
"Chewie is a Jedi in secret"

I think what will really make Osha go to the darkside is when she hears the truth about whatever the Jedi did to her Coven. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Master Sol did something she can never forgive, like kill one of her mothers.

I think things will play out like this:

    1. Darth Qimir or the Jedi will kill Mae.

    2. The Jedi will kill Darth Qimir.

    3. The real Sith Master now needs a new apprentice, and their eye will be on Osha. Osha is the real "acolyte" of the show.

    4. If we get future seasons, the drama will be on the Jedi trying to turn Osha back to the light, and whether she can become the next Sith apprentice.

Yes. I want to know Andy's opinion too. :)

The whole "kill a jedi without a weapon" totally ties in with the idea of the rule of two (and only two).

You need to stay hidden if your enemy is literally in the tens of thousands and an entire Republic. You need to hide, but this will be in plain sight of your enemy as you want to conquer them. Otherwise the Jedi find you, as per Brendok.

If you reveal a weapon at any time, the Jedi will fight back and win. Finding ways of killing Jedi without your weapons - of killing the dream around them - necessitates the secrecy, the staying hidden, and the arts of manipulation we see in Palpatine. It all works well with the opening of TPM and Palpatine's partially-honest appraisal of the machinations of the Senate.

    It's excellent in my view.

Mae may be a literal test of this idea, or an experiment of sorts.

I hope this is what we're seeing, from different points of view. Quite what the goal of revealing yourself to the Jedi now is, I don't know. Maybe that is the ending of this cycle of the experiment: We're not ready to reveal ourselves or capable of overthrowing the Jedi yet. Lesson learnt. Back to the drawing board until we know how to kill thousands at once.

Look, I made peace years ago that when people attempt to register accounts with the Kinema Elite Online Salon and are rejected, for some reason they all inevitably settle for coming here to demonstrate their intellectual superiority over an all-ages accessible space fantasy series and point out that the genus of sod imported onto set ruins the illusion of natural grass and disqualifies the believability of the clearly artificial meadow.

Yes, the lesson Mae has taught herself is literally Palpatine’s entire MO throughout the prequels.

This is her upon entering the Wookie's home and seeing him dead.

"He's here" She says this in a hushed, whispered tone. As if someone is still listening nearby. As if, suddenly, her plan has gone wrong and she knows she's in deep trouble. As if she did not expect this outcome.

This doesn't sound like someone who thinks "Oh hot damn, Qimir did it already!. Qimir...come out, come out, where ever you are!" Why not immediately yell "Master, thanks for killing him for me. I did as you asked."

It's not just that she's surprised either. As if wow, "Qimir got out of those ropes so fast. And scurried up the path ahead of me" No. She's terrified of her Master being here. Especially because she now thinks her Master thinks she quit.

What was the alternative in her mind? How did she expect this to play out if this was her plan. She wanted her Master to kill the Wookie. He did it. Why is she terrified now?

If she figured out that Qimir is her boss, who she never seems terrified of when he's Qimir (even if that's part of her sneaky plan to now show how scared she is) why is she suddenly terrified of him being there already. Right now? She just won. She completed her lesson.

Again, great concept. But it seems we need to twist about 13 times to make this work now.

While I'm sincerely hoping the writers did make some sense out of this mystery they are weaving.........Disney+ history has impressed upon me that if the writer isn't named Favreau or Gilroy we might be in for a bumpy ride.

She should have said, "My plan worked! I pass the test!"

Another poster above said that the writer for the episode debunked this theory.

You mean the plan Palpatine enacted that required him to know the exact hour of which day in a specific month that the blue milk would spoil in the cooler at Dex's Diner in alignment with Jango Fett using a Kaminoan dart to kill Zam Wessel, only after Anakin Skywalker managed to capture her at the exact moment in his relationship when Obi Wan Kenobi's concerns were beginning to strain their relationship while preparing to send Padme into hiding so that Jar Jar Binks would be the representative during the crucial vote?

There's no way a screenwriter would have a Sith hopeful vocally harp on how she needed to teach herself the lesson of how to kill a Wookiee Jedi without facing him without a weapon and then somehow have her target die without having had to face him without a weapon and have had that be her plan.

I will go back for another look, but my memory is that Mae approaches Kalnacca's hut very cautiously, approaches him very cautiously, and looks surprised/distressed that he has been killed. If this was her plan all along, I can maybe talk myself into accepting her cautious approach, but she should have looked happy or smug when she saw her plan worked.

I think the "Kill a Jedi without a weapon" is definitely meant to find cracks in the Jedi Order armor. If a Jedi kills an unarmed opponent, which they're not supposed to do, then they are not living up to their own ideals. Its about finding the weak points and then taking advantage of those points.

And that's what the Sith do later on in the PT. Take advantage of the Jedi not living up to their own ideals.

She literally runs into his home because she fell and tripped over Bazil. He then alerts the Jedi - who are within earshot - of Mae being there. They are all basically near Kelbecca's house when this all goes down. Mae only slows down once inside, because she notices the red lighting and sees that he's already dead. And that's when she's 'He's here" and scared.

There's a book you might be interested in. It's a hefty one with a hefty price, but it's beautiful. You might need the tote bag, too, for toting it around.
