I'm usually behind this sentiment. In this specific case I think it clear Sol is overcome with emotion and not very focused.

No. Nothing romantic. He's undressing and taking a bath. She's grabbing his lightsaber to defend herself because he's vulnerable. She's following his every moment to make sure he doesn't somehow attack her. She then notices his scars. He puts his clothes back on.

I really think you're looking to the romance thing here.

Yes. There's something more than Master and Apprentice. Two people with similar histories. Similar desires even. Maybe even similar philosophy.

That's my thought. And where he is will eventually be that dark side pit.

Love that they said the word "cortosis" out loud and acknowledged it is brittle.

Qimir hopefully will tell us more about himself as Sol is offering his own flashback. Certainly seems implied that Qimir's master stabbed him in the back, causing him to break away and search for his own alcolyte- who he thought was Mae but now seeks Osha for.

Did anyone else get major The Last Jedi vibes from this episode? Everything from Osha’s outfit — which is very clearly intended to resemble Rey’s Jedi training attire — to her interactions with Qimir mirroring Kylo’s attempts to turn Rey during their early Force bonds, it all felt oddly (and deliberately) similar. Not to mention, the “unknown planet” is obviously supposed to be reminiscent of Ahch-To, even if it isn’t.

I also couldn’t help but notice that Kylo Ren’s theme played during the end credits again. Maybe Qimir has ties to what will eventually become the Knights of Ren?

So many questions, and so few episodes left for them all to be answered. I’m excited to see where the story goes in the next two episodes!

I really liked those weird bird things. Great little design.

Also really loved the greenish baths. The set locations were outstanding.

On the service for me it wasn't the best episode not the worst hard to follow up last week's dark episode but I loved the exposition I loved the mystery. I can see Osha going to the dark side to ultimately get what she wants attachment love. May be Mae hears what Sol has to say and turns to the light side but is Sol framed maybe Mae dies trying to protect Sol from the Jedi? Ultimately solid episode really liked it but dare I say a lot happened but nothing happened kind of filler exposition but still good episode. Also Oshsa was totally checking out Quimir when he came out of the water! ;)

Also Anyone else get a Halloween vibe when Osha put on Quimir's mask like Michael Myers Halloween creepy!

In theory, the whip could have caused such damage that he was in stasis to heal- and so he looks young because he was kept in a state of suspended animation- allowing for it to be "a really long time ago" [face_dunno]

Something is off about Vernestra. Can't put my finger on it. Just the way she's acted during the whole series is suspicious.

Do you like this or is it bad?

That’s not the first time Fight Club has been quoted by Star Wars.

I’ll go one step further, Qimir has what look scars from a very thick whip on his and Vernestra has a thick lightsaber whip.

    Another enjoyable episode.

While I thought Sol should know it was Mae, I'm OK with his conflicting emotions and distractions from the day clouding his judgement.

Why is Mae killing him now? Who knows.

Show is still tip toeing around the Sith being secret with bad communications. I'm OK with that.

Darth Manny is still great. Little Cortosis explanation in there be fun. Coruscanti Jedi still leave much to be desired.

I'm still intrigued, though I think this episode doesn't stand as well on its own. It would be better as part of a full binge.

the word seduction clearly has multiple meanings in this episode. The tension was meant to be sexual in nature. Qimir emphasized the word desire when speaking to her and is clearly capitalizing on her loss and need for connection.

The episode was so good. I have to watch it again right now. From Vernestra’s investigation to Sol ready to tell his story to all Qimir/Osha scenes.

but first — I need to wipe the steam from my windows and turn the ac down.

I don't feel like she should have been brought over from the books. Her being on the show really is just a way for them to have a connection to the books. Vernestra has far better development in the books and she in many ways feels like she was placed into this show when she really didn't need to be.

What was the hyperspace sickness bit about? Just some levity to quickly establish character dynamics and that Vernestra doesn’t go on many missions in the field or leave Coruscant often?

If this episode was another 20 minutes longer and we got Sol's explanation, it might have been the best episode yet.

In the books Vernestra often gets sick and starts having some delusions while in hyperspace. That line was nothing more than a connection to the books.

