That phrasing on official releases has me wondering if they are just attempting to be "in universe" about the entire thing. The same way they describe how he seeks pleasures in his alias a Qimir. Is the whole "some may call him Sith" phrasing meant to go along with the overall theme of the series taking place at a time where nobody knows the Sith still exist so some people might consider him a Sith... everyone else would not even know what a Sith was?

I don't think that's quite correct. If you read the Darth Bane books (which are very good IMO), most of the drama/jeopardy is predicated on the Sith being exposed in some way. That's where a lot of the drama is right? And although one could argue that Qimir's actions circa 900 years later more directly risk exposing the Sith, one could argue that 900 years in the shadows has made them overconfident, less risk averse. Indeed, having the balls to put a Sith in the Senate, directly interfacing with Jedi every single day, is the height of overconfidence... and ultimately it paid off. So all this is pretty consistent. Point being, the Sith Master may be wanting to poke the ability/capability of the Jedi... he may be eliciting a response and testing their faith... he may just be wanting to draw Osha out, and believe this risk is worth it for such a capable apprentice?

That's entirely supposition.... and I've just justified Qimir's actions. Dooku could have killed Anakin and it could have all been for nothing.... especially as Palpatine had put himself in a place of danger i.e on a ship under fire that probably only Anakin Skywalker could have landed in that condition. What would have Palpatine done then? He took fairly sizeable risks to get him to where he wanted to be (see The Phantom Menace).

I think you're missing the point of the show entirely if you believe Mae is targeting random Jedi... and that killing Jedi in this way is something the Sith just do routinely when they are bored or to test each other.

Indeed. Mae went from, "Osha being alive changes everything!" to leaving her sister unconscious with a Sith on the loose, real quick! What is up with Mae?

She changes on a dime. Even as a child. From loving to possessive and harmful. Her motives changed on Khofar an absurd number of times. She is either being occasionally possessed by an outside force (is it mum?) who causes her to change course to fulfill their plan through her or she suffers from acute, potentially drastic levels of personality disorder.

I think it's just sloppy writing.

@The Chalk Jedi where does Headland say that we'll be getting another Sith in this season?

I think Mae has three motivations. Her number one concern is staying alive and she is a coward. I think she wants to be family again with Osha which is her second motivation but not as much as she wants to escape Qimir's immediate vicinity. I think any would know moth monsters won't kill someone as powerful as Qimir. I think when she could not convince Osha she left her for dead perhaps to distract Qimir and disguised herself just to escape. She already thinks she is fooling Sol. Her third motivation is revenge on the Jedi and she'll switch to that very quickly. I don't think Mae is some one comes up with brilliant plans or who thinks that far head.

I was lucky to be able to remember where I heard this since I read way too much and watch way too much and half the time don't bother keeping track of sources for things that seem obvious in a show about Sith -- you know, there are always two.

However, just for YOU, I wasted some of my precious relaxation time to find the source. On New Rockstars latest Acolyte video, he says that Headland confirms there will be two Sith in the show during the roundtable discussion she had at LFL with some insiders like NR Erik Voss.

Voss says the following at 23:10 of the video:

He goes on to speculate that the freedom Qimir wants is probably not just freedom from the Jedi, but freedom from his own Master. This makes such perfect sense I'm certain people will ignore it and continue making links to the KoR.

Headland also mentions in EW yesterday that a potential S2 she would explore this "second level" freedom that Voss speculates about. She says,

So it's pretty clear to me that we'll be introduced to his Master this season, and that would set up a S2 where he continues to seek his freedom from them.

However, I will mention that this second Sith we meet might not be a Master per se, but a hologram of a past Sith. But I think this would be unsatisfying compared to meeting the real Master, and Headland has said she threw everything into S1 because she might not get a S2.

To be fair the only reason why people are making links to KOR is because of the Kylo Ren theme that was played

Speaking of Darth Biceps. I wonder if his arms have tattoos from his wrists and upward or is it just dirt or burn marks. I'm surprised that the picture quality isn't good enough to see it clearly.

I knew he was not at all like the Ren from the comics when he didn't talk like he spends 22 hours a day inside of a bong and wasn't calling the Jedi stuff like "jabroni". The Ren was an imbecile. His entire characterization was the bloke in his thirties who has to go home and tell his mom that he was fired from Taco Bell due to unreliability.

I do appreciate that Sol defeated Qimir and would have lopped his head off if Osha hadn't popped up (at a very bad time, from my perspective). Nice to see a bad ass good guy. Well, "good" until they take him in the direction that seems pretty inevitable at this point.

If they’re marketing him as The Stranger then it’s because his real “dark name” is something important (Palgueis, Ren, etc.).

This is one of the times I'm sorry I've not read more of the EU. How is the audience supposed to know the zipper helmet is made of special alloy that blocks mind reading and shorts out light sabers. I thought it was a new sith force power.

As Jedi after Jedi go down, then Jedi who I've emotionally invested in go down, I cried out. It upset and shocked me. Sure, I think we all knew the red shirts were doomed, but Yord and Jecki, NO! Compared this to arena scene in AotC, just illuminated the lack of emotional capitol in the PT.
This, more than cackling Palpatine, make the Sith evil, give them a point of view, which is what I hoping from in this series.

One of the reasons I'm loving this series, is it is a mystery with emotional cost. This isn't of the mystery of who Darth Zipperface is, but of what happened and why to Osha and Mae. Most of the other SW shows were hinder by knowing the outcome of the characters. Other than knowing Ki Mundi goes on to confuse us in the PT, it's up for grabs.