This episode felt closest so far to what Andor does well. It was all about character moments and taking the time to not only allow for them but to allow for moments where the camera dwells on various characters and just lets us draw our own conclusions.

Manny Jacinto is absolutely killing it in this role. He’s embodied so many different aspects of an effective dark sider and he’s maybe been the best so far I’ve seen at selling it as just being liberating and freeing. He’s literally making that pitch as he walks out naked from a pool of water. Just a total badass and dude is far more athletic than I thought he was as Quimir, too. When we first meet him his posture is terrible and he seems twitchy and tiny and the last two episodes he’s been the exact opposite. I’m actually glad I don’t know him from any other role besides this one. It helped.

I found his line that it was a very long time ago (when he was a Jedi) interesting. We know Vernestra is old. What if he’s learned something that slowed his aging and he’s much older than he appears?

@Jedi_Sith_Smuggler_Droid: I don't even know. I've always gotten the impression from Leslye Headland that she sounds like any know it all college aged film snob whenever she talks. So it wouldn't surprise me if she quoted Fight Club thinking it would be edgy. There are shades of Fight Club in the whole Osha/Mae thing. And with the way she described this show from the start as being "Frozen meets Kill Bill", there's a decent chance that was her intention. Like I've said before, this is exactly how I would picture a Star Wars show if the CW was producing it.

So unbelievably dull. Just weird "echoes" of other SW stuff we've seen before with less compelling actors/characters (I don't get the love for Jacinto's performance). They took the wrong lessons from the ST and are doing it even worse.

The constant prying/delaying of the Sol confession is ridiculous at this point (There's so much repetition in the show overall) and it's really cheap mystery boxing, and the show has lost the thrust of the overall conflict.

It's a reference to the High Republic books. In the latest book released in June Vernestra started seeing visions of a person that had been dead for years while traveling through hyperspace.

Probably my favorite episode of the show yet, and in some ways it felt the darkest to me even though the death toll was much lower than last episode.

-The scenes with Mae and Sol continually kept me on my toes, and I am eager for the reveals that should come from what Sol will tell Mae. Could be some more flashbacks ahead.

-I like the visuals of the planet where Qimir took Osha.

-Qimir is a good Dark Side tempter and all the more effective because he speaks so softly and has a twisted sort of "empathy" in terms of understanding and nurturing Osha's darker impulses toward anger and vengeance and also preying on her desire for connection and belonging.

-Seems like everyone is obsessed with the Power of Two in this show:p

-I appreciated the nod to Vernestra's sickness and tendency to have weird Force visions in hyerspace that was shown in earlier High Republic projects. A fun little Easter egg for High Republic fans such as myself.

-Seeing Vernestra's purple lightship was also pretty awesome. Not gonna lie.

-Wonder if Sol turning off the transponder when explicitly instructed not to do so will be part of why the Jedi never learn that the Sith are still a thing in the galaxy and basically seals Sol's fate.

-That Jedi Knight who theorizes that Sol just slaughtered the whole team of Jedi (including Jecki) is definitely not the brightest lightsaber in the Order. Perhaps theories like that are also why the Jedi never discover what the Sith are up to:rolleyes:

-Epic final moment when Osha dons the mask and we can hear her breathing. Reminds me of the scene when Vader wears his suit and mask for the first time at the end of Revenge of the Sith.

-Interesting to see the potential reversing of roles as Osha seems tempted by Qimir and the Dark Side and Mae might end up being receptive to what Sol has to say in the next episode.

-Super intrigued and hooked to see where next episode takes the plot and characters.

I think this episode will receive my first 10 out of 10 rating for this show, because I really enjoyed it, and there was nothing truly negative that I could say about it.

I just continue to be really happy this show exists for High Republic fans like me:D

@AvarandElzarsittininatree: Tyler Durden says "It's only when you've lost everything that you are free to do anything." Darth Smiley says that almost verbatim.

I’m actually really hoping they full on retcon Tenenbrous now and make Manny Jacinto him. I want him to be the one who finds and recruits Plagueis. He’s a good dark sider with enough traits that I could see him teaching to Plagueis and Plagueis then teaching Palpatine.
